First things first, the management is the best part about this apartment. Carl is by the books which means he doesn't pull favoritism and he wants everyone to follow the same rules. The building is a mix of professionals, families and students with varying degrees of courtesy. Some people will help keep the complex clean and others will write notes on signs, throw trash around, etc. Repairs are made very quickly, complex is well maintained with a pretty garden area out front and they actually keep up with maintenance so things down look ------. The pool is indoor and heated with some sunlight that comes in through a pool sized sunroof. Apparently it's really neat to float in the pool and listen/watch the rain, but we didn't have a chance to do this. The hot tub is small but pretty comfy and can fit a good amount of people. There's a sauna back there, but it was out of order the whole time we lived there. Pool and hot tub are cleaned weekly and there is rarely anyone in there so it's your own private amenity most times. The gym is eh, so so, it has everything you need it's just really cold and unwelcoming, but that's how I feel about all gyms.. ;) Some residents play the TV really loudly and it can be abrasive. There's tons of entrances and exits and it's all open air. It can get a little cold during the winter.. ;) Our apartment could be noisy but we were closest to the school, the bars and the apartment building that faced us. Ugh. No privacy at all. People leave giant messes around the recycling bins and it gets sloppy. There's also a sun deck which is a couple of chairs and tables, it was nice to go between the pool, to sunning yourself, and then back down to the pool. It'd be nice if they put some plants up there.. Gated, private parking was great and there's rarely problems with street parking too. I always felt very safe, it's well lit, people are always around in the good way, there's cameras etc. If someone does get into the garage, they can't get into the building because you need a key. I highly recommend this place.. :)

Los Feliz Club Apartments was a great place to live and is in an awesome neighborhood. My wife and I lived there for approximately 5 years in a corner unit and miss it greatly. The only reason we moved was because we had to relocate for work. If life takes us back to that area, we wouldn't hesitate for a second to rent at Los Feliz Club again. The building is managed and maintained extremely well. Someone was always available. Any service issues were attended to and resolved very quickly. Many of the units were in the process of being renovated/updated when we left on '06. The Los Feliz neighborhood is a trendy active neighborhood with lots of life and wonderful shops. Los Feliz Club is close to everything. Around the corner, you can find restaurants, theaters, shops, banks, a library and much more. I highly recommend Los Feliz Club Apartments.

We lived in a 2B 2 bath apartment for 6 years and loved it! Carl, the building manager, does a fantastic job of caring for the building and all of its residents. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Our experience with Carl and the management staff was overwhelmingly positive. Plus, the amenities -- pool, spa pool, great rooftop deck -- are fantastic. And you cannot beat the location -- close to shops and restaurants on Vermont, Hillhurst, and Hollywood, and good freeway and Metro Redline access. We would definitely would recommend Los Feliz Club apartments to anyone looking for a great place to live in L.A. We hated to leave -- the only reason we did is because we moved out of state.

I lived in a 2 bedroom in Los Feliz Club which is located around the corner from all of the great shops and restaurants in Los Feliz. Carl the building manager runs a very tight ship. Problems (the small ones I had like the dish washer needing repair) got tended to right away. If you want to live in a place where you can blast your music and have strangers running in and out..don't live here. If you want to live in a quiet and excellently kept building in the heart of everything...move in! I really enjoyed my time there.

When I first moved into my 'executive' one bedroon apartment, Carl, the manager was very helpful and accomodating. At one point I mentioned that I would like to move into a one bedroom, when one became available, he gave me first right of refusal. I couldn't turn it down! When Carl was reoutfitting the gym he asked the users what type of equipment was wanted. I asked for a heavy bag to practice my Kung Fu kicks. It was done. I found that Carl manages with a heavy but equal hand. If one tenant is told not to do something, it is applied to all tenants. This is a very well run building. I left to live in a home I purchased. I would return to the Los Feliz Club apartments to live, if I ever needed to do so.

