The staff at the Medallion was great! Heard there was an art show one evening and wanted to attend to check out the art scene. My experience with the staff was completely obliterated that night. At 10 when the show was supposed to end, the security guards started YELLING at the tenants of the gallery and attendees to leave and quote "shut the music off or I'll f!@#$ you up". What type of environment is that? Will not rent there. If this is a place you want to rent, think twice. I can't imagine other attendees/prospective renters, would be ok with this type of behavior. Parking area where the retail/gallery area is definitely needs some pressure washing.

Great management. Love to live in Downtown Los Angeles, and this complex is close to everything in the city, no need to drive a car to go shopping (got whole foods, Ralphs, Little Tokyo grocer store..), eating, concerts, games, museums and so on.

A collection of all the things that can go wrong in construction. The best example of new nightmare development. Quick and dirty just to start making money. The worst plumbing ever made. The list doesn't end but examples are: ants, mold, useless laundry units, broken pipelines, flooding apartment, damaged stuff, no security 90% of the times, broken elevators, clogged drains again due to the worst and cheapest plumbing ever made. It's impossible to settle in this place because there is something new every other day.

This is a horrible place to live. I am a long tenured resident and have seen this building deteriorate before my eyes. For this price, I have never seen such a poorly maintained new building. Security is a joke (not their fault, management wont pay for extra. Homeless people, loud frat kids, drug addicts can be seen on the building grounds. Walls are paper thin so when that water comes leaking in from your neighbor, you're in for it. Walking to the parking structure almost got me mugged by a homeless crack head sitting in the starwell wtf. Do not be fooled by the modern BS designs they try and sell you, everything is cheap and breaking. It's sad to see such a great location in downtown having one of the most horrible buildings sitting in its lot. I hope one day this building will be knocked down and something better will come up. Unsafe building, horrible construction quality, - Avoid at all costs.

Maintenance takes forever! In fact he lies and says he's going to come fix things and never does. Don't hold your breath! Parking is unassigned hell. People don't care/know how to par so first three levels suck, and since it's also a paid parking structure you get so many random people. It's already bad enough dealing with the lazy --- people who leave their trash everywhere, but dealing with random people who truly could care less about how they leave the structure means it often more than not has puke and trash everywhere and the stairways smell like PISS!! If a guest pays for parking and spends the night and stays past 4am they will have to pay the fee AGAIN aka BS. Many residents are animals and ruin it for other responsible pet owners by being lazy asses who don't cleanup after their pets. We are lucky enough to have grass in a little square of sorts between buildings but it smells like ---- LITERALLY and there is poo in the grass EVERYWHERE. If you like to relax in relative quiet in your home... Do not move here because odds are you will end up with a inconsiderate noisy neighbor. Unless you break your lease be prepared to suffer a year of misery. Nothing will be done about it. If you live in the back building you will be above noisy --- stores on the first floor BLASTING music at party levels as soon as they open. Security walk a around at night, but if you need to call them for anything you are ---- OUT OF LUCK. They won't pick up EVER. Often smells like a sewer when outside, all the way up to the roof. Good location and ThAT IS IT.

I know some really use these review to decide whether to even bother looking at a unit or not, I certainly have been swayed by reviews. I will say this your experience here depends on WHERE you are in the complex. When walking back from the garage to my unit, I have said to myself more than once, "I'm sure glad I don't live right there!" I personally have no real problems with neighbors, aside from one guy who had his stereo a little loud a little too often. Other than that I rarely hear my neighbors, but it's easy to hear people in the hallway because of the frosted window in every unit. The lobby and mailbox area is clean, and presentable and the security personnel are friendly and accommodating. They are on patrol a lot so they are not always there all the time. But the building is not unsafe, and I've never felt it to be so. The fitness room is just that a room. Nothing special, but better than nothing. The rooftop pool is one of it's most attractive features. It's a nice view, and great place to relax when the weather's warm. You can BBQ up there too. As for the staff, everyone has different experiences. I have had a great rapport with the staff. When I email them I get a prompt response, and my questions are usually answered to my satisfaction. The building does seem to skew a little younger than I'd prefer. some have used the words college dorm like. And as I said certain floors and areas are very frat house like. Where I am in the building was not. To live here or not? The rent is ok, not a bargain but not outrageous like many downtown. So if you don't mind a little noise from the party crowd, it's not a bad place to call home. Location is certainly hard to beat, and parking is pretty smooth. The appliances in my unit were brand new, and the in-unit washer dryer is a nice plus.

BAD IN EVERY WAY. We have security but they're not always here, and when the code to open doors was changed, we weren't told by the office at all! 1) As I'm writing this, I'm listening to the loudest drilling downstairs (I live on the 2nd floor and there are businesses downstairs). The drilling started at 8 am and it's been going on for about a week and it sounds so incredibly loud that I had to get out of not just my room, but the apartment so I could call my boss. This isn't the first time it's happened, and before they would always start at 7 am sharp. It is just absolutely RIDICULOUS, it's so loud that it sounds like the drilling is in my room and it wakes me up (and my roommates) every single time! 2) HORRIBLE. they're horrible at taking care of work orders, which means that if the washer or the lights in the bathroom, or the sink isn't working and we let them know, it takes them FOREVER to take care of the problem. IT TOOK THEM 7 MONTHS TO FIX MY WASHER!!! All it needed was a deep cleaning because the rubber is so cheap that it accumulated mold and it stunk up me and my rommate's clothes so bad that we couldn't even wear our clothes. We went in the office at least 5 times a month to remind them and pretty much beg them to get the sh** done. 3) The washer and dryer they provide suck. Each cycle of the dryer takes about 3 hours to dry a load, and that's a VERY SMALL load. They need to replace these super cheap appliances. 4) The sink in all the bathrooms are FLAT, so it doesn't flood all the water, so the water stays there and keeps all the dirt from your hands and whatever else you wash, and then it stains the sink and hardens. The only way to prevent that is by cleaning up the water every day with paper towels so the water doesn't dry. 5) NO GUEST PARKING. Parking is $5 to $7 for visitors and there's no street parking. 6) The pool is ONLY 3 FEET DEEP...why do they have a kid's pool if there are no kids here??? Seriously, oh, and there is NO JACUZZI. 7) Rent is $2100 for 2 rooms and 2 baths, and I've had places that were a whole lot cheaper, had a balcony, where I never dealt with any noise whatsoever, where there was guest parking , and where landlords took care of any problems immediately. Needless to say, we are NOT renewing our lease and we would never ever recommend this place to anyone!

I've lived here for almost a year now and I love the Medallion. It couldn't be in a better location. All the best restaurants in Downtown are steps from your front doorstep. The parking is super convenient and secure, the rooftop pool and bbq are great, and the apartments have great amenities that include a washer and dryer...amazing! The leasing staff and security have all been wonderful and responsive when I've needed them. I feel very secure here at the Medallion and will be renewing my lease when it's up.

My experience here at The Medallion has been very great, from the staff, to the security to the maintenance and the parking structure. The unit I live in, has exceeded my expectations of a place I call home. I've never had an issue with the staff let alone requirements for them to do anything other than there job. Both the girls in the office have done an exceptional job with fixtures, rooftop pool bbq's, and annoucements when something is going to occur at the development. I would suggest this development to anybody looking to live in DTLA.
