For the price, it cannot be beat. I have lived all over town and this has the most amenities (pool, theater, full gym, etc.) and location right in the mix! Near Wrigley and the lake, I have paid 50% more for less. Would highly recommend.

Have lived here about 6 years. SUPERB access to transportation, awesome views, great neighbors, and most staff are pretty good, but quality varies significantly whicch speaks to management issues. WINDOWS ARE AN ISSUE! Owners say they won't have to be replaced for 7-10 years... I'm not so sure cuz mine have blown out during high winds, however, maintenance fixed them and they're pretty good now. Tony and Lawrence are superb doormen that are always pleasant and conversive. Store is a little pricey, but I've always found what I needed. Office staff is generally OK but some are not very plesant .. this has changed since the building converted to condos. Previous management was consistently responsive. Perhaps Connie (the newest manager) will get things back on track. I don;t call maintenance often, but response time has definitely declined over the years and clearly sincce the building was converted - cost containment/staff cuts??? Some calls for service do not get wirtten up when they are called in... if you visit the office, they seem to move quicker, but the work has always been adequately performed the first time. Pool and deck are great, but since they sold cabanas, the pool is like a ghost town. Unions have been picketing outside for months, though I have seen them at other buildings owned by the same company. I supsect they are using cheap non-union labor, which leads to the question: Are upgrades and repairs quality?? All that said, let the buyer beware, but I am considering a purchase here.

I purchased a two bedroom condo in early April of 2003 and I am still attempting to get my punch list completed. I have never dealt with such extremely incompetent management. I like the building, the other tenants, and the amentities, but this fiasco of calling over and over in a fained attempt to get what I paid for has driven me to the point of selling the unit next April.

Other points:
Assessment fee is very reasonable
Windows need replacement/repair
Allow any size dog
Laundry room needs some drainage repair (foam comes out of floor and gets slippery)
Doormen/security are great
Nice workout room
Property management team needs to be replaced
This is one god awful building including the employees. The apartments are in horrible shape. I checked my apartment out when I first came to apply and it was in horrible shape. The agent said the person just moved out but I came bak two weeks later to sign my lease and nothing had been done. Filth sat on the carpet for that long so when it was cleaned it didn't come out. I will be moving as soon as my lease is up. I have had numerous maintenance issues that have not been fixed. The agent promised all of the work would be done by the time I moved in, I GUESS NOT!!!

There have been union picketers outside the building for a couple of days. This makes me really wonder what kind of workers run this building. Park Place must be getting cheap help to run the building to save costs but this is why the quality of the building is horrible. Now I understand why the cheif engineer is so incompetant, they probably are not paying him enough but i suggest he join the union. I am pro union and suggest that Park Place hire all union workers. Workers who are competant and want to work. i have heard the cheif engineer complain so many times about hating the building and not wanting to work. I have also heard from a steady source that he drinks on the job which also makes me wonder how carful he is taking care of the building. All I can say is Park Place needs union workers which will improve the over all qualtiy of my home.

I lived in PPT for 2 years, had it not been for the economy I'd still live there. I was in a 1 bedroom on the 41 floor facing south. My rent was $1120.00 a month, which in my opinion was fair considering the size and view.

The building isn't perfect, but then again the building where my folks own their 2 million dollar condo on State Street is in much worse shape, and it doesn’t offer any of the amenities that PPT has.

During my time there the staff was friendly, the view was to die for, and the amenities were great. I never had a serious issue or complaint. Sure, the kitchen could use better appliances, and the bathrooms could be a little nicer. If those things make or break a home for you, then PPT might not be what you're looking for.

My biggest complaint was that the parking garage wasn't heated during the winter. I also suggest paying extra to park the car on your own, as the staff isn't very careful parking for you.

Aside from that, I loved living in PPT, and hope to move back as soon as I get work in Chicago.

Your comments on this site make me laugh. I have lived in the building for 23 years. I am what they call and old time resident. I have seen many changes at this property, staff & upgraded amenties. These comments make me laugh....you can not please everyone all the time and my answer to these complainers is move out. unless you purchased you should have no reason to stay. I say good bye to you. You are bringing my new home down. People or should I say children need to grow up, have some respect and stop spreading rumors. I love this place and have proved it by living here and purchasing after 23 years!!
After have owned a unit in Park Place for a year now I definitely realize how great all the amenities are. With a huge fitness center right on the main floor I have no excuse not to visit it several times a week.

Yes, the convenience store is a little pricy but that´s what it is, a convenienve store - comparable to a 7-11.

How many buildings do you know that have their own theater for the residents??

Office Center, amazing pool, wonderful bar-b-q area, best doormen... I could keep going.

I lived here for 4 years, the view is beautiful but that´s about it. It´s way overpriced for what you get - building is old and they don´t upgrade; walls are cracking due to the swaying and wind and they don´t fix that; I was constantly plagued with spiders (believe me, I dusted and kept my apartment clean); heating/air conditioning system outdated; appliances outdated; kitchen cupboards are cheap painted metal; bathroom fixtures were outdated and cheap. I could go on and on. The new management was terrible, they couldn´t wait to get us out if we didn´t buy in, for what they wanted price-wise, you´d be crazy to buy one of the units. When I left the management claimed I didn´t give appropriate notice, which I did and continues to tell people that I owe another month´s worth of rent (NOT TRUE!) which has hurt when I tried to rent. The maintenance staff is lazy and snoopy - I had a file with my medical records on a bookshelf and I came home to find one of the maintenance guys reading it. The convenience store is way overpriced....OK, someone stop me. Do not rent here!
