Cockroaches are still a huge problem. Also, there is a fire station a few blocks away. I am not exaggerating when I say that I hear sirens multiple times a day and am woken up between 5 and 5:30 at least a few times a week.

This is a wonderful community I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an apartment. The apartments are huge at an afffordable price and the neighborhood is great. You cant go wrong here. The management and maintenance staff are wonderful their courteous and helpful anytime I come in contact with them. My experience here this year has been the best I look forward to renewing my lease and I am happy with the choice I have made here at Gramercy Row.

All I have to say people is COCKROACHES... this place is infested with them. I lived here for a year and cant wait to leave. The laudryroom has nasty cockroaches to the point where you don't want to wash your clothes. I had to spend $150 of my own money for extermination which they told me was due to an infestation from the boileroom where the laundry room is. When I confronted management with this never got a call back until I complained to the corporate office. There is always something going on with the building. My neighbor got locked in her apartment because the doorknob fell off!!! She was screaming for help. The maintenance man tells her out of all the properties TLC management owns Grammercy Row units are the worst because they are so old.. Turn away from these units people. Management is poor and does not care about its tenants. The location is great and the price is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.!!!!

This is by far the worst management in the city! TLC does not care about their residents! Landlord is never available, very HIGH employee turnover, heat always breaks, management is RUDE and does not listen to their residents. Don't be fooled by the great location...There is a reason why Gramercy Row is the only affordable apartment in the area!!

The location is great: easy access to buses, the el and just minutes to the loop. My apartment was very clean when I moved in, and the kitchen is new. However, management is a bit slow responding to maintenance requests and the heat is turned all the way on (and I can't control it). Personally I would like a more neighborhoody feel, but I really can't complain about being basically downtown.

This place is disgusting, I found a cockroach in my bed. When I called management, they were not helpful or sympathetic with my situation. They aren't knowledgeable with the proper procedures needed to exterminate a cockroach problem. Don't live here

Pros - Location: close to everything you need - Rent: Among the cheapest you can find in river north Cons - Old building: looks like never renovated. Dark hall way, smelly carpet, everything just look so old. - Low floor: 3 or 4 floors at most, which means serious street noise. You will want to shoot yourself when a loud ambulance passes by at 1am. - Laundry: Only one in the basement of main building. If you happen to live in 672, 676, 678 N Dearborn, congratulations you have to walk out to 660 N Dearborn to do your laundry. - Gym: Tiny room the same size as a studio. Nobody uses such a fitness room in the basement. - Parking: Street parking only, hard to get a spot, garage parking in adjacent building costs $280/month.

I am not able to write a full review because NO ONE ever showed up for the appointment I had to show an apartment. So I was unable to see anything. I called the leasing office, twice, she was of no help! She finally said I might as well leave with NO apology! If this is how they treat perspective renters, I can t imagine current tenants!

I just moved in a couple of months ago and I really like it here. I have a large apartment with hardwood floors and walk-in closets (finally!) You can't beat the location... Whole Foods is across the street---and living off Huron and Erie for under $900 is hard to find. (Believe me I tried) Nightlife is the best, there's tons of bars and restaurants down the street. Neighbors are very cool and the place takes pets. Definitely a diamond in the rough!
