“Pros: Cash gets you in. Owner has a lot of availability. Neighbors are nice. Cons: Pest and area isn’t the best. They are working on it. Advice to landlord: Clean up your buildings”
— 467 TROUTMAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: It's a very cool loft building. Neighbors are interesting and creative. No bugs, relatively clean. They also were not aggressive in raising rents year to year. Cons: The garbage dump outside the front entrance. Horrible. The worst is the noise issue. They have a separate artist rental space in the basement, with a completely different management who is able to do whatever they want. Make noise at any hour, disturb any residents. They could care less. It got to the point where I could not sleep at all on an average night and was forced to move early. Management never acted once, and did not return my security deposit. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive and understanding to your tenants needs.”
— 467 TROUTMAN STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 2i Pros: lots of space, lots of flexibility to make upgrades and paint. great natural light, great location Cons: trash management sucks, there's been package theft Advice to landlord: get trash bins and separate recycling”
— 467 TROUTMAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location sometimes. Early morning on Sundays. Cons: Noise. Parties. Random people constantly coming into the building. Everything is broken. Management just doesn’t care. Random people have raves on the roof. Packages ripped into upon delivery. 2 dumpsters for 46 apartments. Advice to landlord: Do better. Tenants pay a stupid amount of money to live in this crap hole. Fix the doors. Have actual working cameras. Better security. A mailroom. Don’t let drug lords live in the basement. Actually interview the people who are moving in. This is the worst building I’ve ever lived in.”
— 467 TROUTMAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: it’s great if you’re young and looking to meet cool people (artists, musicians, etc). the building is a renovated warehouse with high ceilings, decent space per unit and a rooftop with dope views Cons: management can be unresponsive and there are clear building code violations happening. here’s a personal sorry: my partner and I lived in a 1st floor unit and had a major ceiling leak occur above our kitchen. a water heater above us exploded resulting in a literal waterfall in our kitchen. an electrical fire started in hallway. luckily no fire or any real damage to our personal property but let me tell you, it was a shit show. the fire department came and dealt with it. removed massive puddle of water that accumulated in the kitchen. the result of that flooding was warped hardwood floors. it took management forever to replace that hardwood and when they finally did, it looked like shit. I wouldn’t recommend this place for any long-term living. Advice to landlord: fix your shit”
— 467 TROUTMAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Roof access, with a view! Large apartment. Prime location to subway (L train) and to nightlife. Cons: BIG pest problem 🪳. Trash is constantly overflowing outside the apartment. You really do walk outside into huge massive piles of garbage. High turnover of tenants/lots of Airbnb so there are a lot of folks who have access to the space but don't care about respecting it (trash, rude neighbors). Currently managing the pest problem on my own, no initiative on the landlords part to tackle bigger projects i.e. my rotting floorboards. Advice to landlord: Please maintain the trash more efficiently. Please put out recycling bins. Please address the roach issue and crumbling apartments (even for older tenants).”
