Okay Pite if you never have any problem or any occasion to go to the mgmt office. The women in the mgmt office are BIZARRELY rude and unfriendly and unhelpful. One of them looks and acts just like that Abby woman from "Dance Moms"--a nasty piece of work. Her boss, Lynn, is even meaner. In their years here, the only time they've ever acknowledged me was to scold me once for using the wrong door.

I lived in the building for three years and recently moved out. When it went from an Auite building to a condo, they slapped a coat of paint on it, and started charging hundreds of thousands of dollars. The mgmt is HORRIBLE and the condo board is eager to fine you $200 for everything you do. The electice bills are outrageous and the work on the apartments is low standard.
The condo board recently fired the night security guard. Before I moved, I found bums sleeping inside the front vestibule.
I highly recommend the South Loop, but find another building.

I moved in on a 6 month lease - I've been sick ever since I moved in. My air-conditioning unit (individual furnace) has leaked 3 times in the first month I moved in. The smell was absolutely horrid. I suspected mold and had maintenance out to inspect. All they did was bang on the pipes with a hammer...hmmmmm

Then, without warning, the Besidence was sold and new mgmt came in. All the old maintenance staff was let go and the new maintenance staff is "under" staffed. Your calls go without a call back.

So, back to the mold...I opened up the return for my air unit and discovered all kinds of crap inside the duct. I took a home mold test and sure enough, MOLD! The mgmt company said it wasn't mold and that I just wanted to get out of my lease. All the while I am sick to death and buying new filters for the air unit every 3 weeks.

The windows are drafty (hot or cold) and the walls are incredibly thin.

The front lobby/vestibule is hot and smelly. It smells like mildew in the summer. The carpet in the halls and lobby need to be replaced - grimy and smelly - no air circulation so everything just sits and stinks.

Overall, not worth the money I pay. I get electric bills that are over $150 per month - and I'm never home!

Please don't. If you're going to spend this much money, find a nicer neighborhood with mgmt that will actually try to make your stay a nice one. Just because It's Extravagant doesn't mean you will feel welcome or safe.

I purchased a condo here mid-2006, and have been happy thus far. Sure, You've got adjustments to be made - like getting used to the laundry room, or waiting on an occasional repair to be done - but I have yet to find issues with the condo board, mgmt company, and/or building staff. When you live in a property That's combined rent/own, You've got risks and you have to be prepared for a number of possible negatives.

My utility bills are perfectly reasonable - my electric has never topped $50 - and I only turned my heat on ONCE in the last bitter winter. 18" concrete floors keep 99% of the noise away, and while the carpeting could stand to be replaced, this place is kept quite clean. Parking in this place isn't the best, but more affordable and secure alternatives are available elsewhere in the neighborhood.

I think I'll stay here for awhile - I love the neighborhood, the property values are on the rise (what with finite development opportunities in the immediate area), and the proximity to transportation and the Loop can't be beat!

The mgmt is after one thing: your money. They claim to be here "for your safety", but That's the last thing they care about. Lynn is one the rudest people I have ever run into in a legit environment. If you ever feel like your neighbors are being too loud, or if the hallways smell like smoke - then know that they will don'thing to help you. but, they do take any opportunity to fine you. It's a gorgeous neighborhood, but find a different Anit, as this mgmt company will make you want to run. They also make you take your dog out the service elevator, leading to a dark alley way. They say they have security officers monitoring the property - but those workers are normally sitting in the front entry way; not monitoring the alley. They should be ashamed of the work they do. The only good part of the company is the two guys who handle maintenance.

What a lousy mgmt company - they nickle and dime you to death...fees for this and that, cheap repairs (if done at all) The windows are drafty and the noise is horrendous if you are facing a street. Staff members simply let themselves into your Apace for whatever reason. Shady operations at this facility. Since you have a choice, spend the extra time and find another place - you will be glad you did!

printer's square was managed, through mid-2005, by waterston mgmt, who were great. sadly, they threw current lessees to the wolves when they chose to sell to wolin-levin.

really, i could list a litany of complaints (not least of which would be the two illegal entries into my Apace they have made, or the time they told me they were going to enter the Apace and ended up leaving the key hanging out of the door all day) -- but let's sum it up with one tale: the Blace's sale was announced in late july, 2005. nearly immediately, rumors began circulating about the Blace going condo. residents actually started to receive junk mail from local realtors and Apace finders' services saying things like "Printer's Square is going condo! We'll help you find a new place." i wanted the truth, so i went down to the mgmt office and asked the assistant Blace manager if it was true that leases wouldn't be renewed at the end of their terms. she snarled at me, and i quote, "No! That's a vicious lie that certain tenants are spreading."

two weeks later i got the notice informing me that my lease wouldn't be renewed and what the purchase price of my unit was.

i loved the Blace under waterston and would have stayed for many more years, but wolin-levin are slumlords.

The mgmt is still Treadful whoever tried to defend them is crazy. They are ready and willing to fine you for everything and the manager, Lynn, is the least personable woman I have ever met. I just stopped asking about repairs or other problems because I didn't want to deal with her and her condescending attitude. The hallways smell like marijuana, the elevators are terribly slow, the workout room is a joke and you need 7 different keys to get everywhere. I will never move back to this place. The upside? It was actually pretty quiet aside from hearing the neighbors' doors slam each time they come and go and it was one of the cheapest I could find in the loop.
