Everyone who knows this establishment knows that it is unlike any other and is not advertised as grossly for a reason. People who apply and look to live here have a strong understanding of wanting to find a long term rental in Chicago. My partner and I are completely dissatisfied with the process of leasing a unit here under Jen Danisch's management team. Under the circumstances we were not able to see the apartment in person but knew it was one of a kind, we started the application process without even hearing from the office, that is how much we wanted to live here. 24 hours later we received an email confirming the approval of our applications, and how to go about electronically sending 1st month's rent, security deposit and admin fees. Less than 24 hours later there was no response from the team. After leaving Jen voicemails and emailing Ellie Danisch about confirming who exactly we were paying since their company is not clearly associated with popular banks, we finally got a hold of someone. Seconds later we submitted our payments, only to receive and unfortunate email stating that the unit had already been leased just 10 minutes before. Their policy is that unless the funds and applications are processed they do not consider a unit leased. This is protocol in most places, however, if this process is expected to be done in less than 24 hours, the management team should be readily available and communicate the fact that there could basically be 50 prospect tenants sending the Buckingham property over $2000 at the same time you are. The overall dissatisfaction here is with the insane expectation for the tenant and zero to none for the leasing team. Attention prospect tenant: You must be able to sign, pay, and complete a lease signing within 6 hours of receiving your congratulation email, no questions asked- because you will not get answers until the next day (hopefully) and by that time the unit will already be rented. Time is certainly money for the Danisch ladies. Best of luck!
