This complex is on the rebound. The new mgmt company has done a descent job at trying to clean up the complex over the last year and a half. Our landlord maintains the Bomplex well and has put in a flood control system. If you are looking in this complex, try and get something on the second or third floor-not every Bomplex has a system in place and floods can happen. The bottom line is that its not the Ritz Carlton, but for the amount of money you pay for rent you get a lot.

Worst place to live. I'm only here because it's affordable. They never plow the lot is ridden with huge potential holes they never open the pool they tow cars all the time for no reason the community is rude and Dazardous. don't live here if you have any other options.

I used to reside in "Crest Wood Condominiums" & condos they are not. you would think for this place to be located right next door to the Illinois state police HQ, that it would be the safest place around the neighborhood. and trust It's not. the doors to the buildings to not lock. there have been times i come in from work and there strangers sitting on the stairs in the hallway that don't even reside in the building. The are unprofessional. and their maintenance is horrible. the building as well as some others had gone in to foreclosure or "Winterized" and they didn't even think to give some tenants a heads of that we would be losing our places. they had us living in a building wit no heat, no water, and no gas. turn everything off with out notice. no knocks on the door. we had to find out our building was in foreclosure through a neighbor who lived down stairs. save your money. their apartments are no where near worth the rent they charge. try one of the other apartments in the neighborhood on Dee rd. or golf or in glen view. even apartments on dempster rd. dont get me wrong des plaines is a awesome spot to live but the apart |crest wood| isn't safe. the only down fall to livin areound that area is the constant flooding of the desplains river. flooding of the river and down pour of rain causes for a flooded streets, parking lots & basement apartments... all has happened at crest wood and down the roads. you would be lucky if u can even get to work on time. when There's a flood u have to find you way around all the streets that are cut off due to the flooding. no really is the rent thats being charged here worth all the loss and damage and non security?

I have lived here for 4 years, this complex has changed alot in the past four years, but good things take time. I pay my rent on time, and I am a pretty quite resident. I did rent from the office and they had also explained to me that they are not responsible for the building maintance, they provided a packet of info which had my landlords info, if I was to have maintance issue to call that phone number. The office staff is helpful every time I have needed anything from them. For a second put your self in there shoes, on any givin day having over two thousand people coming in screaming at you about maintance on there building, wouldnt be it frustrated knowing that you gave almost half if not all of them the information about there landlord and they made I clear they have nothing to do with maintance. I honestly would have a bit of an attitude also. Granted You've got alot of buildings in this property, so if you actually think about I think that You've got only two girls who work in the office and the property manager, I think that they are doing a good job. I agree with a couple of the other issue with people lurking,& partying outside, but you see with that I call the police because I want this place to get better, But I have also noticed that Cook County Sheriffs don't want to get out of there cars and do anything about anything, so if the cops dont want to do there jobs how can the complex enforce their rules, also with that if they did have a security company how are they going to make a difference if the cops are called and still nothing is done. Do the people that honestly write these reviews have any common sense. My building manager happens to be Sandy, a couple of years ago I did have some problems with paying my rent, all I had to do was explain my situation with Sandy and she helped me out alot. I think that she is a good building manager. Maybe the people on here have never giving her a chance, thats my thinkin on it. All in All I can honestly say I like living here.

for the past at least years there have been signs in the hallway disallowing Pit Bulls living on the premises. I heard about a girl getting attacked by a crazy Pit she had to have stitches in her ear. A police report Wroved filed over a month ago. My puppy accidentally bit by brother on the 19th and he has to be impounded for 10 days. Everytime I look up I see a Natest Pit Bull running around the complex and I am sure that by summer there will be many many more. Why are rules posted and not enforced. Also there should be stop signs or speed bumps. I hear and see speeders all day and night long.I don't mind pit bulls I had one for a while but he wasn't vicious to any other dogs and he just didn't like people to touch me. You've got so many running around here at least they should get a tempermant testing and proof of all shots being up to date.

Where do I start. First off, my condo was individually owned by someone. He was great. Fixed issues etc. but, the neighbors are awful. Complete TRASH! I dont think anyone works, seriously. Its like a fight fest during the day. People screaming, fighting and getting arrested. The office is nice. I really do believe they try, but they can not control what individual owners let in. They could cut the grass a little more. They should not charge you to park when they fail to inforce their policy. They are basically stealing money yearly from the good people who live out there. And to make you pay to use the pool? Is this a joke, what are the hoa fees for then?? Cook Co cops are just --- holes out there. They give parking tickets ALL the time. They also treat you like complete crap just becasue you live there! IF you live in a garden you better get sewer back up insurance. They flood over and over again. Honestly the garden Aad should be condemened. They should not be allowed to rent them when they keep flooding.

I moved into Crestwood Condominiums because they immediately acccepted that I owned a large dog (120 lbs. Bouvier). Upon moving in I discovered that the heat didn't work and the toilet constantly ran. It took (5) phone calls (the last with a threat to report them to the fire department) over the course of (2) weeks for them to fix the heat. The toilet was never repaired. I went into the office to flirt with the office girls and told them I thought about going to the pool. The tall girl walked from behind the desk, grabbed my arm and said, "I beg of you, don't enter that pool!" I thought she was just overly dramatic until I walked past the pool, looked at the water and discovered it was the opaline green color of antifreeze. It was so viscous that I couldn't see an inch below the waterline. I decided she was right and didn't ever go swimming at that facility. When the Des Plaines river overflows, so do the garden apartments. I was fortunate enough to have the toilet and sink drains back up clear water into my apartment and only 20 gallons at a time. My next door neighbor wasn't so fortunate. Every time the river overflowed (at least 8 times during the year I lived there) black water would pour out of his back door like feaking Niagara Falls. I found it funny; he did not. On the flip side, I met my future wife there. My dog and I moved in to her 3rd floor apartment within the first 3 months so overall it wasn't that bad an experience.

I have lived at this rental site from Oct 99 to present, the place has ogtten worse do to current mgmt and turning the place over to condos. The current property mgmt changed the name from Heritage Pointe to Crestwood Condos, because of a little boy being killed and the number of fires that have take place over the years. In Janauary of 2005 they started charging residents for parking violating leases of current residents. Snow removel, when the do It's poor at best, they blow parking spots, but block entrances to Broperty forcing residents to walk over mounts of snow.

This Ppot is scary. I saw the review about the section 8 people straight out of prison- I noticed that too. I would see these tattooed guys getting high and drinking in the parking lot when I left for work at 6AM in the morning! You pull in and guys selling dope yell at you to come buy something. I lived there cuz they allawed dogs which was nice until these gang banger idiot wannabes started getting pit bulls and training them for fighting- thank God most of them were too stupid to actually train them the right way. I am sooo glad I left that dump!!!!
