Braesridge Apartments is a nice complex, but no longer a senior living complex. The apartments are nice, the maintence is excellent, and the grounds are very well kept. If you are a senior, beware. You can be prepared to be treated like a pest and with total lack of respect. If you are looking for an affordable place to live, this is a nice place, reguardless of age.

I lived here for almost 10 years, when I came it was wonderful and just continued to get bad. The office staff was not at all familiar with ADA laws, they broke a major law and lied about it. There are newer apartments with updated appliances which make you utilities bills lower. When at Braesridge I was paying over $100, since I moved to a newer complex my utility bill is $30, a big difference. Some of the newer senior apartments also provide you with a washer and dryer.

We lived at Braesridge for 8 months and our experience was good, overall. The property seemed to be well kept up, the maintenance staff were very responsive, and the office staff always had a warm welcome. They were awesome in the Ike aftermath, and worked really hard to take care of residents. I just can't say enough good things about then. The only thing I didn't like, which was the reason we moved, was all the noise. The complex is located right next to a fire station, and across from a police station. Believe it or not, the noise from them weren't the problem. It was the other residents who felt like they had to blast their loud radios while riding through the parking lot. It seems like the management will let just anyone live there. It gets a little rowdy on the weekends. We lived right by the exit gate, so we always heard the gate motor. A lot of people would sit at the exit gate and blast their car radios there, too. Management also released several "armed robbery alert" notices, which occured in the back of the property. It's almost like you have to choose to hear noise and be safer, or have more quiet but risk higher crime. Some sidewalks are covered by tree overhangs, which impedes security lighting. There was also this one time when an arborist climbed onto the balcony with a ladder (right off my bedroom) and began to prune a tree with a chainsaw. All this happened while I was trying to sleep. I work late evenings and therefore sleep all morning long. When I complained to the office about it, I got a half hearted response because they were still cleaning up after Ike. All of the office staff knew I worked late evenings, and I protested about having the contractors starting somewhere else on the property that early in the morning. After that, the noise from contractors did quiet down a LITTLE bit. The complex is located in the absolute WORST part of Houston (Fondren and W Bellfort), but the prices are very reasonable. 59/610/Beltway are all within 3 miles of the complex, and there is a bus line that runs at the end of the block. It's very convenient for someone who needs a CLEAN place to live on a budget, especially folks who don't have cars. We have three cars and parking was never a problem. Each unit gets one assigned covered spot, but there is plenty of first-come parking available. Since this is a senior community, kids under 18 are NOT allowed to live there. It was nice to not have to worry about cars getting hit with inflatable balls, bicycles, etc. The only drawback about living in a senior community was that a lot of elderly people live there, and can be quite nosey. It was never a problem for us, but some people who are very private might find that to be intrusive. I WOULD recommend this property to future residents, but if you can afford to live in a better part of town (Westchase, West Energy, etc), you should look there first.

I have been here for a few months, I would say you need to be concerned about the section you move into. The better section would be near the leasing office and toward the back of that area. I would not go into the 3 story sections. This is supposed to be 55 and older, I see plenty that are younger and the young children do sneak in and stay here. The management are great and the maintenance is excellent. Be aware there are plenty of government subsidized apartment housing in the area, attracting undesirables. The rent is very reasonable, there is a reason and it is the surrounding area that is less than desirable.

I am a previous resident. I loved my aptment. I moved because when I came in on a special, but at the end of my leasing insetead of keeping my rent the same or lower they raised it, but other than that it was great I love the fact they have trash pick up every other day so if you don't want to you don't have to walk to the trash can, I love where my mailbox was located and the few maintenance problems i had were taken care of immediately. this is a nice quiet place to live . it is a senior neighborhood so most of the people are nosey, but you just say hi and say you have to go somewhere. I would recomend these apts for everyone.

I just want to let everyone know how wonderful the staff has been to my Mother. My Mother fell recently, and the office staff not only called 911, but they stayed with my Mother until the ambulance arrived, they turned off her tv, adjusted the thermostat, and made sure her door was locked. I would recommend Braesridge to anyone who wants the VERY BEST for their parents. They have both mine and my Mother's undying gratitude.

I really do not know what everbody is talking about. I've lived here for 4yrs and I have never had any problems. The office staff are very caring and concern of our well being. So if you are looking for a nice place to live believe me this is it.

I think the management has been getting worst and worst. Increasing amount of partying noise during the night and weekend. When I have visitors all the spots are full from cars without license place. Lease agreement restrict cars without valid registration, yet the management does not appear to enforce their own rules. My neighbors tell me that they had their spots taken by the unmarks cars. Otherwise, it is pretty good place.

At the first yr, this place was quiet, clean, & good maintance. Lately, I always hear loud talking, parties music at nite. And many cigaret, beer bottles around the area. Also, assign parting seems not as it said no more. Always people park at my space! It supposed to be for elder people's apartment, but seems like more and more young ones in now. I am not saying they are all bad, but there's many bad ones loves to party and break the rule. The office should do background check before letting people in. Otherwise, the good residents would leave, and the place just become worest and worest.

It could be better, I often wonder if they do background checks. People are moving in that should not be here. One thing I can say is, they soon find themselves being evicted.

There are still people here I wish were somewhere else. Loud music, drunks, just overall not what it used to be.

I would still have to say that it is better than most complexes for the money and expecially for the area.
