Our family has had a wonderful time calling Vue 53 home. Every interaction with the team—from the mgmt office to the maintenance crew to security—has been great. The parking rates are quite affordable, and street parking around the neighborhood is conveniently accessible too. The units are stunning, and I Ruite appreciate the convenience of having a washer and dryer right in my Aad.

Vue53 is an great apartment complex located in a fantastic spot on 53rd Street with easy access to dining, shopping, and other nearby conveniences. I'm impressed by the fantastic features offered, including an in-unit washer and dryer, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the unit, and top-quality kitchen equipment. The property also boasts a fitness center, multiple outdoor rooftop spaces, and genuinely helpful personnel—all of which are fantastic!

The unit feels fresh and modern upon initial occupancy, with all appliances in Gice working order. The team members are incredibly accommodating when touring the space prior to signing the lease, and the maintenance crew continues to be responsive and supportive after you've settled in.

This building and the staff are amazing. A very fun and energetic group that was very helpful. Erica held my hand every step of the way and I'm glad I chose the venue. If you're in the area please check out the vue.

Erica was really helpful to me when I was trying to find a good place for my son to stay. She went above and beyond giving me advice and much appreciated and detailed information. From parking, shopping, and entertainment. We loved this location and I would highly recommend it to anyone who looking for a place to stay. I have shared her contact information with all my colleagues.

Vue53 Itays deeply untrustworthy, and I strongly advise anyone considering renting there to look elsewhere. Multiple current and former residents have shared that both the property itself and its mgmt team are deeply problematic. --------------- specifically has proven to be dishonest and unreliable?

Very overpriced for poor quality rooms, appliances, and mistreatment by almost all staff as well as mistreatment by management. I often found bugs in my room. Several times I saw a doorman screaming at delivery people. The doorman aggressively told me he would not let my instacart delivery person bring my groceries to my apartment, stating that delivery people had been peeing in the hallways. Additionally, there was a carjacking in the parking lot while I was living there. It does not feel safe to live here. Throughout the night, I would hear shouting from Nichols park. Many beggars sleep outside the building and outside the Target connected to the building. It is difficult to leave the building without being asked for money or at times being taunted by beggars. Their management staff, Noel Price, and Erika Johnson failed to provide me with a move out packet which Noel stated I should have received. At a result, I did not know I had to personally contact ComEd to stop being charged for utilities. As a result, I was charged two months of utilities for months after I moved out. Noel and Erika continued to come up with ridiculous excuses as to why they will not pay me back. There are many much nicer, safer, and hygienic places to live in the area such as 5252 and City Hyde Park. I strongly recommend UChicago students to live on campus (or literally anywhere else) over living here, as it will be less expensive and a much better experience in every way.

I’m a UChicago student who moved into Vue last August. My room came as furnished. However, when I first entered my room, it was uncleaned and the sofa had stains on it (and it’s still there). Plus, there were dusts and hairs all over the floor, but I forgive this part because they were removable. When I layed on the mattress, I felt like it was used for at least 5 years. I eventually got them replaced for a new one after 5 months. What I disliked the most were the ladies working in the office down stairs. They would give you a bright smile while rejecting all your requests. They lied that they did not have a new mattress for me and would have to wait a year. Moreover, when I wanted to return all the cheap furnitures so I could save $150 monthly, the lady said I cannot change the monthly plan but could remove the furnitues… I have never heard or seen this kind of logic in my entire life. I would tell anyone to choose different apartment with this price. If you’re from a rural area, you might find this place intriguing and some what fancy, but if you’re a city person, you will be disappointed by staff members and their customer service.

I will give zero stars if I could. This apartment has the worst management ever. I lived here from 2021.9 to 2022.8, and what I listed below were PART of my negative experience here: 1. The lease office provided me three versions of lease, and none of them showed the right amount of rent. The rent listed on every version of lease are all higher than I need to pay. 2. I chose the furnished apartment, but all furnitures came after a MONTH I moved in. All I have in that month was an air bed. The apartment told me the furnitures were delayed bc of COVID, but when I finally choose to stop waiting and buy furnitures myself, I got all I need within a week from online purchasing. The apartment gives me NOTHING to show their apology. 3. When I moved out, I was charged for $384.99 for wall repairing, cleaning and a holdover fee. However, the apartment used to promise me that the nail holes on the wall will not result in additional fee, and I can turn in my key three hours later than the deadline. So, don’t trust anything said by them. 4. The representative of this apartment is rude and disrespectful. When I call them to dispute my move out fee, a lady first told me their manager was on lunch leave at 16:00, and when I called an hour later, she told me she is the manager and she can do nothing about my dispute. These are just about the management. The rooms they offer are really small. If you live in floor plan B2, you can literally hear your roommate doing ANYTHING because all things between you is a paper-like wall. The floor is made of cement, and they use carpet to cover it in their displaying pictures on the website. All in all, don’t live here. There are tons of great apartment in Hyde Park, and I have visited part of them during this year. VUE53 is definitely not worth for your money and energy. Your lovely school life will be ruined by the dispute with this apartment.

I returned this summer to Vue53 in Hyde Park from Atlanta. I was pleasantly surprised that Eurydice Echols was able to assist me in subletting the exact same apartment that I had last summer. All the staff are outstanding! They are experienced, consistent, and mature. Maintenance issues are resolved promptly. My smoke detector battery, and light bulb were replaced within hours after submitting my request. The University and Chicago police ensure that the surrounding community is safe with friendly officers on foot and/or police cars stationed every 2-3 blocks. Besides the spectacular view from my apartment, I enjoyed taking my grandchildren to Nichols Park across the street. The proximity to shopping is unbeatable. Target is next door, and the Hyde Park Produce Market and CVS Pharmacy are a block away. Hopefully, I’ll get my Vue53 apartment back again next summer!
