“Pros: How it looked in the rearview mirror when I moved out Cons: How long do you have? Couldn't count on having heat in the middle of winter or hot water (or water at all, for that matter). Roaches galore, mice, seedy residents who stole dozens of packages and managers who did nothing about it, front doors that would stop working on the app, zero accountability taken from the management team whenever something went wrong, impossible to get in contact with anyone. I was constantly astounded by how bad everyone was at their job. It was like they were all in competition to be the worst. Advice to landlord: Find another line of work. One where no one has to rely on you for non-hazardous, lawful living conditions.”
— 102 EAST 103 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: There are none. I don’t have any good things to say about this building or its staff. Cons: The building does not respond to requests. On the off chance you can get a hold of them, they condescend and accuse you of lying. The water goes off multiple times a week. Rarely is there hot water. The heat will often go out on the coldest days. Terrible place to live. Advice to landlord: Stop being slumlords”
— 102 EAST 103 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 16 Pros: cheap rent stabilized unit with washer/dryer and dishwasher in unit property manager has been generally responsive with things that need to be repaired and questions Cons: heat is always WAY TOO HIGH (85-90 in the winter) often no hot water noise from metro north hallways and garbage alley are very dirty and there are roaches everywhere homeless people always sitting on the stoop and playing loud music stealing packages management changes often and is really disorganized Advice to landlord: fix the heating system, clean”
“Pros: Great super, good apartment amenities Cons: Stealing packages, poor heat, slow water (often only cold water)”
— 102 EAST 103 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Laundry, Location, Quiet Cons: Size, cleanliness, bedbugs, ventillation”
— 102 EAST 103 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 12 Pros: Very short walk to the subway. Large bedrooms. Nice kitchen. Reasonable rent. Cons: Garbage piled up outside. Often no hot water with little response from owner to fix. Super/management take some shortcuts. Right next to metro north above ground--VERY loud. Don't move here if you're a light sleeper. Advice to landlord: Listen to tenant issues”
— 102 EAST 103 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: For a starter apartment with roommates it wasn’t completely terrible. Neighbours tend to keep to themselves were cordial. Cons: Clearly gentrified building with older tenants and newly (poorly) renovated apartments aimed at young college students/grads. Got my place thru Rezi and the gut renovations were poorly done. Things were constantly breaking and would receive no response for repair. Hot water went off multiple times for days at a time. Right by the Metro North so be cognisant of noise pollution. Multiple people who did not live in the building would manage to get inside and wander the staircase. Had a mouse problem for a majority of the 1yr lease. Landlord found a huge hole behind stove and no one ever fixed. Advice to landlord: Respond to tenant issues and CLEAN.”
