I've just renewed my lease here and must say I am very pleased with everything. I love my apartment, and my view, and love the neighborhood downtown. It was nice moving into a place with brand new everything. Especially coming from Hollywood, where that is nowhere to be found in this price range. The amenities are great. We have bar none one of the best pools in all of downtown Los Angeles with an amazing unrestricted view of the skyline. We also have a gym and its looking like there are some restaurants opening up in the retail spaces on the ground floor. Let me not forget to mention that we have free secure parking, which you will definitely be hard pressed to find in downtown. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and as far as the other tenants go, I've made a lot of friends here in the building. I would highly recommend this place, especially for young creative types.

I've lived here just over a year and recently renewed my lease. Very nice apartments, great parking, good amenities, decent management. I have not experience any problems like other reviewers. The only issues I have are with art walk, which is once a month, but that's not the building's fault, just annoying party people in the streets and courtyard/retail spaces that are rented out to art walk vendors and artists and yes the parking garage is a bit of a mess after art walk, but is usually cleaned up and as I understand the parking garage is managed separately from the building. The windows block out a lot of noise so it's not a big deal. Hey if you live in DTLA you can't expect it to be quiet all the time. You also can't expect all your neighbors to be straight-laced church goers or something. DTLA is full of artists and college kids. I don't get the frat house vibe here, I actually know very few of my neighbors, but the ones I have met are great! The management isn't the very best I've encountered but they are certainly are not the worst and are polite and do help when asked. I don't bug them for much so my communication with them is minimal. I'm on the "pet friendly" side by the garage, so maybe all the horrible complainers are on the other side, but regardless the building has always been good to be. The washer and dryer in the units are great and the parking in the same building structure as the apartment is a blessing as most DTLA apartments don't' have this. I also love the rooftop pool, although they do need a new BBQ grill this year as some tenants have misused it and it's not clean and the last time I went to use it, it wasn't working :(. My only major though complaint is that they did not offer me a good deal to resign a lease. I would think they would want nice tenant like me to continue living there, as I have always paid my rent on time and am not a pain in the butt ;)

I love it here. I've been living here now for about 6 months and really like the area and the staff. They always have been really nice and friendly to me so I'm unsure what all these other comments are about. I would have signed a longer lease, but the max was 12 months. Overall, great experience and have already recommended to my co-workers and a few friends.

I would recommend The Medallion to anyone looking for a fun and exciting location downtown. It's close to many restaurants and bars, etc, as well as, great freeway access. The building itself is very new and my experience has been great. I never hear my neighbors and I thought I didn't have any for almost a year. Staff is great and is always available whenever I need something. Security is courteous and makes me feel safe at all times. Overall, The Medallion has made my transition to downtown LA a great one and I just renewed my lease for another year.

With the complete revitalization of Downtown LA, the Medallion is at the epicenter for a young, vibrant community. I moved to the Medallion over a year ago and thoroughly enjoy the artsy area and lifestyle. I have been completely happy with the apartment and have recommended it to many friends. With the businesses starting to trickle in on the bottom floor and new gym being built, I will only get happier with my experience. The Medallion staff has always been extremely helpful and are always trying to organize events around the grounds. The security staff is exceptional as well as the maintanence staff who is on call at all times. All my friends who come over are impressed with the amenitites and you can't beat the rooftop pool.

First off, the people who are writing the positive reviews have to be management trying to curb the negative reviews. Don't be fooled by the aesthetics of this place it is awful. I actually laughed when someone said it's like living in a frat house, because that's exactly what it feels like. The second floor always smells like marijuana, there's beer cans left in the stairwell and yes I have seen vomit on the premises twice go days without being cleaned up. Security? What security? They're never there! The place never gets cleaned. There were pine needles in the hallway left from when someone removed their Christmas tree. They weren't cleaned up until the end of February. The worst is the management! Only one girl is sweet, but she's only there a couple times a week. The other one (You know who I'm talking about) needs to be fired immediately. You have to tell her to do something 3 times before she actually does it. She's 30 min late every day, takes a long lunch and leaves 30 min early every day. From the looks of it you would never know this building is only a year old. The owner of this building needs to do something fast before his great management team runs his building into the ground!

I never realized that people lie on this site but I just read someone criticizing the communal laundry facility. If this person actually lived at the Medallion they would know the Medallion does not have a communal laundry facility. There are individual laundry machines in each of the units. All of the communal areas such as the gym and the pool are always kept clean and as far as my experience the security does a fine job and they have surveillance cameras throughout the property.

I've lived at The Medallion for a little over a year. I witnessed the property management company change and have seen major improvements with the grounds and the leasing office. Especially with the rooftop pool area. The girls in the office have always been nice and attentive to the residents and with maintenance requests. Martin the maintenance guy has always fixed things in my apartment in a timely manner. I read some previous reviews about the girls in the office being condescending, I have never experienced this and would recommend The medallion to all of my friends and family that are looking to move. One of the best things about this property is they do accept packages in the leasing office, and if I'm going to be running late at work I'll call the girls in the office and they will leave my package with Mr. Bailey the security guy. Also, when I moved in I was told the commercial leasing was going to be filled up pretty quickly but did not see this happen. However, in a down economy who wants to be the first retail store or restaurant to come into a new building? As of today I do see a sign for a simply salads coming soon and a gym that will be filling the commercial space on main street and have heard of other restaurants that will be coming soon, so that's exciting.

This place is horrible! The girl in the leasing office is condescending and doesn't really care to help anyone. They are never in the office during their hours of operation. Good luck getting any packages, because they are never in the office to give them to you. The apartments look great at first look, until you live there and realize they were designed by complete idiots. They told us that the approximate cost for utilities would be about $70-$90 a month for a one bedroom when our bill hasn't been under $150 a month since we moved in 6 months ago (and that is with really watching our usage). Security is nice but never there, so pretty much is useless. It pretty much feels like living in a frat house since it constantly smells like weed and you will randomly see vomit in the parking structure and on the grounds. The area isn't that great, which we knew going into the lease, but you can never sleep because of the crazy crack heads, screaming drunks and police sirens. Totally overpriced for all the crap you have to deal with.

I was told they need to do construction in my walkin closet (only closet) so completely clear that space. This was the week before Christmas. They didn't do any work for 11 days. Now we are 3 weeks in and not done. They work when they want, they've left the door unlocked, and when I complain I'm made to feel like the a-hole! Unbelievable!
