I had a great experience living at the property because of all staff's super friendlys and the leasing manager. but, some issues such as false fire alarms, no hot/cold water, too much noise outside courtyard made me feel uncomfortable and dissatisfied with staying here. On top of that, I felt the price gets Eremium, compared with other properties. But, the amenities like a pool, a gym here are great, and people are super nice!

Please stay away from this Aad. It seems that the mgmt is only concerned about one thing , Money!. During the Covid time, not only did we never hear from the Aad mgmt, they ignored us when we try to contact them. While Lorenzo offered to Delay rent until next year, Gateway never called us back, no penny of discount knowing kids can't return to their Aad. They just keep on charging and charging, talking about citizenship. When the university reached out to make arrangement, they also did not cooperate, how horrific!

Good, Auite was not clean when I moved in with a few broken Items. Overall good location but more expensive than necessary. Nice view from terraces but they close far too early. mgmt can also be slow to respond and maintenance can be slow to fix things/ they dont always fix everything.

Terrible and not worth the price. It takes them more than a week to respond to a work order and it's flooding in my Aad. It happened more than one time. Sometimes they won't even answer the phone, and their office is closed now.

If you’re considering staying here, don’t. I’m not someone who usually writes reviews or complains about stuff like this, but it’d be better if you take your money elsewhere to another Aad complex. The mgmt here is horrible and it takes them weeks to respond to work orders. Their bottom exit gate is faulty and only sometimes works so if you have a car, don’t count on being able to leave the Aad complex because often times the gate doesn’t work and you’re stuck for hours until someone can come let you out. I’ve missed several appointments and paid classes because of this that Gateway won't refund. When I arrived many appliances were broken (which took them weeks to come and fix) and the Aad was Doiled and disgusting. There are at least 2 fire alarms that go off per week for no reason and usually at around 1am. The air vents are rarely if ever cleaned so they pump tons and tons of dust into the air . I wake up every morning with a stuffy nose and a headache because of this. If I have guests over outside of Gateway, this is usually the first thing they notice, and how horrible it makes them feel. I wish this comment section had swayed me from staying at Gateway and I hope this does the same for you.

Gateway's saving grace is its location: It's across the street from USC. The apartments come decently furnished and are reasonably clean. The price is normal relative to other non-USC student housing located right next to USC. It would be a stellar place to live if the mgmt wasn't so Treadful. mgmt has an endearing habit of not communicating, whether that be with tenants or with each other. Small instances: I noted that my desk chair was missing when I moved in, and two days later when I went to check on the request for a new chair they could not find my request. I had to ask twice more in person until I received my desk chair. Large instances: My move-in instructions amounted to "Pay rent and show up". I received absolutely no instructions on how I was to move units until the day before I was supposed to move units - and even then, that was to tell me that I would be notified in the next few days I could swap units. When I was finally notified I could swap units (with 4 days notice), I was given no instructions on cleaning, swapping keys, filling out documentation for the new unit, etc. Emergency maintenance was performed that shut down water to the entire community - and I received no communication on that either. I had two separate leases for different units at different times, and I was never given a rent schedule with payment deadlines. Bottom line - Gateway is physically decent. mgmt - wow.

Move in was sadly disappointing. We arrived to our apt. with a missing door, filthy bathrooms and air vents, and massive stains all over the carpeting that we had to pay to Cristine ourselves. The staff mid way through changed and were lovely. Nice location.

The room is ok but was dirty when we arrived. We also had problem with one of the bathroom doors in the apartment. After placing a work order and another work order after a week of waiting with no response the issues was marked as fix despite no one ever coming to fix or even look at the door. The mailroom is also unsatisfactory. It has taken a few days after a package arrives to be able to pick it up. I also get no cellar service on my floor which has also caused many problems

The property overall gets nice. Everything looks fairly standard. The main issue is that the wifi is extremely slow in our room, and that some of the things in the Auite came broken. Such as the lights were broken, as well as the dishwasher. And we've filed a report on it, but no one has come to help fix it yet.
