The size of my apartment is truly ideal. It is spacious, very open, and has lots of closet space. One of my favorite features is the dining area and kitchen. These two areas are separated from the living area and it helps to make it feel like it has more rooms than it does. I enjoyed being able to set up an eating area, which I didn't have room for in my last apartment. The kitchen is also very nice and recently upgraded with great updated appliances. The bedroom contains two huge closets and nice big window that looks out onto the neighborhood below. It is very pleasant here in the morning and very quiet at night. I really enjoy living on a peaceful, tree-lined street. I work close by so I feel very lucky to have found such a nice place in the neighborhood. Now I can walk or bike to work which makes my life that much easier! There is also lots of public transportation options in close by so I can get around Chicago with ease. The entire neighborhood is full of fun things to do. The restaurants are all delicious and there is lots of different types of food to try. Shopping around here is excellent and so is the nightlife! So many things to choose from.

When I arrived, my apartment was clean and everything was in perfect working order. I loved how well cared for the floors were and how clean the new paint was on the walls. It made moving in that much easier. I also enjoy the layout of the space. It feels roomy and has a nice big window and lots of closets. I've only lived here a month and I haven't encountered any issues thus far. The other tenants inform me that the building engineer is very prompt when it comes to fixing things in the building and their apartments. That's a nice feeling, knowing everything will be quickly taken care of. I also appreciate that Planned Property Management is already checking in to see how everything is going. I got the sense when was working with them to find my new apartment that they'd be attentive and communicative and I am very pleased so far. I am quite pleased with the location. The street is quiet and I don't hear any traffic from my window. The businesses of Lakeview are all in walking distance from my front door as is the park. I also like the vast selection of public transportation options so close by.

My building manager is great. He completes and fixes things in a timely manner. The building itself is usually very clean and the outside grounds are some of the best on the street. There are beautiful flowers and green grass in the summer. He also always shovels the walks in the wintertime. He also answers all phone calls in a timely fashion and says "Hello" when we see each-other. It is a nice feeling to live in a building with such a pleasant manager. My apartment is wonderful. It was very clean when I first moved in and I really appreciated that. I was happy with how the rooms were laid out and the size of the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom as well as all the closet space. The kitchen is tucked away in the corner, right away the little dining nook which helps open up the living room. My bedroom is very cozy with beautiful light in the morning. I also have an entire wall of closets in this room, which is so so helpful to keeping everything very clean. It is also very convenient that we have both laundry and parking onsite. So many amenities in one beautiful building!

I like living at 544 W Melrose St very much. I picked this building because of it's great location. It is so easy to get work by public transportation and during the warmer months I'm close enough to the lakefront that I can ride my bike to work on the bike path. I can't stress how nice that is! Lincoln Park is such a special part of Chicago and I feel lucky to live here. Lakeview is a very popular part of town which makes for lots of cool places to eat. I love all the options I have. I definitely dine out a lot! I also have friends visited me and they all love the area and find it very easy to get to. There are also a great selection of places to go for comedy which I absolutely love. Another great thing about Chicago! Plenty of grocery stores close by and other handy dandy stuff. I really do have everything I need super close. We have laundry in the building which is great as well as parking. Even though I don't have a car, I know other tenants really appreciate it. The apartment and building are very clean and well maintained. I like the size of apartment and feel very happy here.

My favorite part about living here is the layout of my apartment. Hove how having a small hall when you enter make it feel bigger than it is. It is a nice way to enter my space. There is also a nice sized closet on my right and a small room before the bathroom that has two closets! When you live in a studio apartment, closets are of the utmost importance. I am also impressed with how big the kitchen id It has a little opening up to the living space with a breakfast bar. How nice is that! And then the living space is also a nice size with a big window The whole place is clean and fresh. I like it a lot! I needed some maintenance done in my apartment and Ovi finished it quickly. He is a very nice person and very professional. I appreciate his presence in the building. He keeps everything clean and in working order. It is really awesome that I have laundry and parking my building too! The building itself feels very safe and it makes me feel even better to have my own parking spot. A really nice building in an amazing location. What more could I ask fort

I really appreciated the excellent hot water and excellent heat through the long cold winter this year. It was bad! The dedicated building engineer kept things clean and neat all year long. He was especially vigilant about the snow outside, keeping the sidewalks nice and clear. Thanks to Ovi and Planned Property Management for maintaining such a good building. I am moving out of Chicago but I've really enjoyed by time here and in Lakeview. I was able to put together a very cozy apartment at 544 W Melrose for my one year in the city. This neighborhood also showed me the best the city has to offer. I loved living so close to the park as well as the restaurants on Broadway. I got to experience all the excellent dining options in this town and loved it! I was also close to Intelligentsia which is nothing to sneeze at. All the buses and subways close by allowed me to get around the city with ease but I really did spend a lot of time close to home. I would recommend this area to anyone and would certainly recommend Planned Property Management. They really know their stuff and make sure to find the perfect place for you!

