My girlfriend resides at this complex, so I visit regularly. I'm generally an upbeat person and since I don't live here myself, I'll say upfront that things could definitely be worse. I'm not entirely sure how, but I'm confident they could be. The rent is quite affordable. And the initial impression is fairly good. The units appear spacious and well-maintained when you first move in. In terms of community atmosphere, there really isn't much of one. Parking is incredibly frustrating. Particularly when it snows. It's nearly impossible to locate a decent parking space and my girlfriend has even needed help from neighbors to get her car unstuck after the snow plow went through. The appliances are mediocre at best, and maintenance takes forever to address issues, though on the rare occasions I've encountered a maintenance worker in the Auite, he seemed personable and cordial overall. That said, their slow response time is inexcusable. The water heater isn't individual to each unit so hot water becomes unpredictable throughout a single shower—going from comfortable to frigid to dangerously hot. We've also experienced complete loss of hot water for over a day at a time. You've got six 3-bedroom units in our building sharing one front entrance, so you hear clearly whenever residents come and go plus any guests they have over, even from the third floor (we're on the first). It's definitely not the quietest environment, but in fairness, it could be considerably worse. Finally, and probably most concerning, security is terrible in this building. When she first moved in, someone kept jamming the front door lock with coins or sliding the mat under it to prop it open. They didn't replace the lock until about 4 or 5 months later when it completely stopped functioning. Residents still use the mat trick, though at least it works now. The Auite door knob is also extremely loose and feels like it might snap off anytime. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place. My girlfriend and I are relocating to a nicer Auite in naperville within the next month or two, and during our search we've discovered plenty of better options for only slightly more rent. If budget is your only priority, this might suffice. Otherwise, I'd keep searching.

STAY AWAY>>>>>>>>>Even with Nresh mgmt in residence, Grand Vista remains disorganized. They don't care one bit about their residents. Everything gets repaired poorly and fixed whenever they feel like it. The property owner acts like she's in charge of everything and treats people but she wants. She even raises her voice at the upkeep staff. My walls have chipping paint that's peeling off on its own. I'M PAYING JUST TO LEAVE. this is ------ vista....e

I suspect those who posted unfavorable reviews were probably residing without paying rent and became upset after being asked to leave.

I consider these units to be exceptionally spacious, exceptionally peaceful, and the staff demonstrates both friendliness and professionalism.

.

I've been a resident at Schaumburg Villas for 15 months and couldn't be happier. The main draw for me was the spacious layouts—I toured other complexes in the district and none could match the generous floor plans here. Each structure houses just 6 units with in-structure laundry facilities, which fosters a real sense of community with the other residents. I plan to stay here long-term and feel fortunate to have discovered such an great home!

don't move here. You will be fed false promises repeatedly. Jennifer is deceptive and untrustworthy. The upkeep department is equally problematic. If you need repairs completed, you're better off fixing things yourself because upkeep arrives whenever they choose, not when you actually require help. Trust me when I say you would be happier residing anywhere else—Schaumburg Villas is not worth your time. I know from personal experience. I'm terminating my lease and leaving as soon as possible. Also, Jennifer needs a serious attitude check. She acts like she's superior and considers herself the top performer at Schaumburg Villas, which is completely false. Her work is terrible.
