This is absolutely the worst building I’ve ever lived in: - Rats flourish in and outside of the building, with poorly managed dumpsters attracting them on a consistent basis - Ongoing construction (basement, 3rd, 4th floors) makes the apartment nearly unlivable and unworkable during normal hours. Having lived here for the past 6 months, this construction was never communicated upfront, and Beal has been completely irresponsible regarding it - The kitchen appliances are so cheap and shoddy its an absolute joke

This building is- do not move here. Only if you are desperate to find a place, but if you are looking for somewhere to stay for a long time and be comfortable, this is not that. Building stinks, washer overcharges, thieves in the building, weird men, and just overall poor service from maintenance. Save your money for somewhere else, I wish I had.

it is absolutely awful! any good review is fake. if you have any other option, don’t live here. probably the best part is how accessible it is to public transit, but other than that, it is pain. unhelpful management, my friend had mold growing in her walls which they refused to take care of, it always smells weird, dirty, dark, expensive laundry that’s sometimes broken. packages get stolen, a literal ---- lives on the fifth floor, the place was dirty as hell when I first moved in. really really just do not recommend!

They updated the hallways, lobby, and replaced the washer and dryers. Yet it still terrible to stay here. Roaches are a continuous pain, even if you are the cleanest person around. There is no ventilation in the apartments, which births mold. They let sells people in the building and management does nothing about it. They have cameras that don't even work, for there is a thief in the building that still packages and at times floor mats from people. The walls are so thin you can hear everyone that's on the floor from the hallway. They have you pay $2.50/per washer AND Dryer load. And even in the basement where the laundry and bike room are, there are exposed wires in the ceiling. The elevator breaks down at time, and sometimes the main door to the building is broken. And they jump my rent from a "fixed" 825 to 865. And I know they'll keep raising it. Don't even come here. You will regret it! I'm moving out the second my lease is up.

Filthy, dirty, disgusting, and deplorable. This place needs a wrecking ball. The management here at the building is reprehensible, and it smells like smoke all the time. Theres mold every where, please do not rent from this building You get what you pay for. A dump!

I would not recommend this apartment building to anyone unless they are in a serious financial hardship or cannot find another apartment anywhere else in Chicago. The building is disgusting and the hallways smell terrible. Tenants smoke in their apartments leading to individual apartments smelling like smoke. My neighbor 3 apartments down smokes and my clothes stink! You can hear every single noise from your neighbors, including them snoring. The apartments themselves are small and not updated. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms causing mold. I didn't have a screen on my bathroom when I moved in and it still hasn't been replaced even though I've been here for almost a year. The washers/dryers are overpriced and the washer's don't always drain the water out and the dryer's need two cycles to dry. The management company could give two craps about this place because it's in a high demand area. There is never any parking either. It's just overall a crappy place and I would not recommend anyone living here unless they are completely out of options.

This apartment is the most disgusting place ever. They break the law on a regular basis, ignore your privacy, and are overall scumbags. The building is dark and smells so bad, and the amount of bugs and mold are intolerable. I cannot say enough bad things about this place. Please, spare yourself the horror of living here and never feeling safe and find somewhere else.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. There has been a mold infestation for 4 months and they have not done anything about it - mold is growing on the walls, ceilings and floors of my unit and several of my neighbors'. Rather than fixing the problem, they suggested I leave my heat on high at all times and leave a window open. It's disgusting and a serious health hazard.

My worst apartment so far. Lots of roaches, although did not experience bed bugs. Maintenance was a nightmare and the building engineer, Gabriella, is never around which becomes a huge pain. I got locked in my apartment overnight because my doorknob fell off, maintenance told me they were too busy to help me. The laundry situation is pretty awful, a lot of waiting and a lot of broken machines. Woke up at 2 AM once to find the police arresting someone in my hallway. Also found out that anyone in the hallway can hear you when you're talking in your apartment. So much for privacy. It's a great location (although definitely further from the Belmont stop than advertised) but I'd recommend getting something nicer outside Lakeview and taking the train.
