Great apartment, live in super, bad management company

Pros: the location was good, gym in building, very clean Cons: management very bad at communication, they are removing all windows on lot facing units

Overall good building

Unit 11B Pros: Apartment was nice and came in good condition - we never had trouble with deliveries/moving. Neighbors were quiet, doormen very nice. Cons: Elevators broke down sometimes, there was a package thief because the doorman wasn't 24h.

Quality, no-frills living

Pros: Super is helpful, good deal for the size Cons: Doorman is not 24/7

Management is horrible

Pros: Tall ceilings and great location, no pest issues, pets allowed Cons: Management is horrible, neglectful and not responsive at all. They will not fix anything. The building is essentially a frat house with insane parties on the top floors. High turnover of building staff. The doorman is not full time, but he is nice and helpful. Water damage, leaks, and mold in the walls. Shoddy renovation, looks nice but the construction is bad and just about everything that could, broke in the apartment. Advice to landlord: Stop spending money on furniture for the tiny rooftop and repair the damage tenants are complaining about

nice apartment building but heat was an issue

Unit 5a Pros: Really well maintained apt with amazing super and amenities Cons: Rent was raised from 4k to 5.3k which has caused us to leave. Additionally, the heat in the winter is not good. We had to wear hoodies and winter wear everyday inside the apartment. Advice to landlord: Fix the heating issues asap

Management is greedy

Pros: People who work at the building Cons: Owners/management the Torkian group is just so greedy, it’s become a frat house, constant construction Advice to landlord: Show loyalty to your tenants

Water consistently turned off randomly with no heads up. I’ve literally see a person come in and tell the building manager that they told the building property mgmt company but no communication to the tenants or building manager. Elevator is super sketch. Chants of Anti white and Jewish ppl at night and it’s just not a safe place. Run!!

Lived here 2012-2019

Pros: Was a great space, area was super quiet at the time. Cons: New owners flooded our apartment doing renovations, turned off our water accidentally. Workers were renovating and did not follow noise ordinances. Hallways were trashed, roof was trashed, laundry got stolen. Never painted when we moved in. We were told we had to move out for renovations Advice to landlord: Do t get caught by the city of New York for illegally using your apartments as air bnbs and blaming the tenants.