I recently finished up Grad school in the local Hollywood / Los Feliz area and have decided to remain in Los Angeles as I begin to take on the real world. In staying, I have decided to buy property while the market is still down, but it was a bittersweet decision knowing that I would soon be leaving the apartment complex I have called home for the past three years. I moved into a recently refurbished two bedroom unit at Los Feliz Club Apartments in the summer of '07 after doing an extensive search of other apartment complexes in the nearby area. It was clear that the refurbished two bedroom was head and shoulders above all the other complexes/units I had visited. The layout of the space, the complex's location and the new appliances gave me a sense of comfort after the whirlwind of a move my acceptance in Grad school forced me into. I soon came to realize that there were other classmates of mine living in the same building who also were happy with their apartments. Often, I would need to meet with friends in other nearby apartment buildings whose units were cheaper per month, but the quality of the construction and amenities were nowhere near as nice. It is true that this is not a complex that will work for everyone depending on price, size, location etc. and only you will be able to determine if it is the right fit. All I can say is that I have enjoyed living on a nice wide and fairly quiet street in a place that is walking distance to the post office, bank, 7/11, a slew of restaurants and even a decent little movie theater. As far as the management staff is concerned you can see that a lot of folks do not enjoy having to deal with the manager, Carl. However, I have never had any issues with Carl and although he can be a little rough around the edges sometimes, you know that deep down he really does care about his tenants and the building as a whole. He has certainly seen and done a lot during his twenty plus years in this complex/neighborhood and he wouldn't still be here if he didn't care about what goes on here. Not to mention, there are other staff members here who have always seemed very friendly to me when I see them in the halls. This is of course just my own personal opinion so I would strongly encourage any prospective renter to come visit the building and check things out for yourself. Who knows, maybe you'll end up in my former unit!

I'm generally a very friendly and tolerant person. However, even I have my breaking point. Heed warning: do not live here, Carl (the property manager) is a nightmare. I feel like it is my duty as a fellow human being to warn anyone before they sign on the dotted line that Carl will make your experience miserable. He is highly unreasonable and temperamental. While this is a great location and the amenities are nice (pool, hot tub, nice roof view), everything is old breaks down often and if you try and get it fixed, expect a fair amount of resistance and time before anyone shows up. And expect the inevitable run-in with Carl. I've lived here for two years, had a number of maintenance problems and am now moving out. My roommate has decided to stay and asked for a carpet cleaning since we've lived here two years and a maintenance problem that lasted 6 months badly stained our carpet (right by the front door). Carl's response to our reasonable request? No way, read your contract, that's your responsibility! Avoid this place, you'll save yourself a big headache.

Nice try, Carl! Oh, did anybody mention the armies of termites in the kitchen as soon as it's a little hot out? The manager's response to my call about this: "it's ok, it's only for a few days, until they all come out. I'll send somebody to deal with them", or something along those lines. And this in a self-annoited "luxury building". Pathetic.

We have been tenants since Feb 2008 and we love everything about the building. The facilities are great...nice units, gym, newly resurfaced pool and jacuzzi and it is all cared for very well! Even fresh flowers each week in the lobby! It has secured, underground parking! One huge laundry room with 20 machines and a smaller one with 6. Obviously you are in the heart of Los Feliz and are walking distance to everything and I mean EVERYTHING! The tenants tend to keep to themselves so if you are looking to apartment hop party this is not the place for you! I think one of the best things about the building is the manager, Carl. I found him to be very attentive to our needs. He will not just give you anything you ask for but if you deal professionally you get treated VERY well here. I have had three very small maintenance issues here and they were fixed either that day or the next. I had a special request for a digital controller for me AC/Heat and Carl was quick to make the change even though it was an issue just for me as a sound man with very sensitive hearing. I highly recommend Los Feliz Club Apartment!

Pros: The neighborhood is amazing, location is good and the pool, hottub and workout area are a plus. Cons: Carl, the property manager, can be hotheaded and very tempermental. He gets really upset over little things and tends to overreact. If you notice a pattern about that observation in these reviews, it's no coincidence. Also, maintenance is horrible. Minor problems take several weeks to fix and major problems take several months. Maintenance only comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, don't ever expect to get an update on repairs. You will only hear back if you continuously call the maintenance line and demand some sort of progress report. These apartments haven't been upgraded since 1970 and you will recognize that quickly after moving in. Expect to get frustrated quickly. Definitely look around before you commit.
