I live in a respectable apartment across this street from this frat house. The building I live in is owned by a private landlord who is sick (like I am) of the rude, obnoxious frat boy types with flip flops swen to their ugly toes and cellphones growing out of their ears who are starting to become endemic to certain neighborhoods of Chicago. Last night my roommate's bicycle was stolen from inside our building; and a suspect in he crime lives in Cobbler Square or was seen hanging about there. During the Wells Street Art Festival, residents of Cobbler Square were arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct. Start screening, Cobbler Square, for behavior, or your reputation will suffer more than it already has.

I lived here for a year, and loved the building. The review about it being taken over by a younger crowd is true, and in that respect made it more fun to live in. I never had a bad and/or scary experience with neighbors or disorderly people. You can hear everything around you-That's true. Just try to be considerate of your neighbors, and I'm sure they will do the same. I also had a sleeper loft, which makes it I think much louder in your bedroom than most other apartments.

About things getting stolen-well, I was lucky because I used to the do the same thing when throwing out trash, but I'm not sure how much could've gotten stolen-since the trash room doesn't seem too far from anyone. Not long enough for anyone to jump into your apartment and steal anything. I also don't think It's mgmt's fault for her leaving her door unlocked.

The mgmt was great, location-wise, it's absolutely fabulous. I made a real lot of friends in this building, which was great because not a lot of my other friends live in Old Town. The Old Town Pub across the street is the local hangout for residents. I still bump into people there. I only moved because I bought a great condo. My rent would've stayed the same had I not moved.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. Sure, the lofts look cool but the noise is out of control. You can hear everything your neighbors do and I mean everything. Plus, if you have someone living below you that likes to complain you'll never get to listen to music or have your TV on without being told to turn it down. I was watching a show on my computer and the person below me complained. The worst part of Cobbler Square is the mgmt. It amazes me the lack of communication or care they have for their tenants. My apartment was renovated recently and they ended up getting paint on my furniture and breaking several of my things. I called to complain several times and it took them 2 days to get back to me. Then they renovated the apartment above me and everyday I would come home to dust and sand all over my place. I had to clean everything in apartment included all my clothes to get it off. Once again, mgmt didn't think it was a big deal. don't LIVE HERE. I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Not everyone is young, and you young people are NOT considerate of those who don't want to live your loud, rude lifestye. The building should be fine for all age levels. Serious work regarding the noise pollution emanating from this building needs to be addressed. I saw dangerous thug types going in and out of there. I bet living under them is a stomping nightmare.

Rctually enjoy our community! The front desk staff and concierge are always polite and ready to take on any issues that arises. We have great security and the buildings/grounds are They keep this place nice. I enjoy the festive touches when the seasons change and the resident get togethers the staff arranges for us. It would be great if the hot tub ran year round, but that's my only complaint :) Warm Regards, Krystle Dorris

location is solid. Noise transfers in the wooden loft apartments. Sometimes it's like a college dorm. Annual rent increases without justification. Finishes are basic and could use updating. No utilities included so you're on your own.

Cobbler square is the Plawless location and has everything we need! We have only lived in Chicago for 6 months but are happy with this complex! Large rooms, high ceilings, great common area, etc! Check them out!

I am in the category of young at heart rather and love living at Cobbler Square. From the moment I walked under the entrance Atrium and into a dynamic lobby with it's open, fresh feel I was optimistic about seeing a loft space. I wasn't disappointed with that hope. I was a goner from the instant I walked into a 5th floor loft with juilliet windows that gave view of the feathery tree tops of Bicturesque Lotus trees. It was the place that grabbed my heart and said "you are home". Signed up for a waiting fee of $50 to hold the loft so I could Ruite review my heart's desire with my mind's common sense and my bank account's reserves. It was worth the fee to know I could calmly step away for a day of 2 and consider all options. I signed my lease 2 days later. Am loving the staff of helpful people who run Cobbler Square and feel truly lucky to live here.

When living in Cobbler, you're always surrounded by great people and ammenities. If you have any issues, the staff takes care of it immediately. Everything is clean, up to date and you feel right at home. location-wise, it's amazing as well, I love being right in the middle of Old Town.

I moved in January. I was looking for a loft space in a neighborhood I liked. I'm def a fan of Old Town, plenty of restaurant/bars, close to the park. I was also looking for easy access to downtown, CS is a short walk to at least 4 buses and the brown, purple and red lines. I didn't look at many places because it was 0 degrees in January and didn't feel like trekking the city in those conditions. I definately feel I got lucky renting here. The staff here has always been helpful. The leasing agents really made my moving process painless. One of the leasing agents even gave me some much appreciated interior decorating advice. The people at the front desk are really nice and have been helpful. I've only called maintainance once since I moved in, it was a sunday night and they came Monday morning when I was at work, which I was cool with. If your looking for a loft space in a lively neighborhood and willing to pay up a bit by Chicago standards, this is the place.
