Pros: Close to park, a lot of space and light, allows pets Cons: The entire building is filthy all of the time, and is infested with pests of every kind- BEDBUGS, roaches, water bugs, mites, rats, you name it. The elevator is broken more often than not and the stairs are usually dirty and/or wet and crowded with people. Packages are not kept in any type of safe place and are often stolen. When we moved in, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned/repaired and we also found that we had an open pipe under our bathroom sink preventing our tub from draining properly. The super is just incredibly unreliable and generally incompetent. The absolute biggest con of this place though is that the building itself is actually crumbling from the inside and nothing is being done about it. Old pipes/leaks are causing serious damage that are making it actually dangerous. The apartment below us has an entire part of their ceiling that has fallen down, leaving just our floorboards separating the two apartments. We’ve now noticed new water stains on one of our walls and the previous extensive cracks in the ceilings and walls that had apparently been covered with a bit of plaster have also cracked back open and are growing all the time. Calling management has proven futile in the past, as the woman we spoke to was wildly rude and unhelpful, and when we tried looking up the management company online it says that they’re permanently closed. Advice to landlord: Get a new receptionist, get a new super, get a serious inspection done of this building and care that human beings live here.
