I've lived in these apartments for three and a half years. In that time, I've been flooded out of my apartment by a hurricane which is about the only thing that wasn't the fault of the office staff. They actually handled that halfway decently. I've had not one, but TWO satellite dishes stolen- from TWO SEPARATE UNITS, my wife nearly had her car stolen, at gunpoint, I've had both my car door locks punched out, and am literally afraid for my life every time I go outside to walk my dog, or walk to my car in the morning for work. Okay, the grounds aside, let's talk about the actual unit. Remember that I said that I had a unit flooded out by a hurricane? Yeah, well by the time the staff decided to show back up for work? My unit had mold visibly growing on, or near the baseboards throughout the master bedroom and subsequent closet. Their remedy? Shampoo the carpet (never mind the mold UNDER it) and paint over the mold. Yeah, great. Okay, so I move into another unit? Upstairs, which I'm not too keen on personally, but that's just me. Anyway, I move in and it seems alright, not spectacular, but alright. Well, as time goes on things start to break. It took, combined mind you- almost a year to get both my ceiling fans replaced. I wasn't being picky 'that doesn't match my curtains' but because both of them had gone out, or were on their way out. Okay, that was more than a little irritating. Well, my garbage disposal has a habit of eating all the random screws that fall out of God alone knows where and currently sounds like it has laryngitis. No, I'm not dropping them down there for a kick, but seriously don't know where they're coming from or how they wind up in my disposal. Now, my dishwasher. I've literally been fighting since my lease renewal in January (I'm writing this review in September) to get them to replace it. Not FIX, but REPLACE. Why? You ask? Well, the tines in the bottom tray are rusting through and falling out, making it hard to keep my dishes upright, the bottom tray has lost a wheel, and about every two, three weeks, the whole f-ing thing fall completely out of the cabinet. Their solution? Drop two Sheetrock screws into the cabinet and call it fixed. Oh, how I wish I could attach pictures to this because I would show you the shimmy they made. Shimmy? Yeah, shimmy. Someone waded up a piece of paper and shoved it between the cabinet and dishwasher just to level it off. Call it a day, have a nice one, later. That's that. Now, lets move onto my pantry/laundry room. I recently replaced my washer/dryer no biggie- until I stepped behind the dryer and sank. SANK. Remember that I am on the second floor. I seriously thought I was going to fall through the floor. The plywood under my feet felt spongy and soft and it CRUNCHED. I'm not super skinny but I don't weigh six hundred pounds either. Next we have the cable bill. In order to save money? Keep residents? The owners of the property decided not to lower rent, but instead offer a great deal on the cable. Instead of going through the cable provider, you have to pay the leasing office a reduced rate on your bill. Anything extra, like premium channels, or DVRs and you pay the cable provider. No biggie. Wrong. I'm getting nasty-grams from both the office (they're threatening to put a lien against my personal property inside my apartment) and the cable provider. Finally we have my niece. She's staying with my wife and I. She drives a Mustang, and may have parked a little wonky. Okay, shame on her, give her one of those annoying stickers that take forever to scrape off, right? NOPE! The towing company yanks her car and expects her to pay nearly two hundred bucks to get it out of the impound. Keep in mind, she's eighteen and struggling to keep up with her school and part-time job. Do they care? Of course not. By some miraculous stroke of luck I was FINALLY able to speak to the property manager today, and literally stayed on the phone with her for thirty three minutes explaining everything that was wrong. Nobody was more surprised than she was at the conclusion of the conversation. I guess things didn't get to her desk?

