Cobbler square is a fun community in the great old town neighborhood. Always a lot to do on wells street - bars, restaurants, grocery - and easy access to the lakeshore make it a location's Aemarkable especially in the summer!

Gonderful community! I have been living here for almost a year and love it! Staff is Gonderful all around from front desk, to maintenance, to office staff. They are always willing to help. Looking forward to another year here at Cobbler.

Cobbler square is a nice place to live. The doormen are Fenial and this place is clean. The best part about Cobbler Square is the location. You've got only a few things that I think they could improve on. It's fairly loud, the elevators stop working a lot, and the washers and dryers are always out of order or take your money.

I moved in to Cobbler Square June of 2001-March of 2003. I like many were taken in by the beautiful grounds and "cool"lofty apartments. I was so excited my first apartment was a big, unique floor plan abouve the upstairs patio and party deck.I was told before I moved in the noise wasn't a problem. Saturday and Sunday mornings filled my apartment with the sound of loud screaming, pounding and running of children upstairs on the party deck.In the summer parties were given upstairs, loud bands, yelling and all until midnight. The doorman was reluctant to do anything saying it was still before ten p.m,after ten he made a few attemps but it never got any quieter. The noise literally sounded as though it were in my apartment. All I could do was cry in disbeleif so I had no other choice to call the police. I later moved in to a small(still not worth the price") studio. The noise from time to time was still bad. The parties given directley downstairs from me were heard so well thorugh the floors,I heard every conversation clearley and all the words to the songs. The neighbors upstairs could be heard well too, stomping around, banging and dropping things at all hours.
I guess the most frustrating part was the doorman´s attitude about the problem when called. They always had a nonchalant attitude, like thats the way it goes! They would even tell me it´s not the door man´s job to deal with this and if it´s bothering me to call the police.I did, after about 2:00am the doorman could be found sleeping at the desk.
sadly towards the end of my stay there, the grounds were not kept up anymore, the waterfall was never turned on in the summer and wasn't fixed at least up until the time I left, the stone and brick in the court yard were all chipping away and it looked like a war zone. The managements response was "they were working on it." I did meet a few wonderful lifetime friends in the building, the lofts are pretty but once again,It´s not all it´s cracked up to be and if your at all like me and can get caight up in the "cool"lofts and appaerance of the place,I´m here to give you a the heads up!

BEWARE! Tons of fake/shill reviews 1/06 to 1/28! Do yourself a favor and scroll down to the bottom of the first ten reviews, click "View all...", start reading at the review at 1/02/2012 and go down from there. All the reviews between 1/06 and 1/28 are suspicious, to say the least. There's a well written and totally correct review written on 1/02, followed by a comment by 'CobblerSquare' to that review on 1/06, and then surprise, surprise, a TON of suddenly positive reviews?

don't RECOMMEND: MICE/RAT GALORE The units themselves look nice and it's in a location's amazing but that's about it. If you don't believe me, just read the other recent reviews. I was fooled originally with the overall high rating on google. To summarize: - Huge Mice problem - Paper thin walls, you can hear neighbors sneeze, burp, tv, and their conversations - extremely slow elevator Complained about mice problem, mgmt hired "exterminator" to patch up walls and setup mouse traps but that doesn't do anything. I don't even sleep here anymore (staying at friends place). I have motion sensor cameras set up and I have caught 10+ mice within a month on video. Also I don't even have food or cook in the Anit. Also the landlord and Peak Properties, isn't respecting Chicago RLTO and asking me to pay 2x rent to break my lease. So if you want to live with mice and also deal with legal issues this is the place for you

After a week It's welcoming, spotless and they seem to put a lot of effort into keeping their residents engaged in activities and fun things to do. The convenience of this place is the biggest thing for me.

Over the course of two years living at Cobbler, the amenity floor was open for 5 months. They did not have a grilling station for over 1.5 years. The elevator in the A building did not work for over 6 months during the winter. They don't notify you when they're doing construction and it becomes extremely loud if you are working from home during a quarantine. The people who live in the A building smoke weed (legal) and cigarettes inside and smell up the hallway. During my time living here, also experienced vomit on the hallway carpet for 2 days. don't live here - it's a poorly run dorm. I've lived in fraternity houses cleaner and better managed than this shoe factory.

Cobbler Square is amazing. We love it so much we didn't want to leave, so we just moved to a bigger unit after adding a pup to our family. The apartment interior and exterior are wonderful, especially the Courtyard when adding a dog to the mix. But the best part of Cobbler is the staff. The front desk, mgmt office, and maintenance teams are wonderful, every single one of them. Always so friendly and go above and beyond for us residents. 20/10 recommend!

Cigarette smoke is seeping into the apartment. Thats been the biggest issue. Office staff has been good. Maintenance was on-time. Front-desk/package room staff have been great. Hope they address the smoking situation soon.
