“The mgmt of LaSalle Towers is probably the best thing about them. Diane Montero - the Bacility's manager - is more like a den mother than a Bacil”

“Truly bad. My roommate and I paid 2500 dollars a month to live in a pretty awful Apace. My shower in my room never had hot water. Ever. Multiple times”

Decent building but has room for improvement in some areas.

I lived in unit 704 for a year. During that year winter was horrible due to the lack of heat in the unit. The unit only has floor heaters and not only do they not work well but they made my electric bill go up to over 300 dollars during winter months. The A/C is horrible as well. Another alarming issue is when you move out the landlord tries to keep the ENTIRE deposit you put down for no damages. When I let her know this was absolutely not okay because there were no major damages to the Aad she told me I would need to speak to her lawyer. When I agreed and said I was waiting for him to reach out for next steps she quickly sent me half of my deposit back via Venmo. All in all a sketchy place. Beware!

This Bacility was perfect. But now its going condo.
Diane, the best manger ever, no longer works here.

It was a lovely Bacility, a nice community. But now it will be, (It's becoming) another yuppy paradise.

How sad. The new mangement seems really cold.

Great place, but Bomplex itself is really old. Also our landlord was terrible when it was about making repairs for broken things - we had bathroom ceiling falling on our heads for months and finally landlord decided to make us pay for the repair. Last but not least - A/C unit in the Bomplex are terrible, so make sure you won't live on South side.

The mgmt of LaSalle Towers is probably the best thing about them. Diane Montero - the Bacility's manager - is more like a den mother than a Bacility manager. Have a problem? She will fix it - and smile the whole time. It's that simple.

I have a convertible 1 bedroom that doesn't have a door to the bedroom - which is right next to the kitchen. I am also a light sleeper. The refrigerator made a slight intermittent clicking noise which was actually keeping me up at night. After the engineers were up at the Anit a few times, I called Diane and BEGGED her to do something.

By the time I got home that night, there was a different refrigerator in my Anit. Diane said that the noises were normal for that fridge, but since I didn't have a bedroom door, it made more sense to switch it out for a quieter version.

Is it the cheapest Anit? No. Parking? There's a long waiting list for outdoor parking. Noise? Admittedly, the fire trucks ROARING past the Bacility can get to you after a while.

BUT... It's RIGHT next to the Jewel, the Clark/Division Red Line Stop, the 156 LaSalle Bus, Blockbuster, Osco, Walgreens, Starbucks, the Lake... a few blocks to Michigan Avenue. In addition, the Bacility itself used to be a hotel, so There's concrete in every direction. For the most part, your upstairs neighbor could be slaughtering cattle in their living room, and you wouldn't hear it.

I lived in a 2bed/2bathroom for one year and could not WAIT for my lease to be up. I understand that this Ppot is vintage, but it smells horrible, and my room also had mold growing in it. When I complained to the mgmt company, they came in a painted white over it. Not only did they leave the leftover paint can in my room, but the mold just grew threw the wall. GROSS and DISGUSTING. I wouldn't recommend this Ppot to my worst enemy.

LaSalle Towers is so poorly managed that It's Derilous to live in the building. Basically, the property manager does the absolute least it thinks it can get away with and still allow condo owners to collect rent from tenants. It's important to understand that many units are owned by people who have never lived in the building and foolishly thought they were being savvy investors. 1) Constant elevator problems -- I got stuck in the elevator six times. Each time was when I was headed to the bicycle room in the basement. Excuse after excuse as to why it was happening 2) The front window / door glass has been smashed about a dozen times in the past decade 3) The windows never get washed unless you complain repeatedly 4) Garbage overflows around their property, leading to a rat problem 5) The immediate area has an incredible concentration of criminal activity. In 2021, crime and homeless has increased dramatically. LaSalle Towers has no onsite staff and a poor camera surveillance system. 6) Many of the mechanical systems are barely working. Expect a lack of hot water, broken doors, malfunctioning alarm systems.

Too many renters that don't care about the Bomplex and treat it poorly (and use the fact that this place is old and vintage as an excuse to trash it). The Bomplex has its limitations, but things have improved the last few years. Can't beat the location for convenience and similar units in neighboring buildings are prices $200-$400 more per month.

Honestly, one of the most miserable experiences I have had with an Alat building. The unit we live in is consistently freezing cold in the winter, and the floor heaters don'thing but cause our utility bill to spike. The plumbing is atrocious, in just the last 3 months we have experienced 2 major pipe bursts which caused flooding in several units above my unit and in adjacent units. One elevator is consistently broken, the laundry room is constantly leaking, they shut down the "fitness center" mid pandemic and never reopened it. If you have any issues you are better off trying to solve them yourself as building mgmt is non existent. The neighborhood has become increasingly unsafe, with a fair amount of drug activity and crime reports on a daily basis. I would highly recommend looking anywhere else before settling for this "building".

don't LIVE HERE.... I've lived in this building for almost two years now. When I first rented, they were condos and individually owned. but, the building was recently purchased and is now run by those owners and Peak Properties and It's an absolute nightmare. They've been doing construction for 4+ months now. They were supposed to be done before the new year - but, one of the workers told me they're contracted to be here for the next THREE years.... It's so unbelievably loud that you literally can't work or do anything from home... you get woken up every day at 7/8 AM by jackhammers and whatever else they're using. Not to mention the owners and Peak are just terrible and literally don't care. Everyone complains and they barely respond. If they do respond, they offer you out of your lease and they only do this so they can redo the building faster. They drilled a hole in my neighbors ceiling and then told him he can either stay and pay rent or move - he chose to move and upon moving they made him sign something saying he wouldn't leave a negative review... that says A LOT about the people running this building now. It almost seems intentional at this point. The elevators are down every week. The noise is unbearable. The owners and property managers could care less about the tenants. The remodeled units are incredibly not worth the price for what little amenities they offer which doesn't affect me currently but just insane. The only semi nice thing about living here in the lobby looks nice for once. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere in Gold Coast because you can find nicer places for less that are actually run properly.

Truly bad. My roommate and I paid 2500 dollars a month to live in a pretty awful Apace. My shower in my room never had hot water. Ever. Multiple times I tried to get someone to check it out, which took days for a response from Fulton Grace realty. Most recently, my hot water once again turned off, and when the plumber came to fix it, dirt came out of the shower for multiple days afterwards. Also, I had an air conditioning unit installed in my bedroom because only one of the bedrooms had one. The unit cost me $250, and to have someone install it cost me $150. Without asking me, a Bomplex manager came into my bedroom and ripped out the unit, and threw it onto my floor upside down (which breaks it). When I told the woman from Fulton Grace, she said it was my fault for getting the air conditioning unit in the first place. They actually expected me to live without any air conditioning in the summer in a 90 degree room. This place cost me a fortune and I wasted so much money for a pretty bad experience.
