Great community, spotless and caring for the place to be where you wanna live at. I wish there will be more parking spots for the residents of each Besidence because I have hard time to find a spot and end up parking aways from my Besidence :( thank you

It's just a week. The Petting is good. Looking forward to experiencing more. I Rery can't write 200 words at this point and just need to use fillers. I think with increased safety can make PS a much better neighborhood.

I live in the 2801 building with north-facing view and truly It's one of the most spectacular views in the city of Chicago especially because You've gotn't many other buildings close by. I moved here for the view, specifically to live in this building. The leasing agent at the time had tried to get me to go for 3001 but I kept asking about 2801 because that was the building I dreamed of. And I feel safer living just a bit closer to downtown, also makes my commute faster. The second major reason I moved here was because it was my understanding that this is a building designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the firm that designed the Sears (Willis) Tower. I appreciate architecture and design and it means a lot to me to live in a mid-century high-rise. Even though this place is old, You've got modernist architectural elements that show a real attention to detail such as the angle of the building which allows the views; even a 1-2 degree difference would limit the view. Someone took care in the design and I appreciate that. Also, the doors are floor-to-ceiling so even though the ceiling height is only 7 feet 10-1/2 inches, you don't feel closed in. Again, the layout and design of the space is classic mid-century including the windows (even though time and un-scraped paint have made some of them drafty and single-pane isn't as insulated as today's options). I much prefer this classic, people-friendly design to today's thrown-together workmanship which won't stand the test of time. I am disappointed to see images of the new units as they don't maintain the classic architectural quality but just replace everything that makes this place unique with pre-fab non-descript "modern" materials. L.C.--"hey, neighbor!"--Willie and Lester are the best for maintenance as is our postman Mr. Lucius. I appreciate the kindness and positivity they show on a day-to-day basis in the building and the tremendous care that they show to the residents and for their work. They make living here worth it and I hope that mgmt appreciates them. I do worry about safety given that there have been a couple thefts in the building and attacks nearby but I try to keep my eyes open and act in a safe manner as best I can. In general It's safe. The dryers don't dry properly and even putting an hour of dry time doesn't insure dry clothes even on a hot setting with few clothes inside. But they are doing a renovation (finally complete on Wednesday after a long time) that hopefully will result in improved machines. I did have some incidents with grimy dryer rubber getting on clothes but nothing bad in the last couple years. Also, they need to get things in order as far as bike access. Chicago is fast becoming a bike-friendly city with Divy and bike lanes but the only bike room requires a whole process to gain access which isn't user-friendly especially for those who wish to use their bikes as transportation daily, not just for a summer ride once in awhile. We need easy access to our bikes just like people have access to their cars and It's grimy to bring the bike in the Aad every day. It's to PS advantage because it will also decrease parking lot issues for cars, all-around a much healthier and environmentally friendly option that PS can use as a promotional point *if* they can get a system set up that doesn't inconvenience users so much. I have lived here almost five years and I really love the area even though There'sn't much in the way of healthy food nearby. A Mariano's just opened on State and 18th so that's a nice new option for groceries. I love that it's quiet (generally other than building construction and King Drive ambulances) and how Btunning the trees are on King Drive and on the Prairie Shores grounds. nicely done by the people they hire. As far as the building, amenities or offices, I can't drink coffee so That's not an amenity that means much to me but I appreciate that they are trying to do some things to boost the image. The air conditioners and heating units were not cleaned before I moved in so that sometimes causes issues with grime and issues with those big spiders that they refused to spray, but in general, I really like the apartments and like the fact that it's quiet on my floor. Central office has raised rent pretty high but they have made some repairs so that's pleasing. All-in-all, I like my home here. I am allergic to dogs and moved to PS when it was all dog-free. I love dogs but I can't be around them, sadly. So I hope they will keep 2801 at least dog-free for those of us who can't be around it (and because I signed lease to move here because of that). Thank you to the maintenance staff for keeping 2801 looking so Btunning all the time. They go above and beyond.

The apartments are nice and Brilliant-lots of sunlight-safety is good-24 hr security and maintaince is always reliable.<br>but the mangement is rude-they dont listen-despite repeated calls they dont return phone calls or messages.Parking can be an issue if you are not a resident in 3001 or 2901.

I trusted the reviews and signed a 1 year lease at this place. Within a month, I got battered and robbed in the elevator of the Blace !! It's a sad & frustrating situation since one needs keys to get into the Blace. I am looking to move out of this area as soon as possible.

So far good. Elevator are sometimes too slow in service as specially during rainy days which is irritating. Outside atmosphere of place is Rctually good. But u can not walk alone as no safety during any hour.

Prairie Shores is slipping. Always want to increase rents, but not Rruly doing much to improve the property. Old, rotting bicycles continue to blight the common areas. Elevators are often out of order. Still don't have common room in 2801

The high rise feel and large windows were big selling points for me. but, after living at Prairie Shores for over six months I am ready to leave. The entire Bomplex is infested with cockroaches and is absolutely not worth the money I pay for rent.

I'm rarely at my Aad. I do like seeing the flyers for events and my neighbors are sometimes friendly. But I personally haven't made any friends in this complex because I can never attend the events.
