That Sean guy was rude, but their new guy, Tom, is starting to be no better. He came in about a year ago, with no notification from management that he was apparently Sean's boss at the time, and the new office contact for any resident concerns. He eventually did take over for Sean, who was fired, and with good reason. But Tom's job is probably secure, seeing as he and the GM of the office, a guy named Bob, used to be roommates or went to school together or something. Tom's big thing was to swoop in here and, suddenly, "we're going to fix up the windows in the building! Won't that be great, get you guys all upgraded windows??" Really? I've been asking them to replace my (original from the 1930's, mind you) windows since I moved in. They of course upgraded the OUTSIDE with some foil-and-paint concoction, and the inside of the windows, still original, still pull-chain, just got painted. Nice "upgrade." Whatever. Did they do anything to structurally upgrade the place?? No. And recently he actually hung up on me on the phone. Excuse me, but *I* pay *you*. I pay my rent on time and keep the place clean. *You* don't hang up on *me*, you are here to fix or install stuff that needs to be fixed or installed, and are expected to do it politely and promptly. Don't give me a bunch of BS about how you don't have the manpower to install an AC unit "now that everyone's calling since the weather just got warm" when I've lived here a long time (much longer than I planned, or care to), and know that the maintenance team takes maybe a day or two to get stuff done. They're pretty good, but the delays likely come from the office. I had been waiting nearly 2 weeks for them to do this particular task, purposely calling *before* the rush of calls would come, so they would have plenty of time to complete this task in my unit. And quit giving your run-on shtick on the phone when I call to request something be fixed or whatnot, around here. LISTEN when people talk; you don't get to talk over us. Again--we're the customers. WE are paying YOU to do something in here, for which we pay you rent money. I am also concerned that they came up with some new "balance" that's somehow due, which is strange, since I pay my rent on time for years, except one time earlier this year, which was approved for waiving any penalties, months ago, at the time of that issue. So yes, they are shifty in the money department, not to mention that they gave a relative a hassle a few years back about security deposits upon their departure, and the place was in fine condition. The lease thing where they ask you to commit to renew 2 months before the lease would start over and giving a 2 week deadline, has always been a source of frustration. The "hanging up" thing, rudeness, unprofessionalism and lack of timeliness has gotten out of control. No wonder they keep having to offer incentives for people to stay. I guess this year I'll just have to start looking way ahead of time to either get a new apartment or finally buy something, and break the lease. Illinois consumer and tenant laws say that as long as you find someone to take over in your unit, you can break the lease and you owe the company nothing. I am not living another year with these jerks, and they don't seem to get that all these posts and complaints are their own fault. (Except for Jim in the office, see other posts. He's a nice guy, that part is true, but he's part-time and powerless, it seems.)

Dimensions has stood out as an exceptional company since I first began apartment hunting in the city. They quickly respond to inquiries, politely show their apartments and answer all questions to the best of their ability. I did not hesitate choosing to rent from Dimensions and I haven't regretted that decision for a second. The on-site staff are amazing! They are friendly & knowledgeable and respond to maintenance needs immediately. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable. The storage/closet space is ample. I have an on-site parking spot, but my guests have never had difficulty finding a spot within a few blocks. I never hear my neighbors and hear limited noise from outside. The tenants I have met are extraordinarily polite. The building is close to the Red Line and multiple grocery stores/shopping/food. What a positive living experience!

I have one month left of my one year lease with Dimensions. I am living in the terminals building in the south loop and have very mixed reviews about my experience. For the most part, the apartment was great. It's a great location for a great price. The apartment is quite large and I don't have any complaints on that end. Our building manager always answers his phone and sends help right away when needed (from what I hear we were lucky to get this building manager.) Now on to the negatives, which is only one but a real bad one = the staff. Refer to other other people's posts for the names of these two boneheads. They are completely unproffesional and downright rude. You would swear you were talking to a 6 year old in a 35 year olds body. They yell and throw hissy fits when things do not go their way. I noticed this from day one before I even signed my lease. I almost ripped the lease up in his face while he was berading me and my father in their crappy office on clark, however, i held back because the apartment itsself was too good to pass up. Thankfully you rarely, if ever, have to deel with these two goons after you have moved in. Overall = great building, horrendous office staff.

The folks that I've dealt with at management have been stupendous. I lost my job, and belatedly applied for disability. When my savings ran out and my SSDI application still hadn't been approved, I got behind in the rent and was on the verge of eviction. For me, that spelled homelessness. I'd been selling what I could to get money for food. When Shawn heard about this, he arranged for the Illinois Dept of Human Services to deliver a food box. Shawn and I then worked out a deal wherein they wouldn't evict me and I promised to pay off all the back rent due when my disability checks arrived. Meanwhile, he not only gave me a lease on a less expensive apartment, but had the super and his guys physically move my stuff. Management differentiated between deadbeats and honest people in trouble. I've never heard of management behaving in so compassionate and concerned a fashion.

That's a pretty strong title right? Guess what, I didn't even have a chance to live in one of their apartments and I still feel that strongly about Dimensions Management. I saw one of their beautiful apartments through a middle company, tried to sign a 12 month lease through this "apartment searching company" but Dimensions would only take an 18 month lease. So that plan was scrapped, but I stll wanted the apartment...so I contacted Dimension directly....after about 6 calls they finally got back to me. One of their leasing agents tried to rush me off the phone before I could even tell him I wanted the apartment. So then he realizes he'll make a commission and tells me he can get me in a 12 month lease. So I sign all the paper work, send over $1000 "to take the apt off the market" as they told me....so I'm excited about my new place and making arangements to move. A day after putting the checks in the mail...he calls me and says, "Sorry dude someone else took the apartment already." I said, so there's nothing you can do, that doesn't make me happy now that I have checks in the mail and you have all my private info..." His response was, "My bad, maybe you should've signed the original 18 month lease or something...and what am I going to do with your personal info, I don't need it, want to hear me shred it over the phone?" DO NOT GO TO DIMENSION MANAGEMENT CORP. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW GREAT THE APARTMENT IS IF THEY PEOPLE WHO OWN AND SERVICE IT SUCK

In the 1.5 years I have rented from Dimensions Management on Clark, the staff has consistently been rude and unhelpful. (Sean Rios is particularly rude and unresponsive.) It is obvious that their goal is to continue collecting rent but avoid spending money on the upkeep/maintenance/repair of the building. In their commitment to this goal, they come up with far-fetched explanations about why they cannot perform most repairs. They will not hire experts (e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.) to perform repairs, but instead rely on one catch-all handyman to apply a cheap fix to problems. I have reported the following problems with my apartment in 1.5 years, none of which have yet been repaired: -Very low water pressure in the shower. -Lukewarm, rather than hot water in shower. -Radiators which clang extremely loudly (have to wear earplugs to sleep). -Front door to building no longer locks; door jam is falling apart.

I've have a great experience with Dimensions Management in the South Loop! My rent is cheap and has gone up only a few dollars in 6 years. Also, the management has been prompt with any problems I've ever had (which are few).

Do NOT rent from Dimensions. They will attempt to milk every last cent out of you for no reason. They make 'promises' when you move in that will not be fulfilled. The maintenance is horrible. The building is falling apart and the landlord doesn't care. I have put in numerous calls and letters about maintenance problems and nothing has been done. They raise rental costs and cut back their service. When they do, they give you a lease renewal and two week's notice, to make sure you don't have time to find a new apartment and are then stuck there for another year. And, finally, they will use their keys to help themselves to valuables in your apartment. This is the last straw, I will never rent here again. I recommend anyone else keep far away from this sketchy 'company'.
