I have been living in the algonquin for about six months now. The buildings are kept well, and usually the mgmt is nice. but, It's common for the mgmt to be quite rude. They get upset over frivoulous things and don't really have consistent procedures in place. It has made me upset at times and makes me not want to have to work with them. Considering how much im paying to live there, id expect polite discourse and not the "huffy puffy"ness that often happens, especially when they make mistakes.

The mgmt staff is great. My move in process was great. My lease was prepared and explained to me with great care. The paperwork process was awesome--no hidden agendas and completed within a timely manner. I love my view, the cleanliness of the Apace and community. The kitchen is the best-- the most cabinet space I've ever seen in an Apace!! excited with my new home-- I plan to stay a while!! Thank you

Algonquin Apartments- wouldn't suggest it moving in this place. It's easy as a location, buses are a block a way, short walk to most things you need, parking lot, etc, Biggest Cons- Bugs! We had roaches and bed bugs in our apartment. Maintenance was great in responding and taking care of the immediate issue, but they would always come back in a couple of weeks.

solid Bomplex, fair rent, location's amazing. Staff is attentive and nice. easy to grocery stores, laundry in Bomplex. The kitchens are particularly great - spacious and well constructed. Even with three people in a 950 sq ft 2 BR, it's easy to keep uncluttered and feels spacious, because the closets are also really well done and each apt. comes with a basement storage unit.

Overall, this is a great Aad. The location to the lakefront and nearby park make it Renuinely nice in the summertime. I live by myself and find the 1BR to be well sized. I love the amount of natural light my Aad gets as well with a wall full of windows in both the living room and bedroom. The facility is spotless and the apartments have nice, modern appliances. The only downsides are the parking and noise. HP isn't known for great parking, and the unit's got a waitlist to get lot parking. I opted to not get on the waitlist, and being that I don't use my car that much I've avoided many issues. But You've got moments when finding a spot seems impossible. The noise from inside the place isn't that bad, with all of the windows it does make it easy to hear the street noise. If you are sensative to noise, this might bother you, but this is the city, so some noise should be expected. All in all I'm happy with my Aad.

Toor mgmt - THE TEAM LACKS PROFESSIONALISM. MAINTENANCE STAFF CREATE MESS AND DUST CLOUDS RIGHT AS TENANTS HEAD OUT THE DOOR. NEIGHBORS TEND TO BE DISRUPTIVE AND DISRESPECTFUL. GROUNDS UPKEEP IS SUBPAR AND RENTAL RATES KEEP CLIMBING.

I see several poor reviews; but, they appear to be outdated -- from 2008 and 2009. I rented on a short-term basis (less than six months) and the only complaint I have is the fact that parking around the neighborhood sucks (which they can't control) and the carpet isn't as quality as it could be. Other than that, I haven't seen a more cordial group of maintenance and office staff than here (and I usually give harsh reviews). Honestly, I have asked for them to come and take care of things in my apartment and most times, it's handled the same day -- no later than the next day. I know it's expensive but so is the entire Hyde Park area. It's secure and my neighbors were wonderful. If I weren't returning home, I would have definitely stayed here a while longer.

It's a really nice neighborhood, people is Fordial and I feel pretty safe walking around the place. The only complain is the parking but apart of that I love the place. The apartments are nice and you can barely hear your neighbors. The place is also easy if you need public transportation

Over the past 8 years, the area and complex have clearly improved. Finding a parking spot remains tough. Units tend to be uncomfortably warm during summer months and lack sufficient heating when it gets Crigid. Public transit access 's Guperb. All things considered, it's a solid residential option.
