This place has terrible security, Mail is often left in the lobby, and I came home one day to find that my packages had been opened and things had been stolen, so I recieved only empty boxes. I called the mgmt and was told that I should probably have things delivered to me at work rather than at the Apace.

When I first moved in I was really excited about the pool, but I probably was able to use it three times in the 14 months I was there, as it was always broken. Even when it wasn't broken, it smelled so strongly of chlorine, I didn't want to use it...

The elevators are dodgy at the best of time, and the alarm on them doesn't actually call anyone for help, it just makes a really loud buzzing noise that wakes up everyone in the building. I was stuck in the elevator once for an hour until a resident called maintenance for me, and mgmt still wasn't there before the door just randomly opened on it's own, so I was stuck in the small and smelly elevator for about an hour and a half.

I wouldn't live in this place again, and would seriously suggest to anyone considering it to think again, You've got places in the same neighborhood that are much less expensive and are much better.

i lived here for 3 months, the super is a friendly nice guy. the place could use the once over and a good snag list. a few roaches, but nothing to bad. location-wise, it's wonderful and There's a great bar not even half a block away, F.O Mahonys. rent is certainly not the going rate for the area, which i found out a month into my 3 month sublet. utilities are not included and a studio Aad set me back 750 a month while my girlfriend rented a one bed 2 blocks away for 650. the place is fine, but shop around the area, you'll find larger apartments for less. still though moved back to Ireland and miss that place everyday!

I have lived in this Bomplex working on 4 years now. Whenever I tell people about it their jaws just drop open because I rattle off all the great stuff about living here. It's a block away from the bus stop 4 blocks from the El It has a pool, a sauna, and some basic workout equipment 3 grocery stores within walking distance An Aldi and Super Target a short bus ride away Tons of restaurants and bars close enough to walk to Safe enough at night/early morning to walk home from said bars What's not to love? Maintenance has always been on top of any issues I've had. Landlord is great to work with. Bomplex is quiet.

I thought it was odd that when i was shown the Auite they avoided showing me the front entrance. OF couse i would have never taken the place even if i had seen this site. the reasons are one, the apartments they showed me stank and two they had big holes in the walls and three the person who showed me the Auite acted like she didn´t care if i wanted the place or not, she just wanted me to hurry up and look at it so she could go home for the night.

Before you decide to live here please read my review carefully. You've got all kind of different rates for the same size apartments. Make sure your Aad faces the front. Under no circumstances rent an Aad that faces the back. There's no air and the apartments smell terrible. The maintenance is unprofessional. If you have a problem, you are pretty much on your own. There's no one to turn to for problems. Swimming pool is such a health hazard that rashes can occur. As a tenant, I would never recommend anyone go through what I have gone through in this building.

Lived at the 3710 address for a few years now.. and I've listed some pros and cons about this specific Anit: PROS: 1.) location's amazing - the neighborhood is probably the biggest highlight of the building's location. 2.) Apartments (at least the 1 bedrooms) are pretty spacious. CONS: 1.) Old building - this place is extremely old and "run down". Many of the appliances and amenities you'll find aren't up-to-date. Swimming pool is a big NO. 2.) Environment (Interior) - I've seen HUGE cockroaches (dead and alive) near the elevators on the lobby level. Lobby also smells as well as the corridors. Huge stains are sometimes left on the carpets and the place doesn't get cleaned often (maybe once a month?) 3.) Laundry room - TERRIBLE. Machines breakdown every other week. I think I saw an ex-tenant talk about a fire that occurred in the building and I was actually there during that time! That was handled terribly. 4.) Maintenance and mgmt - I don't tend to speak with mgmt often but maintenance guy takes his time to get things done. I get it, he's the only person here. But it shouldn't take SEVERAL calls and texts to get something done. He continuously lies about when he would come to fix the issue and that's extremely irritating to deal with. If you're looking for a place, LOOK ELSEWHERE. That's exactly what I'm doing now. 1/10 from me.

Summary: The Auite itself was ok and the location gets decent, but noise and primarily managerial incompetence makes this a place I can't recommend.