I like living here because it is clean and quiet. The details of my apartment and the bathrooms are very nice. The nice vanity, light fixtures, and cabinets all come together to form a very nice place to live. I have more than enough room and lots of closet space. I also love the size of the window. It lets in nice light in the morning and there are lots of trees outside. The engineer is very attentive and nice. He keeps the whole space tidy and fixed something for me very quickly. I like that he lives onsite. It feels good knowing that if anything happens, he is around to safe the day! Also, the location can't be beat: everything I need is one block away! Broadway is full of all the necessities of living. Grocery stores, banks, bars, coffee shops, everything. It makes such a difference that I can walk to everything. If I need something right away, I'm pretty sure I can find it right outside my door. I love all the convenience of living here. Great public transportation too and close proximity to the park. The street is quiet and pleasant. Really I have no complaints!

Planned Property Management buildings are always clean, well managed, and are in great locations. They showed me a few different ones before I selected this unit and I was impressed with them all. I picked this spot because the apartments were so roomy and spacious feeling. Ovi, the building engineer takes great care of the entire property. Nice lobby, hallway, and elevators. The added bonus of in-house washer/dryer facilities and covered parking, all within walking distance of the Lake and Wrigleyville, make this building all the more attractive. There are so many nice things to do in this area and I also enjoy living on Melrose. Chicago is known for it architecture and there are several interesting buildings on this street along with plenty of beautiful trees. It is a pleasant walk to all the sites and sounds of Wrigleyville. There are theaters, bars, and restaurants aplenty and of course Wrigley Field. I am really looking forward to this neighborhood in the summer. I can't wait to spend my weekends in the park or in the lake if it ever gets warm enough. As well as catching a game at the park or one of the many bars in town. And then I get to easily walk home and not have to look for parking. How perfect is that!?

Here's a list of everything that's wrong with the building: Heating: In the winter months, while slowly turning into a popsicle I called my maintenance guy and asked if he could do anything about the heat. He sealed the windows and installed a garbage bag with duct tape over the air conditioner which significantly helped. He also gave me a portable heater which I had to keep on almost all through the winter. The heater helped and the place became pretty livable after that but keep in mind, you are responsible for your electric bill and that tends to add up fast. Bugs: I've had two encounters. Once a plethora (I lost count at 20) of flies decided to suddenly fill up my kitchen. While disgusted, me and my friend turned it into a competition and hunted them all done. I assume they sprayed another apartment and they all decided to head my way through the kitchen vent. What's more recent and has me completely disgusted is a half grown cockroach that came in through the kitchen and escaped under the sink. I am so glad I will be moving in a month because I can't stop thinking about it and feel like I need to scrub every piece of clothing/surface/dish before i touch it. Cockroaches multiply fast so I hope for the sake of the building that it escaped next door and my neighbors got to him/her before it reproduced. Laundry room: Cramped with old machines. I've had soaking wet clothes come out of the dryer at multiple times. I mentioned a refund but was never given anything. I probably would have but at 1.50$ I just let it go. Carpet: If you have hair and don't have an industrial sized/grade A vacuum, you will end up with hair balls all over the carpet. It is a nightmare. Noise: While the noise issue isn't too big of a deal it's worth mentioning- If you live in one of the apartments facing the street you will hear drunk people through the night on the weekends. On Saturday mornings, there's usually some cheerful chatter before/after services from the synagogue next door. Twice during the day, you can also hear children going to and from the schools across the street and two lots down. Smoke: If you live in an apartment directly above the entrance chances are you may occasionally feel like you are hanging out with the smokers downstairs which is great because who doesn't want the smell of second hand smoke from the comfort of their bed. Good: The maintenance guy, Ovi, is great at what he does and always a pleasure to run into. The location The space/apartment itself

Laundry is a problem in this building. I HATE even thinking about doing laundry here even though i used to like doing laundry. Problems: 1. Not enough machines: 3 washers and 4 dryers. The building of this size should have 8 each. Hard to find an empty machine. 2. Dryers do not dry. Clothes consistently come out damp. Normal load, small load - still wet. One machine seems to be ok. 3. Inadequate space. The room is SUPER little. The dryer doors do not open all the way, they hit the wall blocking access, you need to be a contortionist to load up the dryer. I'm not sure if its possible for somebody who is old or physically challenged to load it up. 4. The machines are old. Inefficient. I'd be ok with that if they worked but see above. There is no timer on the machines so nobody knows when the laundry is done. There are constantly somebody's clothes sitting the machine. 5. No clock on the wall. fyi washer = $1.50 dryer = $1.50 coins only. I like a lot of things about this building. But i would seriously consider this laundry issue if I were you. It makes your weekend miserable. Management is pretty good here. They recently installed a bike rack. I wish they changed the laundry room.
