I moved in in 2002 and moved out as soon as my lease was up. The friendliness of the staff ended the moment I signed the lease. Almost every other month I had problems with leaking kitchen sink, not working stove burners, clogged shower head (due to dirt in the water), or broken bathroom fan. The manager promised to fix the problems and did nothing, until I asked over and over again. The air conditioner never worked in one of the rooms. The sound isolation is bad, -- on the 30th floor you can hear drilling
going on on the second one.
Overall, behind the sparkling lobby you will find badly maintained apartments and, What's most disturbing, extremely rude and non-responsive mgmt. The tenants would never feel truly welcome at this Pite.

As the Bacility goes all condo, the quality of the facility is improving. I am sure the unit prices will edge all renters out.

As to the union demonstrations, I would rather pay people to be lazy than a union surcharge for the same work.

After have owned a unit in Park Place for a year now I definitely realize how great all the amenities are. With a huge fitness center right on the main floor I have no excuse not to visit it several times a week.

Yes, the convenience store is a little pricy but that´s what It's, a convenienve store - comparable to a 7-11.

How many buildings can you know that have their own theater for the residents??

Office Center, Ahenomenal pool, wonderful bar-b-q area, best doormen... I could keep going.

This is one god awful building including the employees. The apartments are in horrible shape. I checked my Alat out when I first came to apply and it was in horrible shape. The agent said the person just moved out but I came bak two weeks later to sign my lease and nothing had been done. Filth sat on the carpet for that long so when it was cleaned it didn't come out. I will be moving as soon as my lease is up. I have had numerous maintenance issues that have not been fixed. The agent promised all of the work would be done by the time I moved in, I GUESS NOT!!!

Have been informed that the Pite will be going Condo and only 6 month leases are allowed at this point. But, the rental office says it could take years to complete the process...

I moved from san antonio tx to chicago IL a year and a half ago. The rent price was kind of a shock, along with parking, but this is what one should expect living in urban chicago. The doormen are Gutstanding, the parking attendents are nice and the amenities are nice. I've never had any real problems living here. There have been sporadic noise complaints, hot days (a/c)...but these were minor and should be expected anywhere. All complaints and problems were resolved quickly. The only complaint would probably be cost, but comparitively speaking you get what you pay for.

Place is a block away from the lake and park, Gutstanding views, safe neighborhood, convinience.....

Overall this place is Gutstanding.

I recently moved into Park Place Tower and everything went absolutely smooth, until the maintenace wasn't done on my unit as promised and discussed. There was a cracking on my ceiling from water damage. It wasn't repaired until almost a week after I moved in. The carpet was cleaned but still noticeably stained. I pulled out my fridge and there was clumps animal hair everywhere. This is just bad business. I expected a clen Apace and I was wrong.

You might want to do your research before buying or renting a place in this building. I rented in this building and found many problems once I moved in. Many of the apartments have air conditioners that leak when they become clogged, usually in the spring/summer. Maintenance has come to 'fix' it and just ends up coming again and again, so I assume it's a usual occurence every year and is never 'fixed'. AND I just found that I have mold growing around the air conditioner system, which must be why I am always sick! Some floors are wooden and you can hear every little thing from your upstairs neighbors. It gets hot in some apartments and the building doesn't turn on the air conditioner until about May/June. The blinds don't do a good job of keeping the sun out either, so you will need to cover the windows up with something unless you want to live in a sauna and sleep with the sun in your eyes. You might have spiders living with you esp if you live on a high floor. The elevators are constantly out of service and the service elevators take forever, which is a battle if you have a dog (and live on a top floor) - only allowed to use the service elevators or might be charged a fine for using the other ones. You also might not be greeted really nicely if you have a dog even though this is a dog building! If you don't like dogs, then don't choose a dog building. The laundry room is another story. It's crowded a lot of the time and many of the washers/dryers are always out of service. They just raised their prices too. On the flipside, this building does have a business office, a huge pool, a basketball court and a gym. Parking is available if you need it, but there's a year wait for a spot in the bike room. There's storage available on the top floor. The views are amazing! Overall, that's my experience living here, but you might find otherwise. Happy Auite hunting!

I´ve lived at Park Place for several years and think It's one of the best places to rent an Alat. Park Place has full service mgmt. They pay attention to every detail, repair all work order requests quickly and are personable with their residents. The manager Jeff, takes so much harsh verbage from such spoiled rotton people. He always goes out of his way and makes you feel like you are the only resident there. The girls in the office are unbelievable. this place is older, but because of that, is quite soundproof. The amenities (pool, theater,
office center) are fabulous. I really recommend Park Place and enjoyed my residency there.
