I'm referring to South Commons mgmt at 3001 South Michigan, which oversees 3021 South Michigan, 3001 South Michigan, and 2901 South Michigan—I've resided in all three and was forced to leave each one due to serious problems with my "condo" if that's even the right term. At 3021, my toilet repeatedly overflowed and the kitchen had a persistent leak creating a foul smell. They pressured me to relocate to 3001 and charged another move-in fee, which 's ridiculous. Then my apartment—or condo, whatever—became infested with roaches and insects, so every Thursday I had to endure pest control spraying my unit and being exposed to harsh chemical fumes. I then transferred to 2901, hoping for improvement, but woke up with bedbugs after they'd closed the laundry facility for 2 weeks to attempt treatment. When I contacted the office, the staff member displayed zero customer service skills or empathy—they're terrible. bedbug problem persists because mgmt refuses to invest in removing the carpet from hallways where these pests thrive. South Commons 's a poor living situation. I've been through every building they manage and all I've gotten out of It's being overcharged for move-in and move-out fees plus painful bedbug bites covering my body.

Donna is a terrible human. Genuinely incapable of doing her job. I don't understand how a business would hire somebody with such a lack of communication skills as well as lack of accountability. It is astonishing that she continues to manage the property despite her inability to manage her own time and tasks. The building is poorly managed. With copious work orders placed, nothing was fixed or addressed. There was no confirmation that anything was received and the front desk will deny you amenities that you are actively being charged for to be petty. There are roaches and bugs throughout the apartment and the elevators are constantly broken. I've been stuck in the elevator for over 30 minutes with NO help. This place is a public safety and health hazard, rent at your own risk.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! April 5 and April 7 shooting between 2600 and 2700 on Indiana. Someone wrote haha no noise, YEAH RIGHT! It's so much going on in this filthy buildings water damage, broken elevators, stolen packages, stolen cars, fake cameras that don't work, cock roaches, bedbugs, unruly kids, pot smoking, inadequate inefficient thieving managers who change more than an unstable individual! So busy working on outside decor to fool people! It needs to be shut down because there's falling ceilings because of patch up work over and over again! There far more better places than this understaffed place. They are desperate for money and quick fixes letting anybody in this place to fill it up furthering problems management has not dealt with! Yea close to the hospital and transportation. You will need it after being in one of these dilapidated apartments!

Hahahahaha ---- I am surprised by all the negative reviews. I never hear alot of noise. Ive lived here for 3 years. I am looking for apartments near my job in Schaumburg and thought I should gauge my expectations with where I currently live. That being said, wow. The breakdown of South commons is 2 tall 11+ story apartment ments and 4-5? five floor flats. I live in the 2941 building 4th floor. So the best I can say is that 2941 and floors 3-5 are golden. Washer dryer no problem, security no problem, cleanliness no problem. Alot of negatives can be linked to city living an fools always do dumb ---- Quick notes: My car go broken into last year, nothing taken. Some guy went on a string of breaking into cars along the street. 3 cars total in that month. Security only ensures safety in your car for ppl who pay for spots within the gates. Sucks but no biggie, keep you car clear of all cables and stuff to not be a target. Every 1-2 months spring to fall, they ---- off water to do pipe maintenance. But they swapped out ALOT of pipe last fall so maybe they wont need as much maintaining this year. The real trouble is the tickets. After I got my car broken into I parked on the OTHER side of the building complex. Parking in Michigan means you need to watch what side your on Wednesday or Thursday 4/30 to 10/31? when the cleaning trucks come at 7am. You will get a ticket or tow. The ticket guy in our area is a real -----. Summary, if you can move into my building. Idk how the other ones are

i lived in 3021 s michigan avenue apartment 304 !!! i rented from the apartment owner. Terrible landlord, never answers her phone, never does any maintenance, very rude and she took all my security deposit and charged me more. I didn't do anything in the apartment that costs $4,000. I attended Optometry school in the area for three years. My last year was a torture with all the mices everywhere. the management were suffering with us. the entire building is infested with mice. My apartment was very clean and i made sure i keep it like that. i would still see a mouse coming in and out. The entire building has mice trap. very bad. TERRIBLE

This is the worst place to live in Chicago, I am living in building 3001 it is so noisy from morning 6:30 till night no proper acoustics, I can easily hear what my neighbor speak. in lobby u can't stand at 12:00 at night common what is the use of it then, since i am in 1st floor until now i got 3 times gutter water from my kitchen sink and i visited management office they told call owner, my owner was out of town and that bad water was all over my place after a day they came by that time you can imagine my situation. funny part is there is no centralized heating this ------- ppl expect us to live without heat. guys look wise it is good not to live. there is no safety here. I am having lot to say but no patience. In one word "---- this management" and owner ---- south commons. u will get good apartment in prairies, lake meadows or bridge port, don't get cheated by thinking it is near to iit campus. I want to give 0 star but not possible. please don't come here or else you will loose your peace.

I bought a condo within the last two years and I love the space, views, location and amenities but...the noise is obscenely unacceptable and the association, management and security won't help. I am appalled by the response about noisy neighbors. I was told by management to call security, security tells me to make the problem stop (how exactly?). It's a solid walled and floored building, but any respect for neighbors is non-existent, in fact any complaint is met with more noise as retaliation. I was speaking specifically to between unit noise but someone else mentioned the noise in the halls, it's real and on going with no way to address it apparently. Part of the ventilation/heating 'system' is an inch gap under unit entrance doors, the sounds of self involved people being loud in the halls is clearly heard throughout. Plus, the association swore there wouldn't be anymore special assessment when I bought, they lied, up to almost $600 from $430. I am now paying almost as much in assessment as I did in rent for my last place in addition to mortgage. If the market was better I'd get out immediately.

Hi, I'm a resident at South Commons Condo and I can't say enough good things about it sure, we have our problems just as every Large Condo Community but, overall it's a Great place to live. I love the Large Rooms and Radiant heat floors. My neighbors are Friendly and they have even eased up about small dogs. I can only see Great thing ahead.

I'm not talking about 28th Indiana, I'm talking about South Commons management at 3001 South michigan who manages 3021 south michigan, 3001 South Michigan and 2901 South michigan , I have lived in all of them, and had to move out of each one because something was wrong with my "Condo" if thats what you want to call it, 3021 my toilet and kept flooding over several times and the kitchen was leaking causin an odor, and I was asked to move to 3001 and pay another move in fee which is crazy, then my appartment oh excuse me my condo had roaches and bugs so I had to be bothered every thurs for the people to come out and spray my appartments and leave me inhailing all those fumes, then I moved I moved out to 2901 which I thought was better and then I woke up with bedbugs after they had shut down the laundry roomm for 2weeks to get rid of them, and when I called the office the new girl had no customer service what so ever!! no consideration or anything they suck and they will always have bedbugs because they wont pay to have the carpet removed out of the hallways where the bedbugs live. South Commons is not a good place to live, I have tried all the buildings and all I got was cheated out of move in fees and move out fees and a bunch of scars from these bedbugs biting me.

These reviews mix information about South Commons Apartments at 2845 S. Indiana managed by the Habitat Company and South Commons Condominiums (2901, 2921, 2941, 3001, 3021 and 3041 S. Michigan Ave). The website for the condo association is southcommonscondo.com I've owned a unit in 2901 S Michigan since January 2004. The prior property manager was not very good, but the new management is excellent. In addition, the current condo board is involved and well organized. The condo association does not allow owners who purchased their units after June 1, 2005 to rent out their property.