Through the time period I lived in these apartments, MY APARTMENT WAS BROKEN INTO 4 TIMES, MY CAR WAS STOLEN, AND WE WERE FORCED TO MOVE OUT FOR THE FEAR OF OUR OWN LIVES. Someone was also murdered in cold blood 50ft from my apartment door for only $120. I could write a book about how horrible this apartment complex was for me. Moving out was literally the best decision ive ever made in my life. One time I met face to face with the guy who was coming to rob me at gunpoint while I was grabbing something out of my truck. He was so startled when I turned around that he just froze up and stood there as I walked away. I had been walking out to my truck before and witnessed crack heads breaking into other peoples cars while they were parked directly under the street light. People watch for you to take out the trash so they can kick in your door and grab whatever they can before you come back. Drugs and stolen merchandise are sold everywhere, and you are just plain stupid if you go outside at night alone. I used to walk to my truck visibly holding my pistol in my hand just so I wouldnt be ran up on and jumped. When we moved out, we signed all the papers in advance saying we were moving out and paid all of our balances. They told us everything was good and we were all fine. We went back multiple times to try and get our deposit back, but the manager was never there and we couldnt stand being there so we just said screw it. Then 3 WHOLE MONTHS LATER once I had already moved into a new house, I get a call from a collections agency saying I owe them $580!!! This was the first time I had ever even heard of this, not to mention WE LET THEM HAVE OUR DEPOSIT! Once you live in this place, its obvious that the apartment staff or their friends are the ones who posted all of the good reviews. THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST HORRIBLE PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED IN OR EVEN SLEPT IN FOR ONE NIGHT! A/C never worked for more than 2 weeks, we were blamed for flood damage, the apartment barely fixed our door to where it would shut every time it was kicked in. When you call the office you NEVER get an associate, its always an answering service that cant do anything what so ever but page the maintenance man. This place is the definition of ------.. If you move in your are either heavily armed, just dont care, or you yourself are one of the people planning on committing crimes at night. Theres many other places out there that are some what better for the cheap price.

I don't even live in these apartments but by carpooling with a friend to work who I pick up I can tell you this apartments are "no good". They have no type of security and are very unsafe. I stayed one night at my friends apartment only to wake up the next morning to having my car vandalized and broken into someone broke my whole driver side window out of my car just so they could take a "cheap" "old" radar detector. It was a senseless ridiculous break in heck they could have stopped me and asked me for it I would have given it to them, so now I was stuck claiming a crime on my insurance and having to pay 1,000 bucks to replace my window and minor damages to the window frame that someone did to my car just for a radar detector that's just to me ridiculous that someone can be that desperate. I don't think I will be staying over at my friends apartment anymore I'd feel safer driving home late at night rather than staying at that apartment. Plus my poor friend has reported their a/c unit freezing at least once a month and at one point the a/c leaked water all into the apartment damaging carpet and all they did was vacuum it up tore a hole in the wall and instead of patching the wall back together they placed this "fake" vent screen over the hole in the wall so now they have a vent located under the a/c unit that goes to nothing. It is bad they take forever to fix things and respond I really am trying to talk my friend into moving.

I've been trying to tolerate living here because moving is such a hassle, but it's nothing these days to hear gunshots, cop cars (if you're lucky) and the sounds of cars being smashed in at night. The management regularly sends out notices about murders and rapes. We've been robbed three times (the apartment itself and our car) and so we finally got guns, an alarm system and a big dog. Then they had the audacity to raise our rent by almost $100! We're paying -- seriously -- very near what I paid to live in River Oaks. The cops I've spoken to (they are regular visitors, you see) say that the reason the crime is so bad here is because of the density of apartment complexes, and they just put up two new huge ones right next to us. We ended up here because we needed a place to live quickly and they gave us a high pressure sales pitch. If I'd known about this website, I would have rented elsewhere. I suppose it's important to be fair: the people who live here are for the most part very nice, but it's just totally unsafe and ridiculously expensive. I don't think there's any solution. This neighborhood is destined for blight because greedy developers don't care about quality of life for the human beings who sleep here and try to raise families.

