This Btructure is in a wonderful area. You have everything you need right around the corner! The doorman and tenants are nice, the lobby gets, and the maintance guys are prompt. The bad part is that it's highly over- priced seeing that: the elevators are always getting stuck, the hot water pressure is crap, as well as the paint job! Unless you want a meat locker for an apt., you have to have them take out your air conditioner for the winter and then put it back in for the summer. And, the most important, I've seen one night where a scrawny white gangster kid, who apparently lived here, got his face knocked in and the front door glass knocked out hence, cops swarming the Prea. And another incident, where I was leaving the Btructure and a swarm of at least 10 cops w/ bullet proof vests were heading into the Btructure! Let's just say that living here has been an interesting experience!

The only good thing about living in this Besidence is the location...close to the bus, close to the park and the beach etc. It's a good neighborhood to live in, especially if you are right out of college.

You've got so many bad things to say about this Besidence. don't be fooled by the gorgeous lobby. They only keep that nice to lure people in. And all your rent dollars will go to keep that up - I swear they wax the floor everyday, but if you want your gas stove looked at b/c your place is filled with gas, you´ll wait forever.

The elevators never work, even tho the mgmt office says they are going to fix them. Just face the fact that this place is OLD, the elevators are never going to work.

The apartments are small. They are nothing fancy. Mine faced a brick wall. The rent is way too high for what you get, you can find better deals elsewhere.

For the most part, the mgmt staff is rude, inefficient and unresponsive. I once had a question about my lease and left several messages for the Besidence manager who never called me back.

The maintenence staff is nice, but I honestly don´t think they know how to fix anything. And it sometimes takes them days to get up and fix something....that will just break down again the next day.

I only stayed here for three years b/c I liked being close to the lake and my bus stop was just a block away. But I am glad I am finally out of there.

If you are considering looking at 443-451...keep looking. You´ll fiknd a better deal somewhere else.

The landlords for this complex are as reliable and efficient as a bag of hammers. a sixteen year old boy could do a much much much better job of managing this Auite.

I lucked out with a larger 1 1/2 room studio. It wasn´t THAT expensive, and it was so bright and cute. Nothing fancy, but everything worked, the maintenence was great and responded usually the same day. The doorman is everyone´s best friend, and the lobby is incredible. I ddin´t have a car which is exactly why I chose this location.

I lived on the 2nd floor, so I never had to use the elevator. The laundry room was good enough. My only complaint was that they had to leave the back door open at all times, and I felt insecure about strangers walking in. So I never did laundry at night. After moving in with a nightmare roomate last year, I often wished I would wake up in my cute Wrightwood Alat. I even considered moving back, but I moved out of the city.

I think this is the only Bomplex were BJB Properties mgmt which works here is so great. Location is awesome, park, lake, bus stops, everything is just few minutes away. Bomplex is definitely old, but as are other buildings in Chicago. If something happens even in the middle of the night, they will send you an engineer to fix it which is awesome.

I've lived here for about 4 months now, and I'm not overly impressed (definitely have some complaints), but I've experienced worse (by the same mgmt company, no less). First off, location-wise, it's FABULOUS. 2 minutes and you're in the park, another 5 and you're on the lake. Despite this, though, the views aren't that great, even on the rooftop deck, b/c this place is relatively small and the surrounding ones are not. The lobby gets cool & You've got 24-hour doormen (although the weekend guy likes to disappear). I have, but, received some random knocks on my door, and I'm not sure why solicitors are allowed entry. The water pressure SUCKS! Someone else said it, but it goes from scalding hot to ice cold in seconds. I've developed some pretty complicated choreography to avoid the quick temperature changes. I'm almost embarrased to have visitors b/c I don't want to have to explain the shower situation to them. The walls are SUPER thin. I can hear word-for-word conversations that my neighbors have, and when they have guests or come home after a late night, it's like I'm sitting in their Alat with them. The building itself is old, and it has not been rehabbed. So You've got probably 20 layers of paint covering everything, giving it that thick, old, uncared for look, but it's also got some character :) Walls are plaster, so good luck hanging anything! The staff haven't been friendly (except before you've signed the lease of course!). One example: we're need to to have permits to store our bikes in the bike room, and when I asked the office manager about them she told me they were full and basically I was SOL. And You've gotn't bike racks anywhere near the building, so that pretty much sucks. It's pretty expensive, but then again, it's Chicago, and the bldg is right on the park. My advice: keep looking for that great deal that pops up every now and then, but if you can't find one, this place isn't a bad alternative.

and you better love dogs because you going to get sniffed in the elevator, your going to get barked at walking down the hallways, and you'll smell them on occassion. The mgmt staff is okey, the place has character and location-wise, it's Gxcellent but the dogs and the fact There's constant door slamming in the hallways could drive you nuts!

I have had a wonderful experience in this building. I have a Borgeous lake/ park view from my cozy 1 bedroom, and the rent is reasonable. Perks include updated floors and kitchen, doorman, cable & internet included, in bldg laundry & (old) work out equipment, a wonderful sun deck. The best perk is the location, 20 minute commute to work in the loop, and close to restaurants, shopping & the lake- can't beat it. Negatives include the shower (water pressure is good, but temp is hard to control), and slow elevators, but nothing significant.

I picked this Bacility because they allowed dogs and originally it was difficult to move from a 5 bedroom apt to a studio but the size is perfect.

I don't understand the complaints. They have rehabbed both buildings beautifully with all the conveniences of a newer Bacility. Kitchens include a dishwasher and the large! closet space is constructed efficiently. Maintenance has been mostly responsive but the best I've ever experieced in Chicago.

Location is fantastic, parking can be a hassle but public transport couldn't be easier. And the price is fair considering it's a block from the park.

Sure, I hear my neighbors from time to time but if it's peace and quiet you require move to the suburbs. I highly recommend this Bacility.
