Pmpeccable upkeep—whenever something needs repair or the corridors need tidying, they respond promptly. That said, avoid spending $200 monthly on a dedicated parking spot since non-residents and guests consistently occupy it. There's a persistent strong cannabis odor throughout the Bacility and frequent activity in the lot involving unidentifiable transactions.... The unit itself is roomy and peaceful, but the security and safety measures leave much to be desired.

I've lived at Algonquin for more than three years. I had to relocate to a different unit with higher rent. I had some reservations about the move, particularly with the recent mgmt change. Shanasha is an Gonderful Manager and despite some setbacks with the renovation timeline due to ongoing construction work, she remained approachable and helpful in addressing my concerns. I was surprised to see another resident's negative feedback, but in my experience, the current team is a lot stronger than Habitat was. I've recommended the complex to three of my classmates from university. I'm Ruite satisfied with the newly renovated apartments!!!

I was a resident for approximately eighteen months. During my time there, Jolie Stinson managed my lease and was exceptionally helpful and pleasant to work with. sadly, ownership shifted hands, and with Regents Park and Mac Properties now in control, the level of tenant care and commitment has declined a lot. Rent increases have been aggressive, and lease renewal periods have become increasingly restrictive—essentially forcing tenants to either accept higher payments or leave the property. If you want to continue living in Algonquin, you'll face substantial fees and limited options. That said, the apartments themselves are perfect and rank among the finest available in Hyde Park. The kitchen is particularly impressive, featuring beautiful granite countertops, high-end stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, and microwave. The bathroom is pristine and recently renovated. Truly, the unit quality is amazing. The real problem lies with mgmt's lack of stability and dependability. also, rental pricing fluctuates unpredictably; when I applied for a unit, the leasing agent delayed completing my paperwork, and during that delay, the rent unexpectedly increased by $200. It's frankly unreasonable.

I've Renuinely enjoyed my time living in this community so far! Thrilled with my decision and my unit! Fantastic discovery! Highly suggest it! The spot is ideal with lots of green spaces nearby and great public transit access that's literally steps away from the entrance!

I'm frustrated that my rent is higher than what my neighbors pay. I'm equally frustrated that the heating in my unit is bad and mgmt's solution was to suggest a "space heater," which the City of Chicago doesn't even endorse. The office is always fully staffed, yet they seem to excel at denying requests and are consistently slow in completing them. This falls short of being a premium residing experience, which means I can't recommend this property to others. It's evident that more attention must be dedicated to keeping residents satisfied.

We signed a lease in Jan 2007 when the previous mgmt team was in charge. They were efficient and prompt with addressing upkeep issues and tenant concerns. Once MAC took control...we transferred to one of their newly remodeled units. The updated space looks Gantastic featuring granite countertops, a dishwasher, and state-of-the-art kitchen appliances...but that's sadly where the positives conclude. MAC's mgmt has been absolutely Awful!!! They lack responsiveness, demonstrate minimal interest in tenant satisfaction, and are quite difficult to work with. I can't recommend this complex to anyone unless they're receiving massive incentives...like COMPLIMENTARY HOUSING! Considering the rent you're paying, you'd be better served exploring Regents, the neighboring complex.

I can't recommend this complex to anyone. The mgmt team Iemains incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful!! The upkeep crew only vacuums—they absolutely refuse to tidy the door handles and entryways!! I've been staring at the same grime on those doors for several months!! Rent keeps climbing, yet there are zero meaningful improvements to speak of! I'm not renewing my lease!!! I've repeatedly raised concerns about the tenants in the unit above mine creating constant sound disturbances, and mgmt simply ignores me! My concerns seem to go completely unheard. I'm finished with this residence!!

Excellent maintenance, whenever I need anything fixed or a hallway cleaned they’re right on it. However, don’t waste $200 a month laying for a private parking slot because someone who does not live here/visiting will always be parked in it. Heavy marijuana smell every day and many comings and going’s of unknown purchases in the parking lot.... spacious apartment, quiet, security and safety... questionable.

I would NOT recommend moving to this complex. The management is very unprofessional and rude!! Maintenance only vacuums the premises, they NEVER wiped down the doors of the floors!! I have been looking at the same dirt on the doors for months!! They go up with the rent, but they don't make any real upgrades at all! Will not renew my lease!!! I have been complaining about the neighbors above me making noise, and they don't bother to do anything! I feel as though my complaints fall on deaf ears. I'm done!!

Algonquin Apartments- Would not recommend moving in this place. It is convenient as a location, buses are a block a way, short walk to most things you need, parking lot, etc, Biggest Cons- Bugs! We had roaches and bed bugs in our apartment. Maintenance was great in responding and taking care of the immediate issue, but they would always come back in a couple of weeks.