If I'd have read these reviews before moving in here, we might not have moved in. We've only been here 5 months and have had more than enough of the BS. The first month we were here, our car was broken into AND the complex allowed tow trucks to tow our car because the car next to us wasnt within the lines thus mis-aligning the whole row. This complex has so many contracts with shadey businesses. There's the tow trucks that THEY LET INTO THE GATES and Ygnition cable. OMG. If you move in here, DO NOT get your cable through them. Even if the complex tells you that you dont have a choice. Ive never experienced such horrible service! Certain channels go out in the middle of programs about every half hour or so. And the biggest headache of all is our dirty LOUD upstairs neighbors! Even though we've told the office repeatedly about the barking pittbull they keep on the tiny upstairs balcony and the dog crap that is thrown over the balcony into the yard below which we all share, but they're constantly throwing all kinds of garbage into our yard. Not to mention the smell of dog feces is enough to scare anyone away. We continue to ask the complex to do something about this, or have maintinence clean it up, and NOTHING gets done. The people in the leasing office could care less about the pests crawling around your kitchen or the lights that are always out at your front door. One thing they are attentive about is charging you for being a day late, even though the office was closed and no one was there to take your rent. Keep in mind, my family and I have only been here 5 months and have gone without water for 3 days because of the complex. Water outtage has happened twice already and weve had to listen to a jack hammer for 3 hours, literally, at our backyard sliding door. NONE of this is an exaggeration. And be prepared for a large electric bill. This complex has the kind of doors that have no seal and theres constant hot and cold air coming in from outside. The hot air blowing when AC is on doesnt help either. If your going to live here, I'd take an extra long close look at whats going on around you. RENTERS BEWARE!

Go ahead and move here, you'll get the friendliest robbers money can steal. My wife and I moved in here last year, and are already counting the days until our lease is up. Don't get me wrong, the apartment is beautiful, and spacious, but God help you if you've got a maintenance problem. Our A/C went out and it took them almost a week to fix it, come on this is Houston. Horrible maintenance, and if you've got to go into the office for ANYTHING, forget it. The best you'll get is ignored, the worst is rude comments and snotty attitudes. The whole area though, is going to the dogs, so this place being bad is not surprise, oh, and as of me writing this, there are two more complexes being built on both sides of the complex. So, enjoy the construction for the next two years, and road dust... Oh yeah, god help you at any of the intersections around here. It's not who was at the stop sign first, but who can gun it first...

I have lived here for almost 3 yrs. now. I liked it in the biginning but my thoughts and opinion has changed dramatically. The staff is rude, don't think about getting your houshold appliances fixed the same day you request for it. And there have been alot of move outs going on lately. I have heard other compliants from friends about cars being broken into and stupid things gets stolen from the front of your house...like slippers. And the people that are moving in don't really care about the property or anything else. You could tell Carrage hill is takening anybody and everybody no matter what type of person you are. In fact in front of my apartment the family that just moving in broke glass down the stairs and ended up in my front porch for my daughter to have here foot periced with glass. Nobody bothers to pick it up even though they saw for themselves that we were cleaning up there mess. I can't wait to move out in July. Oh and not to make this letter any worse their pools all of them are rarely clean it's hard to enjoy the summer with the kids in a cloudly pool of water. I DO NOT RECOMEND ANYBODY WHO HAS A DESENT SOLE TO MOVE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!! Besides the cost of rent is redicious for what you have to go through. Believe me there is better places with reasonable price. --From a person who cares about you.

I have been living here in Carriage Hill for 4 years. So many things and people have changed. At first this was an excellent community. But ever time they change management it got worst. Oh please don't call for maintenance, you can walk to Kansas City and back, and trust me they still want be there. It seems like a lot of young children are moving in and bringing their boyfriends and friends. I don;t think its the neighbors who is committing the crime, I believe its the friends of the neighbors. Since the community is becoming average,i think they need to come down of the price. We have had murders, shootings, drugs, rape and break in over the past 9 months. Yes 9 months. My family and I are moving. So good luck to all the future and current Carriage Hill residents. Also Woodborough is affliated with Carriage Hill, PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TO WOODBOROUGH THATS WHERE ALL THE NON-WORKING PEOPLE STAY.they have time for crime and MESSY MESSY.May god bless all of us and be with us doing these trials and tribulations.
