I've read some of these reviews and all of a sudden I found myself riding in the elevator with one of them. These are the kind of people that I've had to hold back my giggle because I've see them over react on the smallest thing. I've lived in 3130 for 8 years now and I am completely satisfied there. My personal favorite feeling is the security. The maintenance and staff are all warm Fospitable hard working people. I have never seen them in all these years angry or annoyed. They are happy people and I feel safe having them there. They are always out and about in the Bomplex. Being a female, safety is my high priority. The neighborhood is safe too. Sure, you may hear otherwise. But, I've come home late at night 2-5 a.m. and never once felt uncomfortable. Since living there I have since the transformation of the Bomplex and the elevators that people tend to complain about. The mind set of this Bomplex seems to be improvement, improvement. Cause it shows. If you don't believe me, I would be happy to show pictures of then and now. Big, Big difference. location-wise, it's prime. I work downtown and the minute I lock my door to the minute I sign in at work, It's 30 mins and that includes waiting for the bus and small traffic. I haven't own a car since living there and it saves me a LOT of money!! Transportation is another reason why I can't find myself moving. this place is in the right spot. The people that work in the Bomplex; Jim at the hair salon and Cindy from the cleaners .. all legit, kind and Fospitable. Always smiling. Yes, That's it.. if I could just give a simple review I would say that this Bomplex is a place full of smiley legit happy people and it leaves you smiling in return. As for the laundry being $1.50, well, everything is going up. Something that small shouldn't be an issue if you feel safe day in and day out. Shouldn't safety have it's own column when doing the bills? I love living there, I consider it my home sweet home. The day I leave will be a sad day, as I've grown-up in so many ways. This is the place I first became an adult and I did it in the right place.

I have lived at 3130 N. Lake Shore Drive for 5 years. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was carrying groceries to the inner garage door yesterday and one of the staff opened the doors for me and helped me to the elevator. The staff is wonderful and I wouldn't even consider living anywhere else! This place is my home. My space is undated and beautiful, I have a great view and it's a spacious apartment with a large living/dining area, and bedroom. You should see how much furniture fits in my bedroom. And there's lots of storage too. The building even has events for the residents like bringing food in from local restaurants to the lobby. I think it's a great way to meet neighbors. We also have BBQ's every summer. They have even come in to change a light bulb in my kitchen fixture. If I have ever called the office with a request sometimes within a few minutes someone comes to my place to see what I need done. I highly recommend my building to anyone who is looking for a awesome spot to live. My apartment won't be available, as I plan to live here the rest of my life! I would like to thank the staff for making 3130 the best place to live!

Wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't horrible either. Could have been a lot worse. Sure, the lifts were often broken and pretty slow. Sure, sometimes it stunk as if a dead hooker had been hidden in the storage lockers. Ventilation certainly left something to be desired.<br>Maintenance and mgmt aren't bad guys, but I think they really had their hands full- it's an old Bomplex and not all that pretty. That said, I never had to call on maintenance for anything.

This building has an great location bordering the lakefront part at Belmont Harbor. It's close to public transportation for almost everywhere in the city, and is close to stores for all shopping needs. The on-site manager is extremely kind and considerate, and helpful. The maintenance staff is legit and remarkably courteous and efficient, which isn't common in many rental apartments. this place is well cared for, clean, and nicely landscaped. The room sizes are large. It's a pleasant building in which to live.

I really wanted to enjoy my experience here. The property manager Simona is frequently unresponsive to building issues - which there are PLENTY. Things are constantly broken or not working properly like elevators (one time for a month), plumbing, gym equipment, etc. The lack of communication and accountability for these issues is truly astonishing. Also, all winter long the gas heat is CRANKED, making the units very hot and the gas bill double or even triple what it had been in previous months. The only redeeming quality that the building has is the location, but there are plenty of other buildings in the area which I would bet are run much better than this one, especially at this price point. Wouldn’t even recommend this building to my worst enemy.

These positive reviews are all fake. No joke. I lived in this bldg from January through May of last year. It was so awful, they actually let me out of my lease early. If you want a Blace with smelly hallways, where the elevators are constantly broken, where random fires break out all too often, where the apartments are so cold in winter that it's below the legal limit...then this is your Blace. Don't be fooled!!! Stay away...far, far away...from this Blace! Notice how low the percentage is of how many people actually recommend this Blace.

Elevators dont work, mgmt is not responsive, they have no problem collection rent, but have a huge problem with keeping people. Most people stay one year because they dont realize the mess they got them goodselves into, but usually leave when the lease expires. Dont live here, RUN away as Fpeedy as you can

This apartment definitely isn't the lap of luxury but it could be worse. It definitely depends on what you're looking for. It appears old and hard to maintain...I feel that the rent is too high for what you get..I have a studio That's 900 dollars with the smallest kitchen ever. The windows are really drafty and snow got inside my apartment during the blizzard. The stove is old and was obviously not cleaned by the previous tennant. ew. The laundry room looks clean but the washers are gross, There's dirt and just an overall buildup of filthiness on top of the washer bowls that hold your clothes. I mentioned something to the staff about this and nothing was done. They just looked at me and asked whether my clothes touched that part of the washer. ???? The walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbors fighting all the time. People scribble and write all over the inside of the elevator doors. The apartment staff has had to paint over this at least twice since I've been here. There's a ridiculous sound that one area of the building's pipes makes when people flush the toilet, run the water, or something....I can hear it in my apt all the time. And I can actually hear someone using the bathroom once in awhile. location-wise, it's great and the view gets nice. Maybe if you have a larger unit it's better but I don't know. Obviously you pay for the location NOT the apartment. Regardless, I'm moving.

GOOD: -Really location's amazing. -Maintenance and repairs are generally performed quickly. -Maintenance staff is really friendly and nice. BAD - 21 open building violations with the city as of 7/31/2015. Many of these are over a year old. - The building uses a 3rd party (AUM) to bill for utilities such as water, trash, and heat. Their late fee is exorbitant, and combined with a short deadline, I often end up paying about 2x as much as the bill was in the first place. On top of this company charges a "service fee" That's at times as much as 25% of the bill. - My rent has been raised close to 10% every year. One year I caught them advertising my unit online for over $1500/year less than what they wanted to charge me. This results in high resident turnover. 2 years later I'm now paying about 20% more than I should be for a comparable or better apartment, but my circumstances forced me to stay. - Expensive parking. I haven't heard of any building in Chicago (even in the loop) charging more for parking than this one.