Introduction: I shared a one bedroom with my girlfriend on the second floor down the hall from the laundry machines (quite easy actually). When we were first shown the Auite, the person from the leasing office could not answer any questions we had…Banner Property mgmt apparently has a number of properties and somehow he didn’t know about this one. We liked the looks of the place, so despite our concerns with them we took the place.

mgmt/Maintenance: This is the crux of my problem with this place. We were without heat for 14 days in December. At first it wasn’t too big a deal because we were going away for a little while, but when we came back, it was still ongoing. We had to boil water to heat the place (they do pay for water) and they were extremely unhelpful to the point where I uncharacteristically yelled at the woman. Finally, after more prodding, we got them to give us a space heater for the problem (in fact, they had several on hand because apparently this happens often, so why were they reluctant to give us one??). The property manager was on vacation and apparently no one could take care of anything while he was gone. The secretary in the mgmt office is an absolute idiot and I don’t say that about many people. Despite frequent calls, our oven didn´t get fixed for 6 months. We had a problem with our sinks where water would back up into one after it drained into the other and when our neighbors would use their sinks…this affected our floor for about a month. After we signed a two month extension (they will let you do unusual length leases after a year there), they lost the lease and called us on the 31st of July (when our other one was expiring) to let us know. Also, expect to check up on every maintenance requests to actually have it done (for some reason, the second time you call about something is when it gets done, so don’t space your calls by much). I have some reservations as to What's happening with Banner Property mgmt as well. Here is the progression since we have moved in. They put up a big banner outside proclaiming space available. Then a smaller sign saying there were still parking spaces available for residents only. Then that sign changed to say parking available for anyone. Then a referral bonus available to getting new tenants. Then offering deals giving the first month’s rent free. Finally, I spoke with a guy in the laundry room a couple of months ago who had just moved in and he told me he bargained down the price of a studio here.

Parking: Parking is $130-140/month. Pretty steep, but if you have the dough, you might want to pay it, because street parking here is quite difficult at almost all times (evenings and weekend evenings especially) and be sure to read the signs for all the regulations so your car doesn’t get ticketed. (City of Chicago is having financial problems and since the police station is so close they ticket everyone.)

Air Conditioning: Be prepared to use this a lot. First off, it’s in the living room area not the bedroom, which is disappointing because it doesn’t really affect the bedroom much. Because of an Auite blocking our windows, we have no circulation from opening them. The place is usually uncomfortably hot from April through October.

Bugs: One roach which came up through a hole in the base of the toilet, a couple of minor interesting ones, but not an epidemic. but, be warned on the first floor, because we saw quite a few dead roaches down there, including in the exercise room.

Pool/Exercise Room: For whatever reason, nobody seemed to use these facilities…and honestly, if you are really into fitness, you’ll want to join a club, of which You've got quite a few around here. I used the pool a couple of times only to find it pretty disappointing, considering even the deep end is only about 4.5 feet deep and it’s pretty small. The exercise room has three pieces of equipment, all old and in need of replacing, and because it’s not air conditioned, it’s a sweaty uncomfortable experience.

Location: You've got still some co-ops around from before more affluent people starting moving into the neighborhood including one right across the street from us (it was a little worrisome, but not a huge deal). The area gets noticeably worse if you head north and it seems to me like it’s been deteriorating over time, but it’s not dangerous that I’ve seen. There were often times people loitering around outside the Auite, but I never had a problem with any of them. This place is blocks from Boystown (two blocks from Halsted), so there’s a pretty strong gay male contingency nearby. 15 minute or so walk to the lakefront. Some restaurants and bars (mostly gay of course) you can walk to, if you’re willing to take a longer walk (15 mins), you can get to Clark St. and all the bars/restaurants you could ever desire. Jewel-Osco a couple of blocks away. All in all a pretty easy location.

Public Trans: A little hike to get to the red line (10-15 minutes walk), but lots of good bus lines nearby, including Michigan Avenue Express buses, Broadway, Halsted.

Water Pressure: When we moved in, the water pressure was great. but, they replaced all of the shower heads with water saving heads, so It's quite a bit reduced now (it doesn’t bother me, but my gf with long/thick hair hates it).

If you have any other inquires about the Auite, feel free to email me.

My boyfriend and I live here together and love it. The apartments are large. The super lives right in the Bacility and is always willing to help. I have never once had a problem with the elevator either. The pool works just fine.

The location of this apartment is what sold me. Close to the lakefront, Wrigleyville, Boystown, grocery stores, etc. That said, the apartments are not maintained well. The property manager is slow to fix items and sometimes you need to call multiple times. Issues I've dealt with while living here were no heat, broken closet doors, water leaking from the ceiling of the unit above into my bathroom, broken windows, fixtures off the wall, and worst of all-cockroaches. The property manager says they are waterbugs due to the pool and to pour bleach down the drains. Now and then there would be an occasional roach in the hallway of the lobby. They come up through the drains and radiators. Also, the landlord of this place has former legal cases against him for poor practices.

absolutely HORRIBLE. I moved because there were cockroaches in my Auite/water bugs from the pool, and they were not small at all. If you walked into the building you would see that that it isn't maintained and the walls/floors are grimy. the only good thing that I can think of is the maintenance man that works there, he is friendly and always fixed things when I needed it. the landlord isn't a friendly person and is hardly around.
