Pros: -I Airbnbed the basement of this house (? - I’ll explain in the cons) so the rents were cheaper than ever (I think it was $45/night) especially since I was only living there for a few weeks Cons: -Airbnbing can be highly sketchy. I doubt this “house” was legal for living. It hosted a medical office and several other tenants. The basement I was in was seriously the basement for junk. There were random items everywhere like a broken desk, a sewing machine?, and lots of other things I didn’t want to touch. It was infested with bugs, and I woke up to spiders next to me -I couldn’t lock the door to the basement because other tenants needed to do laundry in the basement on weekends. I had no problem with it just because I never owned much in the first place -The cleaning lady could just unlock the door and come in at any time. I’ve had it happened twice when I lived there -The buses heading to the stop Q36, 43, 76 and 77 were JAMMMMMMMED pack to an insane extent. At the stop in front of the house, SO many people got off that the bus driver never know when it’s done. Quite a few times, he just closed the back door and tried to start the bus Advice to landlord: I suspect the place wasn’t allowed to be legally rented and that happens far too often on Airbnb. Please be considerate of people who genuinely want a fine stay that they’re paying for. Stop trying to make fast cash by illegally renting out places that aren’t even suited for living.
