I rented in Continental apartments in NYC a brand new apartment for 4 years. When I was moving out at the end of my lease and left the apartment nice and clean and they anyway stole from my security deposit. They charged me almost $900 for a small damage in the cheap bathroom cabinet which was as a result of moisture - It was so small that I could just glue it and no one would notice, entire cabinet will not cost more than $200. They are thieves. They will steal your deposit. Maintenance is terrible. When something is broken, they don't fix it. The building is managed by Middlesex management, which is the worst and they are not professionals, so greedy. Worst of worst and I would not recommend or stay with them in future. Meanwhile, I was a perfect tenant, every month I pay my rent on time and very quiet .

I have lived here since the beginning and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is absolutely amazing, especially the afternoon guys. Sadly my time has come and if I could take the guys with me I would, especially my 2 favorite. I am very disappointed with the new management. They are driving a lot of the decent people out. The new super is very arrogant and ignorant at the same time. He is belligerent to his staff in front of us. The building is wonderful, the neighbors used to be great. If you want things done the head concierge is the way to go. he goes out of his way for you and is always professional and polite.I hope these guys find a better management company and get the Continental back to where it was, the change is not a welcome one. You have a 5 star building with an A staff. Either promote from with in or find someone competent and not as socially awkward. The neighborhood has also deteriorated although it is a commuters dream.

My husband and I have lived in The Continental for three years, and we love it. It's basically like living in a hotel. The staff are wonderful, they go out of their way to help us, and if there is ever a problem of any kind, someone is up to fix it immediately. The neighborhood is not the best -- very safe, but not really a neighborhood, no grocery stores or restaurants, really -- but the building is amazing. The apartments here are expensive, but definitely worth it if you're looking for a full-service luxury building.
