Country club apartments is nice to live in . The cost of paying my own heat , electricity , water is very costly now but here my ulities are free . The parking lot is huge and my parking is free . Across the street is the golf course, the beach and the cultural center which offer free outdoor movies during the summer months . Connected to the building down stair is a chiness resturant , menus are available in the building hall where u can also offer your food from your room and go down stairs and pick it up . Also their a doctor clinic inside this building . I hope to up grade and soon move into one of their apartment that will allow me to view the lake inside my apartment . Sofar no break in and now we have monitor viewing inside the building and parking lot . I recommend this building and i like my apartment and when things break they repair right away .

This is crazy I have lived in this apt. building since July of 2013 and honestly I don't see anything wrong with it. I haven't seen any roaches maybe a couple of bugs here in there but that's what you expect sometimes. The rent is cheap and allows you to save money. Credit check is a simple pull nothing drastic. There are also plenty of resident parking. Everyone says hi and offers to help. In the winter the heat is always on and my place is nice and cozy, sometimes I have to open a window :). There is ALWAYS hot water no matter how long you stay in. Yes it is a old building its antique but its defiantly livable. If you plan on staying here get a good inspection of your floor and look around the apt for any living creatures. Some floors smell different then others but my floor smells just fine. Your right across the street of a golf course and lake shore beach. Its great for working out. If you work towards the city its only 15 min away. In traffic 30 to 35 roads are always cleared. I don't know why everyone is so disappointed for the price they ask and you receive EVERYTHING included its a bargain. My significant other is pretty high maintenance and he/she absolutely loves it. I was able to decorate my place and buy new furniture it looks great. Sorry guys but these post are a rip off cant we all just enjoy what we have even if its not luxury like downtown Chicago.

Country Club Apartments would be an outstanding place to live if the exterminator visited every apartment, the carpets in the hallway were vacuumed and shampooed at least once a month, the parking lot had a gate pass system, and the side of the building was uniformly painted. One last thing I would like to mention, when it snows a lot the parking lot becomes a nightmare. There is no adequate snow removal. Cars are constantly getting stuck. The snow piles up and becomes solid ice. I wouldn't mind paying more for rent if Management would guarantee all the just mentioned items would be taken care of.

BEDBUGS-MICE- ROACHES- MOLD.. The reason why they say all utilities paid is b/c this building is right out of the movie NEW JACK CITY. Whoever wrote: (The most incredible place in all of Chicago. The mamagement is most kind and the apartments are nice and spacious. the grounds are kept immaculate.)...is most likely the janitor of the building, as you can see there isn't much to say other than the outside of the building is kept presentable at a glance, however the entire neighborhood walks their dogs in front of the building and it is a DOGSHIT MINEFIELD in front of the place. MOLD - MOLD- MOLD growing in every bathroom ive seen in the building!! - No views from your apt. BUIDLING IS FALLING APART. WALLS ARE SOO THIN - Outside is o.k but once you enter you will find a different story. The walls are paper thin, you will have no privacy! MICE-ROACHES-MICE-ROACHES-MICE you can beat'em it's too many, spiders too. No modernized units here! These apartments are really stepping stone apartments for people who are moving out of the projects, or falling on desperately hard times. If you love living here, chances are your an Alcoholic/Crack-head. Emma Jean is the most ------, lazy and unprofessional leasing manager in the world! Apartments are filthy at the time of move in! BUIDLINGS LIKE THESE IN CHICAGO SHOULD BE DEMOLISHED. Once they have your money you'll be treated like ----.

Recent Move In and I will tell you these few things: #1.ROACHES!!!! Obviously because the rent is cheap and this is a large building, the tenants/ management donyeseem to care that this place seems to be teeming with them. It has become so commonplace that management isn't surprised. EVER.To hear about it. I came from the south loop and suffice to say....I don't do roaches, so when I arrived here and witnessed the madness going on, I had to personally wage war in that unit. What I noticed was a half-hour butt ( if that) effort (I use that term very loosened) at #2. MAINTENANCE!!!!! We all know the saying " If you keep putting band aids on everything, pretty soon you'll have a bloody mess.." Yep. From the smell in the hallways to the overall conditions of the units, I would say they've pretty much dropped the ball.I only have a small unit yet I have gone through 3 tubes of caulk just to seal the cracks to keep their roaches out. The " new paint job" is very shoddy, as whoever painted didn't even bother to paint all the way to the floorboards. The rugs in the hall are filthy filthy filthy. Sure, there's "maintenance staff that lives here" but.....well.....remember what I said about the band aids. This place is just in a nutshell messed up, but the rent is cheap so I guess in their minds this makes it ok. Not. Run. Don't walk....elsewhere wih your money.

Save your $35.00 so-called Application Fee. Lord, please forgive me for doing this review but i'm sooooo sorry in Jesus Name. I was applying to Country Club Apartments because i need a cheaper place to stay. As the staff called me and denied my application (because of this so-called credit check) , to me, it's was a wonderful relief. That place was really lousy, it's old and raggerly and most of all it's not safe. The staff itself they not so friendly at all. I feel like i'm not welcome. Unprofessional. The apartments and trust me, it's not all that. Unless you get a bedroom apartment you might see a view or other wise don't waste your money. This place is Rat/Roach infested. I found a rat waste on one of the steps and i'm not lying. The mailbox looks like it's not safe, The security door section is messed up. Can i go on??? If you are looking for a place in Chicago or if you want to live by the beach, Country Club Apartments is not the place.

I lived here for 10 years and 2 owners. Many problems with return of Security Deposit, no matter how much notice is given. Be sure to perform both move in and move out walk thrus with property manager. Maintenance personnel do not count and management and/or ownership will not return your deposit or provide you with a letter stating why deposit not returned. I provided a 4 month move-out notice because I was moving out of state after being a caretaker to my uncle (who had also lived in a separate apartment in the same building for 15 years while his security deposit was absorbed by the owner) died. After being promised my security deposit, I contacted a lawyer specializing in property management after 3 months of the "run around". The management refused to accept all and/any certified correspondence from either me or the lawyer. (All were returned and marked "refused"). If I had not moved out of state, I would return and take this case to small claims court since Housing Advocacy Agencies stated I could sue for 2xs the amount of the security deposit. I was not the only former tenant who did not receive their security deposit back nor was provided with an explanation. Laundry room equipment is broken the majority of the times and it is the tenant's responsibility to call for repair. In winter parking lot is rarely plowed, except for restaurant area. First come first served parking spaces of about 60 spaces for 100 units (in the summer, in the winter it goes down to about 40 spaces per 100 units). Have experienced stolen mail 2 times because it was put in the wrong central mailbox slot. No after-hours/weekend maintenance. Maintenance and office personnel are friendly, however all decisions are made by ownership, who really don't care. No matter how long you live there (mine was 10 years) there is no loyalty or honesty in the end. Mice and roaches remain even after monthly extermination. Very old building with very old sinks, doors, carpeting, etc. Hallway carpeting is horrible. Apartments are either too hot or too cold.
