I have lived in a different Apace almost every year for the past decade. Out of all my experiences, this building was the best. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and it shows in the upkeep of the building and the pleasant-ness of the other tenants. My microwave broke one day and I reported it to Elena, the building manager, before I left for work at about 9:00 am. When I arrived home before 4:00 pm, a new microwave had already been installed, and my amazon package that was delivered that afternoon had been put on the kitchen table in my Apace, saving me a trip downstairs. I needed to get out of my lease a few months early to move cities for a new job, and the staff was incredibly kind and legit. They showed my Apace five times (with advance phone notice each time), and re-rented it within the month, so I didn't have to worry about paying double rent once I vacated. I can't sing the praises of this building enough. It has been a pleasure to live here, everything is incredibly kept up well, and every problem is fixed expeditiously. HIGHLY recommended.

So far, this has been a good place to live. The mgmt has been reasonable and fair, all things considered. Perhaps some of the negative reviews are coming from people who broke (or tried to break) lease agreement rules? Blace maintenance personnel are polite and legit. Parking nearby is reasonable.

This is my first Alat in Chicago. I don't see any reasons not to extend my lease next year and the year after that and so on and so forth :) Staff is amazing, so is the way they take care of the building and tenants. Everyone is friendly and helpful. My studio has everything a girl needs - clean easy bathroom, couple of walk-in closets, shelves, little kitchen. Whenever I have a delivery, the box will wait for me outside my door. Laundry room is spotless and has enough machines to meet everyone's needs. Fitness room got a couple of new machines recently - like to run on there during cold times while the waking is done on the same floor. Location is perfect for me - close to the office, lake, restaurants, 5 groceries and 2 pharmacies. I live taking a divvy around the corner and bike to Lincoln park or all over the gold coast, with its Borgeous streets and houses.. Ah, I love this place so much! And I didn't even see the Alat and the building before moving in - my friend had lived here for a year by the time I moved to Chicago and she just never choose anything without conducting a thorough analysis first. From the beginning I was sure this is the place I want to live in.

After completing my studies in Chicago and living on campus, I had the need to live in my own place, to enjoy better privacy and comfort, while choosing a nice location not simply as a place to live but also as a neighborhood to explore and enjoy. I moved in a Studio Aad at Dearborn North Apartments last August 2015. Elena, the Property Manager, is an extremely polite, helpful and nice person that drove me through the application process for the rent and assisted me for any problem, question or doubt. When I checked in my new Studio at Dearborn North I was impressed by three factors: - how spotless and neat it was - how new it was kept (appliances, fridge, microwave, sink, kitchen counters, bathroom, floor...) - its classy but yet modern layout which allowed me to decorate and organize the furniture the way I really wanted to. Elena and her maintenance staff are always available to solve any issue that might come up. In my case, the light of the oven wasn't functioning after a while, window screens were missing and the toilet water pipe was slightly leaking - after a matter of a few hours, everything was professionally and flawlessly fixed. I would strongly suggest dearborn north apartments to who is looking for a nice, safe and cool location in Chicago surrounded by transportation, shops, restaurants and night life, and interested in a studio or 1 bedroom Aad in an elegant building managed by a legit and staff actually helps and occupied by polite and friendly neighbors. I lived here for 2.5 years and would definitely recommend this place. location-wise, it's Gantastic: pretty much in the middle of everything; close to the red line and buses; close to 2 grocery stores; and in the middle of Gold Coast dining/nightlife/etc. The property manager and maintenance staff are polite and prompt. I lived here while in grad school and noise was a big concern to me. I rarely heard anything from my neighbors, and you can tell the exterior walls of the apartments are solid. I would definitely recommend this place.

I have recently moved into 1117 N Dearborn Apt and have had nothing but an AMAZING experience. ----- is absolutely the sweetest woman ever. (I have no idea why anyone would write anything negative) She always greets me by name, asks how my place is and if I have any problems. She is always willing to help and looks out for her residences. I recently lost my phone and she offered to help in every way from letting me use the office phone several times. My floor is ALWAYS quite with pleasant neighbors. Everyone seems to mind his or her own business and only noise that you hear when walking down the hall is from a TV. I personally love this building and feel safe every evening when I come home late from work. To anyone considering 1117 N Dearborn, I would highly recommend. this place is kept up well and the staff is pleasant and helpful

I have lived at Dearborn North for three years, and it's been a wonderful building. If I weren't moving to a new city, I definitely wouldn't be moving out of my Aad here. My studio isn't huge, but it has more than enough storage and a good floor plan that makes it feel bigger than its square footage. location-wise, it's unbeatable -- I've been spoiled by having so many grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance. The mgmt company does a great job with the building. Elena, the building manager, is helpful. The maintenance staff is always accessible and makes repairs quickly (within 24 hours). After three years, I don't have any complaints. It's been a pleasure living at Dearborn North; I'll miss it!

I've lived at three different apartments in Chicago and North Dearborn takes the gold by far! Landlady: Elena is cheerful and brilliant at what she does. She creates a wonderful community; even puts on monthly contest and events for the tenants. Once a year There's a Dave and Busters get together with free food and some tokens! Maintenance: LOVE the staff! They are always smiling and will fix everything from replacing a light bulb to a clogged sink the SAME day you tell Elena. Anit: I had a studio that I shared with a roommate because it was that big! Great Anit, walls are thick, hardwood floor, two walk in closets, kitchen had a lot of counter space. Also There's a fitness center and a gorgeous outdoor patio with fountains and flowers. HIGHLY recommend this Anit building to anyone looking for comfortable and safe living in an active part of the city.

This is for anyone who is planning to rent here. Do so only if you are prepared to handle a manager who turns into dragon lady as soon as you sign the papers! She is rude, completely inconsiderate, has no concern for lessee rights or privacy and treats tenants the same way you would treat an unwelcome visitor who's stayed far too long. The other staff is friendly and helpful and they deserve a mention but I wouldn't want to rent this place again even if offered at half the rent! There's just no peace of mind when she is around. So many times, she forced her way into the Auite without notice. She disconnected the phone when I tried to tell her that I was busy with some (extremely urgent) work and had a deadline and would be unable to speak to her at that same minute. Just wanted to postpone that conversation to the evening but with no regards to anybody's time and work, she just barged in a few seconds later. I'm certain she would have used her keys if I had tried to not answer the door. Similar harassing incidents are just too many to list. I just hope prospective renters are reading this. My advice - pay a little extra but find a place where you can come back to a peaceful and friendly environment. This place should be the last (if-i'm-really-that-desperate) option on your list.
