“I’ve been living at The Arches in the Bronx and it has truly been a great experience. The building is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with thoughtful amenities that make day-to-day living more comfortable. The staff is professional, friendly, and always willing to help with any concerns, which makes a big difference. The apartments themselves are spacious, bright, and designed with a modern touch, making it feel like home right away. And not to mention Leo Gomez the super and garage attendants are all amazing, new front desk staff provides great customer service.”
— 224-228 EAST 135TH STREET · Bronx“Unit 2102S Pros: Nice gyms and amenities, decent apartment layouts, nice staff Cons: Some tenants don't pick up after their dogs, sometimes hard to track packages Advice to landlord: N/a”
— 228 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“Pros: Good amenities, clean. Cons: They built a nice building but they don't want to take care of it. The elevators get stuck often. The rooftop is closed half of the year for no reason. The "smart hole" never work. 3rd party technicians have told me that they don't cole cause the management company did not pay them for previous visits. The water is not hot enough and the pressure is meh at best. The management office staff is VERY rude! Advice to landlord: Replace the office staff to people who wants to give service.”
“Pros: Laundry in building, gym Cons: Laundry can be a mess! The light bill in this building can get very pricey.”
— 228 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“Unit 403-N Pros: The doormen are always helpful and the people living in the building are typically nice. Prior to raw sewage flooding my apartment, I really liked my apartment’s layout. Cons: I had raw sewage pour out of my kitchen sink and it flooded my entire apartment, with no response from management. I had to hire an emergency plumber on my own at 1am abd pay them $4,800 to stop the leak and vacuum the water out of my apartment. The flooding was so bad that my floors could’ve collapsed if I didn’t find help. Advice to landlord: Actually respond during emergency, especially where raw sewage and flooding are involved”
— 224 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“Pros: Cute spaces - but they’re falling down. Gorgeous rooftop but grills are off limits and it’s open for 3 weeks of the summer before they shut it again. Cons: 24/7 super doesn’t work 24/7. Or even seemingly one hour a week. Requests left unread for days and repairs take weeks. A neighbor had sewage back up her sink and all over her apartment on a Thursday - they told her it could wait for Monday and then ignored her while a flood of sewage filled her unit. Air/heat doesn’t work and building is blasting cold air in the hallways in dead of winter so you have to pay extra for your electric heat to make up for it. Breakers trip with nothing plugged into them. In unit laundry closet smells of sewer. Building is just over 3 years old (2 maybe?) and still stuff is unfinished and now everything is breaking down. Elevators (all 4) break all the time and are “repaired” by the super rather than a licensed elevator mechanic. Cockroach infestations left untreated for months. Cars get broken into every night. Dirty/smelly hallways. Moldy laundry rooms. Advice to landlord: Stop building new slums”
— 224 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“Pros: Price Modern building Amazon pickup & mail organized convenience Cons: Roaches Rats Break ins around the neighborhood Very rude neighbors parking lot floods and charges $400 for inhouse residents Managment doesn’t get back emails laundry room floods people leave clothes in washer/dryer for hours alcohol spills and weed smoke everywhere in building gym is gross & broken half the time pool room taken by people for hours refuse to share rooftop open 4-5 months Building does not love by own rules they don’t care if your neighbor is blasting music until 4 am…. Advice to landlord: Stricter application process. Enforce rules created”
— 228 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“Unit 2506-S Pros: Luxury and modern finishes throughout the building and apartment itself. Decent amenities and friendly staff. Cons: STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUILDING!!! Uses it's proximity to Manhattan as a selling point despite how dangerous the area is. Not worth the price considering the sizes of the apartments and lack of attractions in the area. You can find a much better bang for your buck in a different borough like Brooklyn or somewhere else Advice to landlord: Charge a reasonable amount for rent without the constant dynamic pricing that changes from day to day.”
— 228 EAST 135 STREET · Bronx“STAY AWAY! Do not trust them with your bank info and personal documents. The place is a fully blown scam and Landlord is discriminatory. First, they reel you in with listings for units that ARE NEVER really available. What you'll get may be the same layout if you're lucky, but never the same unit you saw. Rooms are super small and amenities are free for the first year then go to $250+ PER MONTH, that's why everyone moves out after the first year. Second, the worst part is the discriminatory behavior of the landlord. He gave me a lot of trouble and tried to find every reason to deny my applications, which I can obviously tell was due to me being a minority woman. I provided everything including paystubs, rental statements, tax forms etc. First, I was denied because my roommate's credit score (given, that made sense at THAT time (both applicants have to meet the requirements according to this landlord, not just one... hmm..) However, since my own income and credit score alone was more than enough to be approved, I came back a few months later to reapply on my own WITHOUT the roommate. Being that my application was so recent I was told I didn't have to do a new one, and that I was "all set." The previous tenant was supposed to move out 10/30 and when 10/30 comes around, management went completely ghost. I decided to come back a THIRD time, again, a couple months later. When looking through one of my bank accounts the landlord made made a misogynistic undertone comment and false accusation that I "potentially paid a "$1050" rent to an "Elijah guy" but otherwise didn't have my own rent payment history.. totally false as you can see in the photos he was reading the bank statement incorrectly. And the rent payments were coming from a different bank account. Of course when he looked at the other bank statements, he later comes with a "late rent payment" excuse of denial, using the date that the rent transaction is posted on my bank account and NOT the actual on-time payments receipt provided to him on the rental statements from my management. It is common knowledge that payments are due on the FIRST of every month. From there, payments can take 3-5 business days to be reflected on your bank statement. I do not have control over when the payment is debited. He is clearly using discriminatory practices to run this business and clearly isn't attentive enough to process applications. Do not trust them with handling your personal documents. The Hotel in the building, Global Luxury Suites, has only 2 stars for a reason. Trust the reviews and stay FAR away.”
— 224-228 EAST 135TH STREET · Bronx“Pros: I love all of the amenities and all of the staff are wonderful. Cons: Trash and outside of the building could be managed better. There’s a lot of new construction near the building but it doesn’t get to loud. Advice to landlord: None, no issues so far with living here.”
