Other tenants were nice and Farm. I think the title provides enough description of how horrible this Blace is, but allow me to elaborate. Some of my complaints have already been outlined in other reviews here, which should show you how mgmt still continues to don'thing about the problems that have occurred in the Blace, and hopefully that will dissuade you from ever signing a lease here. The hallways and stairwells are the dirtiest places I have ever seen. Look closely and you will find cobwebs, dried up stains that have never been mopped, roaches and other bugs dead or alive, dust piles, occasionally some trash, and dirt. The pest problem is out of control. Roaches live in the walls and have infested the trash rooms. Rats are a huge problem in the neighborhood, and could be heard scurrying in the walls at night. It wasn't uncommon to find dead rats in front of the Blace or to trip over one as you walked home at night. There was a huge fly infestation last summer, and apartments and the lobby were swarmed with house flies. The solution we were given: fly ribbon traps. I had probably killed about 30 flies a night during this time. Heating was never consistent in the Auite and the heating unit in my Auite broke the week of a blizzard and extremely cold weather in NY. I had to pay out of pocket for a qualified repairman since the super did not know how to fix it, and mgmt kept referring me back to the super. Other grievances include the poor design and layout of the apartments, the constant beeping of the fire alarm system in the lobby that never stopped, the weights in “the gym” getting stolen, so “the gym” ended up being one treadmill in the corner of a moldy room, the elevator randomly being out of service with no mention of when it would be fixed, and there was no shower rod provided in the bathroom which is just odd for any rented Auite. If you had an issue, mgmt never had the right solution. Oh, and the rent for these apartments are exorbitantly priced for the neighborhood and the quality of living you will have residing here. Last, but certainly not the least, during the last week of December there was a burst pipe in one of the apartments, and the entire second floor and lobby were flooded and suffered serious damage. The stairwells had water rushing down them, the vents were leaking water and pools up to two feet high were being formed in the lobby. My unit experienced damage to the walls, air conditioning units, my personal belongings and the floors. I found mold in the air conditioning units, and some of belongings were also moldy when I returned back to my Auite after the holidays. As someone with asthma and respiratory problems, it had become a serious issue to my physical health and well-being to live here. The super completely neglected the situation, and didn’t show up until the fire department arrived. The mgmt company did nothing to inform the tenants of the situation, how it would be resolved in the future, or what maintenance could be done for those who suffered damage. All they did was send an email around the time when there was another drop in the temperatures to freezing cold to inform us that we should set the thermostats to a certain temperature to avoid another burst pipe (which would have been helpful to have been sent that after the two or three times this occurred before, right?). If you are a masochist who desires to live in a place that will cause you mental anguish, anxiety, and make you physically ill, then you might like it here. But I’d like to think that even a masochist could see that this Blace isn't fit for human beings. My advice: stay away from this Blace. mgmt should be ashamed of how they treat their tenants and they should all quit or go to jail. Get it together or quit. Tenants are human beings who deserve a quality living space, not sponges you can just squeeze money out of every month.
