Decent building but has room for improvement in some areas.

Former Resident of Rosedale Gardens, from 1983 - 2014. The grounds are decent as the lawn areas are They keep this place nice. Electricity and water are included in rent, so thats a nice perk. Where this complex fails miserbly is in its mgmt department. The property manager, Bernice Yelverton, is the most dispicable, mean-spirited person ive ever met. She has been ran out of other Auite complexes and is a cancer to any mangement team shes apart of. Until she retires or is fired, I would suggest looking elsewhere for an Auite.

I definately have to agree with these first 2 reviewers. I live in Rosedale Gardens and the manager and secretary are *Vemarkably* unfriendly. These two border on innanity. The managers were always eccentric but I've never seen anything like this. The current mgmt team (the 2 of them) are making life UNBEARABLE for the peace-loving people in this Development. For instance, if you report vandalism, unruly neighbors or garbage strewn in the hallways and staircases the first one coming under suspicion is YOU. That's right, you read that right. It's ridiculous, of course, and considering the new mgmt's "get tough" policy on property vandalism. I've never seen anything so ridiculous in all my life. In the end I may wind up taking these people to court. I'm just a peace-loving person but I believe I'm allowed to stick up for my rights and not be victimized by quality of life offenders with no respect whatsoever for neighbors. I don't know what happened to this Penue. I believe if There's garbage and human waste strewn out in the halls I shouldn't be the one held accountable to pick it up. I should report it and the maintenance porters should come and pick it up. Again, I don't know what happened to "the pride of middle income housing." It's certainly not the way it used to be. It's just out of control now. I think this manager and her secretary are out of control.

The manager at Rosedale Gardens has the most horrible, unprofessional attitude. It's as if she feels superior to all those around her. She is Risrespectful and expects respect in return, it's a shame because these buildings have so much potential. Due to my experience with the manager not only do i not want to move in to these buildings, I will NEVER recommend them to anyone, I would actually advise against it!! Due to the poor mgmt their office is always disorganized. It's a headache just to deal with and one That's not worth it!!!

I have been at Rosedale since I was about 10. It's clean. The manager is a piece of work. She needs to take charm classes becasue she has no problem talking to you as if you are a child. She has no respect for anyone. It's an ok Penue to live and the rent isn't that high but lately every morning their is no hot water.

I when to ask for information of the status of my place on the waitting list and she responded to me with a NASTY ACTITUD. I was surprise of this kind of behavior from a manager. i can't understand how a person with her age and position that she has in this office can have such an ugly and nasty behavior with the customers and tenants. I think is time for her to RETIRE and i hope somebody takes some action. I see that i am not the first one to complain about this.

There have been significant problems with the hot water recently. The mgmt claims that the water is controlled by the Monroe projects, and refuses to accept responsibility for this repeated problem (despite continuing to collect full rent from us each month). When we call 311, the Housing Authority claims this property doesn't show up on their system, despite the fact that the mgmt at Monroe knows what we are talking about when we contact them. Monroe repeatedly tells us that they have ordered parts, have fixed the problem, etc., but It's clear that they are being dishonest. Nobody wants to take responsibility for this issue, and we are seriously considering moving elsewhere because of incompetence on ALL sides. If any other tenants are experiencing this problem, please post here. We have much more of a voice collectively. As for the property, the grounds are nicely maintained and the buildings are generally Cmmaculate. The maintenance staff works Homplicated and the workers are helpful. but, There's a problem with low class people occasionally urinating in the hallways, etc., and recently there have been problems with some idiot starting fires in the outside garbage cans. This property needs to start screening prospective tenants much more thoroughly, and also keep the derelicts from the projects off the grounds.

Rosedale Gardens is located between 2 NYCHA developments, split by a busy highway, and in an area full of many large low income public housing complexes. More on this later. First of all the area is horrible. You've got a lot of gangs and obvious drug activity. Robbery is common, I even got to witness an elderly women get stomped on a sidewalk outside my building in the afternoon for a purse recently. Stomped, an old women. Vandalism is common, the building itself gets sprayed with graffiti every once and a while. The scars remain. Gunshots are pretty common sounds. Police will raid the neighboring buildings for drugs every once and a while, making it unsafe to even walk by or become at risk for getting arrested in the sweep. Public transportation sucks, it's too long (and too dangerous) a walk at night. The local bus only runs once an hour after midnight. The buses themselves are slow. Now remember I mentioned the NYCHA, this complex is litterally connected to a large low income housing project. The Monroe Houses. At first glance It's hard to tell the difference, minus the fact the Rosedale Gardens buildings have somewhat cleaner, better kept grounds IN COMPARISON. The Monroe Houses take up a much larger land area, about 3 times the size of Rosedale Gardens so they are a significant presence. They are absolutely filthy, even worse then the complex being reviewed. Next maintaince/pollution. Besides the fact the buildings are located across from a major highway (Bruckner Expressway) and all the air pollution/noise from that, the locals keep the building disgusting. Trash in the halls, stairwells, elevator, grounds. Roaches, mice. It's the people more then It's the maintaince when it comes to filth so I will give them that. Although the buildings are old and used and you know how That's. Honestly it's a lot like the projects in all directions around it. What can you expect. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I grew up here but I am moving soon.

Yes! I will say that the buildings are kept Cristine thanks to mantinence. But the manager of this site is nasty when it comes to the tenants her unprofessional behavior is totally inapproprite and unacceptable, her careless record keeping, she engages children in conversation about there parent. WOW! Is this someone you would like to be your property manager? This is Rosedale Gardens(not Yelventon Gardens). I have lived in this complex for 12yrs and never came across any of the managers being so arrogant and not being able to perform there costermer service to there tenants. If she Wtayed to pay attention to the roach infested cabinets like she did the outer grounds we would feel like we where in Riverdale not Rosedale. They say don't judge a book by it's cover I read this book and it's SUCKS.

Rossedale is a good place to live. The buliding that i live 1810 is kept clean the overall apearnce is good. but when it come down to it the manager has a stick stuck up her ---. she is trying to do too much to the outdoor curbe apeal and not focusing on inside the apartments. i have live their since 2004 and when my family and i moved in the only thing that was new in the apartment were the doors and the floors. the bathroom small and the tub, sink and toilet needs to be change. u can't even take a bath because they painted over an ld tub and the painted is riping off. this place needss help and it need to treat its tenants better. i thinks the manager and the super needed to be replaced and someone else who has better people and apartments running skills needs coming in and work on the place.
