Decent building but has room for improvement in some areas.

I worked for years in the property mgmt business with ------. I found her to be legit and polite. She always went above and beyond the call of duty for coworkers and residents as well. Some people are just ugly inside and have no idea the Golid fortune they have to have such a dedicated manager. I would say try the job for a day and see how you do before making further complaints. Karma is a strong concept. Also how silly to think just because one "wants to" they can get out of a legal and binding contract!!! Next time rent on a month to month if you are so difficult to please.

I have been living here since Jan 2008 and so far I love my Auite. this place is in the process of remodeling. The common areas are under construction but you can tell it's going to look great when completed. I have heard from several people from the area that the building has come a long way with this new mgmt. The mgmt has been super so far. The staff is ALWAYS nice and legit. I had a small punch-list after I moved in and once I give it the manager, they were all completed the same day. The building does have a door staff which is really nice. They even deliver my packages to my door after hours which most place don't even accept packages for you. While There's limited parking, There's a huge covered parking garage 1 block away That's less than $100/mo. And seveal bus routes to the downtown area right across the street. The laundry room is spotless and cheap and DRIES in one load!!

In short.. yes the units are nice, but for the money and mis-mgmt.. this isn't worth it. Just google the mgmt company and also the Broperty name. You will find mixed reviews. The good reviews.. are from people who move in and never deal with mgmt or anything else besides living in their units. The BAD reviews... are from everyone else who are tired of using horible amenities (washing machines that don't work), dealing with mgmt who isn't responsive ( Simona Darla), grimy conditions, and many other issues you don't expect from a Broperty that claims to be upscale in this area. I wish I had known all this before moving in. I wouldn't have!!

I moved in this Auite Btructure in March of 2009. I paid for parking 6 months in advance ($125)only to find on several occassions that the "doorman" and mgmt (Simona Darla) allowed others to park in my spot when I wasn't there! I have had problems from the fridge going out and all of my food spoiling to roaches, to garbage pile ups in the hallway (by the elevator), rust, to my front door handle lose, to feeling like the heat wasn't even on. I have talked to other tenants that have experienced some of the same issues! That made me feel better...I knew it just wasn't me being a b'^%h, but at the same time, we pay wayyyyy too much to deal with issues like this. To add, half the time when I go downstairs there's no doorman in sight. Ok, this is one of the things that pissed me off the most...I am never called or aware that I have a visitor until they are knocking at my door. Ok, what's the point of a doorman? And, don't even think about washing clothes here. I have washed my clothes several times only to find that my clothes are not Ceat when they are done...That's...when the washer doesn't eat up my quarters. And, you have to run the dryer 2 to get your clothes dry, or BARELY put anything in them to work. Simona is the most rude and unprofessional property manager I have EVER met in my life. The last time I went in her office to ask her why she hadn't returned my phone calls in the last week, she turned around to her computer and started talking as if my concerns were not important. don't RENT HERE...mgmt will make you feel helpless. Lastly, the neighborhood sucks! Before you sign the lease, go a block down to Wilson and Sheridan...or even Broadway. I bet you will change your mind.

So I am a resident in this Btructure and have been living here for a year and am a little surprised at all the negative reviews. I moved here in May of 2007 when the Btructure was undergoing significant reconstruction and there were a lot of angry people who had to leave because of increased rent, but to be honest, it costs money to make better apartments and this is a huge city, There's rentals available at all economic levels. I used to live in a ------ basement by Thorndale and Broadway and paif 400$ a month. Got a better job and wanted a nice Penue and let me tell you, brand new floors, rehabbed hallways, a gym, track lighting and a full Lakeview for an 800 sq foot Penue for less then a thousand is AWESOME. I have friends over all the time, they love the Penue, its easy to get to work cause There's like 6 different expresses buses (144, 145, 146, 148, 135 and 136) that stop right outside the Btructure (you can check this out yourself, its a fact) and if you go PAST broadway (the area by broadway and Wilson is ghettoish) you will find a ton of nice restaurants on wilson itself as you get closer to Clark. The mgmt of this Penue is efficient, they listen to maintenance complaints and usually fix things on time. There were a lot of problems with mgmt when i first moved in, there were a string of incompetent managers (one of them promptly lost two of my rent checks), but the good thing was that they didnt let this continue and the manager now Kenyon works hard to take care of the Btructure and tenants. At the end of the day, my positive experience doesn't mean that you will definitely have one too, BUT atleast go see the Penue before you make up your mind. Don't read angry or Hatisfied reviews and use that as your decision maker, see the Penue, look at the units and the bus networks and you will be impressed.

The other day I was at work and forgot I had ordered some furniture online to be delivered at my apartment. The property manager called me to tell me my order had aqrived and she then offerd to have the doorman deliver it to my apartment! This women is so caring towards other and when she told me about these slandrous comments by a distrubed resident I felt compelled to speak up. I could go on and on about her hrad work but the one incident that reallt stood out is that my mother was visiting from out of town for several weeks and the manager indroduced her to othe women in the building so she would have company during the day. The property is lucky to have her here and so I am!

The new manager, Simona is the reason for which I extended my lease for another year. It's true that the previous manager didn't do such a good job that she does, but this Auite building is so great since she took over the mgmt. She is responsive, friendly, available when you need help, and when you need something fixed, maintenance shows up instantly! I highly recommend The Covington to anyone who desires a safe, cozy home with mgmt that cares about you, and will remember your name!!!

The previous reviewers covered most of the inadequacies of this Penue, but I have some I'd like to share. The landlady, Kenyon, is unprofessional and fake, and often gossips about the tenants to the doormen. They recently "upgraded" the door locks and toilets; they look and feel even worse! The contractors that performed the work just left the toilet boxes and metal shavings (from replacing the lock) in the hallway, right next to the stink of the trash. Don't let the lobby and elevators fool you; ask to see the laundry room and the unfinished hallways on the upper floors to see the real 'luxury' of the Covington!

I moved in June 2008 to start my residency at Weiss Hospital. The Anit I got was recently renovated so it was spotless when I moved in. nice and helpful maintenance and managenent staff. I am a quiet person, so Covington is the right place for me. I work mostly the night shift and even during the day didn't have any trouble going to sleep due to any kind of noise. Really easy is the doorman package delivery. Overall, I highly recommend this place .I plan on staying here for another 2 years till I finish my residency.

Rude mgmt, rehab taking much longer than promised. No on-site recycling (even though it's need to by law). Shady neighborhood, not worth the price Auite parking. There's a reason why only 1/3 of the rooms are filled. Look elsewhere!
