I've had an amazing experience living here. The property is very well managed & I feel very safe here. This area is the best. The maintenance team is very responsive & ensure everything is perfect. Edwin & Nash are excellent.

The apartment itself had good space and a great window view. The staff is friendly, and usually does their best to accommodate different needs. Overall, the community gym equipment is minimal, and community amenities are often out of order.

Safe and walkable area. Love the staff and and the community. I would recommend Gold Coast City Club Apartments. Very helpful with move in, and they answered all of my questions. Great place so far. Thank you

Have enjoyed living here, at 860, It is a quiet building, neighbors are very frienly.Because 86 is a concrete and steel building, designed with windows that offer many views to the south, east, and north I also enjoy lots of sun. .

BE WARNED!! This is the absolute worst place to live at in Chicago. The manager of the building is a 24 year old who only got the job through family connections and has no idea what he is doing. There are cockroaches in the laundry room and gym, wasps on the rooftop, things are falling apart all over the building, we frequently didn’t have heat in the winter and didn’t have air in the summer. There are several safety and security issues of HIGH concern including the fact that there is a literal public coffee shop in the lobby and people frequently steal packages or break into different floors in the building. One woman was even held at gunpoint by a man targeting the building and she was forced up to her apartment where she was raped and robbed. The building also has several air bnb’s so frequent travelers are roaming all over. It is insanely over priced and looks nice only online or in photos but BE WARNED this place is HELL ON EARTH. Choose literally any other building in Chicago and I promise you will be better off.

This is a great apartment! The staff is very helpful and responsive, and the apartments have a wonderful floor plan. Considering the area, the rent is very reasonable and it is in the perfect location for Northwestern University law/med/grad students and people who work at the NU medical campus. It is close to many options for public transportation and is a stone's throw from the lake front path!

What a rip off! The rents are ridiculously high with security at an all time low. The pretentious improvemtns do not command their many hundreds of dollars in rent increases. The units are being renovated with pricey increases with dust everywhere, noise and creepy people working I. The units. It is an old building and cannot command these prices! Just found out they are taking back the lockers and there will not be any available to the tenants. Fortunately, there are great alternatives In The area and I Am Out of here.

I will try to be fair and help anyone who reads these reviews as much as i can, since i am already out of there..... First, the huge increase in rent is not justified, this building is not worth it. It is not comparable to the other buildings in the area in terms of services, amenities etc. While it may have been a good deal just before the increase, now its just an overpriced outdated, poorly serviced place to live. The location is great and the units are spacious, but thats about it, for the price you can afford better. The new staff is rude at times and not helpful at all. Village green seems to be more concerned with increasing their profits and attracting new tenants through advertisement rather than keeping current tenants satisfied - some of them left after having lived there for many many years. The doormen are there only part time only at certain hours in the evening-and they are really nice, so they deserve five stars. If you need any kind of assistance during the day though there's no one there to help. The people in the leasing office dont have the first clue, plus they are not much involved. I have seen strange people get into the building without a problem...not sure how unconcerned management is about that. The units are in a terrible condition. Dust comes out through the so called air filtration system-which is a joke and hasn't been cleaned in ages. The water is inconsistent, same goes for the heat. Sometimes the water in the kitchen and the bathroom is brown-ish so maybe wait a day or two to do the dishes or take a bath. Speaking of bath, if you're in a rush and need a quick shower good luck getting any hot water the first ten minutes in the shower. The gym is also not the best; while they did replace the treadmills that weren't functioning, the TV is a joke-its old tube style and if you're not a fox channel fan - the only channel that works - not much good for entertainment. The windows are not all tight, so make sure you have an old tshirt handy to seal them somehow in the winter. The elevators - already a legend, are still pending the certificate from authorities, a hazard of its own. The carpet in the elevators reeks of animal discharge and other...same goes for the chute, often the smell is strong enough you can smell it in the hallways. Overall ill say avoid this building, if you can. Its still a great location if you don't mind all of the above.

As a former tenant in this building, I whole heartily agree with some the last reviews. They took away the 24/7 doormen, changing their schedules to being only present on the evenings and weekends. This is a concern for two reasons. 1. The obvious, no doorman, less safety. Although 860 is in the Gold Coast area, there have been have few issues/concerns over the past few years that were only resolved when a doorman was actually present. As is, there are 4 ways to get into the building and as is, it is pretty easy to get inside without a key. The doorman view the security cameras and keep trouble out. Fob systems do not do that. 2. For the older residents at 860, the doormen have shown time after time as reliable people to help the elderly and injured inside the building. That level of care is imperative. The noise of the construction in the building is just un-godly. Super loud, to the point where you want to gouge your eardrums out. Village Green strives to create and sell an experience. If this is your home, your refuge at the end of the day, then why should the building management sell you an experience as if its a timeshare? Pass on this building for now and come back to it in a year when there are newer amenities and rent has tripled. Village Green, ignoring the individual and selling you the timeshare you didn't need.

High rent, No Doorman = Unsafe. Apparently the new owner of the building has no regard for the current residents. In the Gold Coast at this price point you will not find a building without 24 hour security. In discussion with the new property manager I was told that the building would be safer without a doorman. Yes, that IS what she said. But everything would be ok because a part time "concierge" could tell me where local grocery stores are. I don't think they realize that with the advent of the smart phone the concierge is a complete waste of time an money. We require 24 hour security not fluff, the residents have made this clear that safety and service is the main concern. In a high rise building things can happen 24/7 and without security anyone can be let into the building. For what we are paying it is also a huge pain to go down stairs to let in friends and get food deliveries. Again, that is not consistent with any apartment in this area. There are many other big issues with this building. The plumbing can wake you up and then scald you in the shower. The bathroom air vents are covered causing a mold issue and a can of lysol is required at all times. The garbage area has tiny doors, so either people leave garbage in the room or dump open shopping bags down the chute which cause major odor issues. The renovation plans don't include the true issues with the building, just a lot of fluff and fancy names for the same things. There is a plan for a fancy party room that is on a floor with other residents, a communal table on the sundeck , uh I mean "22 floor sky club" and another party room on the second floor. The whole point of living in this building is the considerate quiet neighbors, and large apartments. We can live without the shallow marketing terms. Sure the laundry room and gym are a joke and we welcome those fixes, but service is the most important and without a doorman Village Green -- is the -- Village Idiot.
