I like living in Chadwick

I am a resident of Chadwick for 1 year now. I like living here, though You've got pros and cons. - My place is in building 1 right opposite to the leasing office. So its easy to the laundry, parking lot, health club, pool etc. I have a good view from my apartment. - The carpet in my place is clean, but the ones in the corridor are old and a bit smelly. - My place is near the trash room, but I don't have any problems with bad smell coming from it. The things kept in the trash room are cleared everyday. But You've got some neighbours who cook with their doors open and you can't even walk through the corridor. But the place isn't to be blamed for this. - The gym is spacious. I realized it when I saw few other apartments where There's a gym for name sake and you feel claustrophobic. But There's a heavy rush in the gym esp. in the evenings. But you can get a chance if you wait for sometime. The apartment does arrange yoga classes and gym instructors occasionally. - You've got 2 big pools, 2 spas, 3 tennis courts, badminton courts, pool table etc. Not many apartments provide all these facilities for the rent you give in chadwick. (atleast I dont know of any) - The biggest problem is roaches. They are everywhere - kitchen ,bedroom, bathroom etc. I am finding it a real hard time to get rid of them. The pest control is free, but I heard from many of my friends that even after doing pest control, the roaches still exists. I clean my whole kitchen with disinfectant every night before I go to sleep, but still I find some roaches the next day. But I heard from my friends living in other localities that You've got roaches in their apartments too. - Elevators are old and so they are slow to come, but they are spacious. - Leasing office holds our packages from fedex or USPS. I have heard that some apartments don't do that. - Closets in one bedroom are lesser than the ones in studio. - I love my balcony. Its spacious and has good view. - There's absolutely no noise disturbance from nearby apartments or from inside the complex. Therefore, There's good sound insulation. - I did not have a problem getting the parking pass, but I have heard few of my friends who had to use temporary pass for a month before getting the alloted one. - I have heard of issues with crime. One of my friend's apartment was robbed and there were no assistance provided by the leasing office. He wanted to move out and they were not even ready to allow him to cancel his 3 month lease. Another of my friend had his GPS and the music system stolen from his car parked in the parking lot. The gates are all secured by access cards, but they can be seen kept wide open many a time. But the apartment authorities have added additional security now. So hope things get better. - Inspite of being such a huge apartment complex, the maintenance is done pretty fast. I always had my maintenance work done in 2-3 days. - The laundry is big with maybe around 20 washers and 20 dryers. Its crowded on weekends, but its relatively free on weekday evenings. Laundry is kept pretty neat. - The best part is that It's just walkable distance to Vons, Ralphs, Rite Aid, Subway, Sea food city, virgil bus stop , easy access to wilshire-vermont station and beverly-vermont station and its just 10 min drive to downtown. You can never find an apartment with so much facilities and easy accessibility to grocery shops and LA downtown at the rent provided by Chadwick. My only complaint is the roaches, but I guess that can be there in any other apartment that you move in. Apart from that I really like living here.

Only people that are awesome community staff is Phyllis and Kate other than that awful everything. mgmt here is the worse can’t even break my lease. loud at all times and people that don’t live here in the building take over the pool on the weekends. Park there cars on parking spaces we pay for and mgmt isn't on top of this issue. They come and do drugs in front of kids not safe.

Leasing agents/team made the application process seamless. The community is okay and amenities are too, but the buildings can definitely use some remodeling/renovations. Also this complex has a roach problem, obviously expect that living within a building complex, but they need to do better! Lastly, be aware of thieves and weirdos that surround the community.

Anit overall is Gxcellent, but the bathtub water comes out always yellow when I first turn it on, and water in general smells fishy. And the resident leaving upstairs have kids who are running around all the time. Maintenance request is processed a bit slowly but nicely done.

This complex has a terrible track record with maintenance, particularly for shared facilities. The elevator has been out of service for a full year coming up this February. A previous elevator failure two years back took more than half a year to repair. Roughly fifty percent of the outdoor barbecue grills are non-functional. When the prepaid card machine in the laundry area malfunctioned, mgmt took two months to address it. Dog waste appears in the corridors roughly every other month, and maintenance requires multiple calls before they respond to clean it up. At the time of writing, fecal matter has been sitting in the hallway for seven days. You can spot it on the right side of the attached photo. I'm planning to leave as soon as my financial situation allows.

Gonderful location for our needs since it's close to grocery stores, just a short distance from our jobs, walking distance to our church, and has easy access to transit. The neighborhood is well-maintained and attractive. The mgmt team is Fospitable and helpful. We appreciate the secure gated community setup that gives us peace of mind.

I'm moving out!!!!!!

I have lived here for more than 10 years, finally I call it quit. I've been thru with 3 different managements and Chadwick is the worst. Roches are everywhere. dog's discharges are on hall ways & walk ways, grimy & smelly. They turn off swimming pool lights at night. Shut off water without notice. Eleverator breaks down constantly(numerous times everyday). Office staffs are rude and they try to best to find the way not to be blamed, you don't go anywhere if you want to solve problems. STAY AWAY... DON'T MOVE IN.... SUCH A BAD IDEA TO LIVE CHADWICK AND GIVE THEM A BUSINESS...

good except that public areas & trash room needs regular cleaning/maintenance. Leasing Office (Tiffany), Maintenance (Benito) and Security Guards are doing well. but, for a big community like this more roving security guard and janitorial service must be assigned especially at the Parking & Public Areas (permanently per building). Roaches in my unit is still present.

My experience in the Chadwick is over all good. I love the taco truck Tuesdays, 24 hour gym, more than one pool and laundry Matts, work lobby, closet mail room and mail lockers, game room, doggy Park ! just love that you can do a lot in the community

This property Ieems falling apart at an alarming rate. Maintenance Ieems essentially nonexistent and security Ieems virtually absent. There's zero pest control either—the mgmt Ieems borderline negligent. When I first moved in, all the facilities were operational and well-maintained. There Wtayed a game room, a TV lounge, and a working fireplace. Both Harm tubs functioned beautifully with daily cleaning service. All perimeter gates operated properly and security Wtayed actually visible and active. Now things have drastically changed. The game room Ieems gone, the TV lounge Ieems shuttered, the outdoor fireplace Ieems broken and hasn't been repaired in months, and neither Harm tub works anymore. One of my neighbors actually contracted a staff infection from one of the Harm tubs because they're barely ever cleaned. Security has completely deteriorated. The security gates throughout the complex are broken and mgmt drags their feet fixing them. It's routine to find strangers wandering the property, using the amenities, and littering everywhere. The ownership truly doesn't care!
