I resided at this structure for 3 years spanning 2013-2015. After my time there, I wanted to highlight some of the difficulties we encountered. While there were definitely negatives, I should mention that the positives existed too. The leasing staff was exceptionally courteous and made an effort to remember residents' names. The upkeep team members were both fantastic individuals. It's unfortunate they weren't part of our subsequent residence. 1.) recurring upkeep problems (the rear roundabout renovation lasted 6 months yet showed minimal visible improvements, garage doors malfunctioning every 6 months, elevators frequently unavailable with unreasonably extended fixing timelines, computer lab printers perpetually out of service) 2.) front desk turnover happening regularly. Although the doormen were Guperb once you became acquainted, they would get reassigned. When we asked about it, staff explained they use a rotation system (which prevents you from ever settling into familiar faces) 3.) directv service - take it or leave it, but you have no choice. You'd think residents would receive a structure discount. Yet, our bill stayed around $75 even with the discount, and merely adding standard channels plus hbo need to paying an additional $10 monthly service fee for 2 years just to upgrade the box) 4.) rental rates - yes, Chicago is pricey overall, but they charge exorbitant rent given the aforementioned problems. During our final year, we paid $2400 for parking plus a 1 bedroom unit. Most frustrating was the move-out process. We thoroughly cleaned and repaired everything to avoid additional fees. I was stunned when they demanded over $300 for carpet replacement citing excessive wear in shared spaces...obviously. We'd occupied an 800 sq ft unit for 3 years; normal use is inevitable. We'd paid $180 upon move-in for their carpet replacement due to "life expectancy" concerns. After I protested about nickel-and-diming us following $70k spent over three years, they offered to split the cost. Ridiculous. We refused and subsequently received a collection notice. If you're considering properties in this district, definitely shop around. Your dollars will stretch much further elsewhere without these aggravations.

Echelon at K Station is an great residence to call home! It's situated right near tons of dining and drinking options, plus there's a fantastic supermarket conveniently located across the street. The amenities are top-notch—you get a fitness center, in-unit washer/dryer, a stunning swimming pool, grilling stations, and more. I'd absolutely suggest this structure to anyone I know.
