Pros: Doorman was nice, small gym. Cozy apartment. Cons: the building is half-Airbnb and half-residential, could be good or bad depending on your purposes. Advice to landlord: n/a

Pros: 230 W 55th has the most welcoming doormen in the city. We loved living here and felt taken care of Cons: Had some bug issues. Nothing major but it was bothersome in the kitchen

Unit 12A Pros: The location is convenient. Midtown may be touristy but you get everywhere really quickly. Most staff are nice and really helpful. The building is dated but upkeep is good for the most part. Super responded quickly to issues being reported. Large laundry room with plenty of machines. Cons: Incredibly complicated management, e.g. finding moving in and out dates was really difficult, and there was a lot of back and forth on furniture deliveries. Building does not allow food deliveries to the apartment (drop off in the lobby only). In two years, three of my packages went missing and nothing could be done. There are roaches. No matter how often the exterminator treats, they come back. Heat is not controlled in each unit and temperatures reached about 85 degrees in the apartment throughout winter. Laundry is expensive ($3.50 and up per cycle). The “gym” has old and very basic equipment, some of which has been out of order since 2022. Some of the staff make borderline creepy comments (“I miss seeing you in the gym”). Advice to landlord: Invest in maintaining the communal spaces, sensitivity training for staff, and let the food deliveries come upstairs. You are not a luxury building by nyc standards so stop charging like one.

Pros: Only liked the location (near central park) Cons: Everything else. Terrible management. Hostile doormen. The super is obnoxious, rude, and not helpful whatsoever. You think you can live here and not come in contact with the super/early doorman (Omar), trust me you cant. They make your time here terrible. Advice to landlord: Hire new staff

Pros: Super convenient location, overall good management, and gym is finally open Cons: Have a smoking neighbor on my floor and the hallway always has a cigarette smell, strict move in requirements, outdoor area hasn’t been open for a year, construction noise sometimes gets unbearable, be aware of the traffic and neighborhood noise because of its location
