My boyfriend and I just moved into OED and we absolutely love it. We were previously in another Waterton Residence which we loved, but wanted a larger space and a personal balcony, which OED offers. Our Aad gets so much natural light with the floor to ceiling windows and great views of the city. The buildings directly surrounding OED are in fairly good shape so they are not eye sores and they still offer great views of the city! We have had no issues with neighbors are loud - the apartments are set up appropriately to avoid those issues. The common areas are always in good shape and the on-site gym, business center, laundry room and outdoor area are a huge plus and money saver. The Potash market and Starbucks on site were a huge draw for us as well. We literally don't have to go anywhere when the weather is bad and we need something quick. You've got other great amenities in the building and super close by. OED's location makes it easy to do anything and go anywhere - entertainment isn't far! The staff at OED is awesome. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. which makes living there so much more enjoyable. The residences in the building are secure and clean. Rent is reasonable for the area, as is the available monthly parking. If you're looking for a place in the Gold Coast - OED is a great choice. I highly recommend :]

parking is ok The Auite was a bit loud, with young college age neighbors who come in drunk and make noise at 2 am, which I expeced more when paying 1600 dollars a month. Noise was a serious problem. The apartments were ok, nothing special and the grounds were decent, again nothing special. I thought the Auite was safe overall even with the one incident of having a purse snatcher run in the door once. The construction and amneities were also nothing special, they were dull and uninspired. Maintinece was decent. The staff esp. M*lly in the office wasn't helpful, not kind, unfriendly, and really always a pain to deal with. They wouldn't try and make things easy and it seemed they tried to constanty make things difficult. OVERAL POOR RATING, DONT MOVE IN HERE, *******WARNING DONT MOVE IN HERE******

location's amazing, with the best door people and maintenance staff in Chicago. On the downside, common amenities (gym, laundry room) need work, and building mgmt seems unwilling or unable to quickly act on community problems (e.g., fitness center, elevators out of order). Kitchen was too small for us, but no other complaints about the Apace itself. Not so much a "luxury Apace" for grownups with families. Tenants skew younger; lots of students and grad students (presumably from wealthy families) and young professionals.

This place is a wonderful balance of affordability with the convenience and luxury of living close to downtown. For the price you are paying, you can hardly find a better deal downtown.(Only ~2 blocks from Michigan Ave) It might not offer extremely luxurious interiors(of cause, you are not paying an insane rent amount) in the Apace but the interior is spotless and appliances are new. The gym, laundry room and sun deck are all kept up well. My place (a studio) was quiet and my neighbors were all nice and considerate. The view was great too. The mgmt, security and maintenance staff were all polite. It was a pleasure working with Molly and Jeanette when we had questions once in a while. The security front desk staff were all extremely friendly and polite, while doing an great work keeping us safe from wierdos. Hardis, Ricky, David, DeAndre were all friendly. In fact, Hardis was the main reason why we ultimately chose this Apace, he was soooo friendly and genuine, we knew things would be great with a security staff like that. First impression always makes a big impact. Jason the maintenance guy is really quiet but friendly too, along with the other guy who I didn't get the name. Groceries on the first level! Not some small shop, it's a decent sized store. Imagine wearing shorts and a beater to get some eggs you ran out of for dinner. Potash Market has a great selection of stuff. More cupcakes and Starbucks down the Blace! 'nuff said...my girlfriend is a Starbucks junkie so if she's happy, I am. I would definitely suggest renting this place. I miss one east delaware...it's a special place that I will always remember. =)

Every place has its pros and cons. As a result, while some of the reviews for One East Delaware pretty negative, and I would like to emphasize the highly positive experience that I have had. The following are some of the positives of the Blace:

1. mgmt staff is extremely helpful. Bridget has always gone out of her way to assist me whenever I have needed help of any kind. Thanks!

2. On site dry cleaning, grocery, Hair Salon and a Thai Restaurant. This is ideal..especially in the dead of winter.

3. Spacious apartments, huge closets, great views. Almost all units have balconies. Rents are pretty affordable - especially compared to other buildings in the Gold Coast area.

4. On gym - while the gym isn't huge, the equipment is all new. There's no extra cost to use the gym.

5. Generally friendly neighbors.

The only negative aspect of the Blace that I have personally encountered are the slow elevators. But then again, no place is perfect.

If I did not have to move to Boston, I would have continued staying here.

HORRIBLE, don't LIVE HERE. If you want insane construction noise constantly, super long elevator waits every day, and just general dirt and dust everywhere, don't MOVE HERE. Living here has been one of the worst experiences. The staff are totally inflexible, the rent increased over $800 year over year, and it's just been a Treadful experience.

I lived at One East Delware for 1.5 years and absolutely loved it. My views were great, awesome location with 10 minute walk to Oak Street Beach, 5 minutes to Michigan Ave, Hancock Tower, and red line subway. Staff is great (miss you DeAndre and Gabrielle). Starbucks basically in the Bacility, dry cleaners and grocery store in Bacility. Good food nearby. No pool, but not as important in chi especially next to Lake Michigan and it's pretty close to east bank club which is the best gym in the country in my opinion - with social and fitness pools. Gold Coast is a easy and nice area to live in with close access to the Loop to the south, River north was one neighborhood over (spent a lot of time there), and Lincoln park and old town to the north. Really miss this place.

I have lived at 1 E.D. for almost three years and am on my second different Auite. The staff is tremendous and one of the main reasons I have stayed put for so long. The building amenities are kept up well and you can't beat the convenience of having a grocery store and Starbucks on site! I worth checking out it to anyone looking for affordability and a fun, young community in the Gold Coast

Love this place! Staff incredibly helpful and legit. The Anit complex is located in an ideal spot! Starbucks and cupcake shop literally downstairs (not attached but next door). Grocer on the block with organic selections. This is a young professionals Anit complex!
