TOWNE LAKE APARTMENTS I LP · avg 2.4 ★★★★★ · Houston
“I have lived her 20+ years. Been through many sets of management, maintenance employees, tropical floods, fires etc. The current management and maintenance team are truly the best yet. Issues are taken care of promptly and management is outstanding! I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a nice place to live.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“There are serious issues here at Towne Lake Apartments they don't want you to know about. The management people are nice to you until you move in. Beers cans and clothes all over the grounds often. Dozens of unsupervised children roaming everywhere at all times of the day and night. Animal killer who throws the bodies in the lake. Old women walking around scaring people with a gun. Another woman so high she danced naked in public and then attempted to drown her kids in the lake. Break ins, robberies, no security, nobody is safe. Drug infested with stash houses that get invaded and murdered. Yes, the link below was Towne Lake Apartments. You can look up the police reports to verify this information. Should you be desperate enough to move in. Good luck https://”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“Been living here for about a year and a half. Its been wonderful, no complaints up until this past week. Miss Desiree in the office was very rude regarding a parking spot issue that ended up being their fault and she was very reluctant to assist me in fixing this issue or explaining why they were charging me for 2 spaces yet saying I was only paying for 1 spot. The way she handled the call was very unprofessional and disheartening considering I thought they were better. Not to mention the constant break ins, the murder that made the news or the crazy lady who tried to drown her kids. Stay here at your own risk.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I wanted to take some time to write my TRUTHFUL and unbiased review over my two months living here. I guess the term, "you pay for what you get" is most appropriate for these apartments. At first glance and during the whole sign up process, the apartments seemed great. The unit we would be staying in would be a 1 bedroom, 1 bath lake view unit. The leasing process went by smooth and within a matter of minutes we were approved for our new little "home", but that's about everything that went by smooth. Within a few days, our "newly renovated" apartment home's AC stopped working. It took us about 5 different times to get someone to come fix it. Shortly after our Heater went out and we started having issues with our shower and toilet... Still waiting on word from the office on when those will get fixed mind you it has been 2 months.... Aside from our maintenance issues, it took 3 weeks for us to receive an assigned parking spot that I WAS MORE THAN WILLING to pay for! I ended up reaching out to their corporate office to finally get an assigned parking spot. Even being inside the gates, safety is still a concern. I have found various beer cans and syringes with needles near my car and my apartment unit. A handful of my neighbors have shared with me that in order for them to feel safe they must carry their pistol. I pay way to much money for my time here to be less than pleasant. Yes, having a pond in the back is nice, but it seems as if all the other management and property issues overshadow that particular amenity. Speaking about amenities... Don't visit the gym, just purchase a gym membership. There are about 4 cardio machines in there, and only 2 seem to work decently. Haven't gone to the pool yet, I figured by the way the rest of the property was kept up with, the pool might not be the cleanest. WE NEED A NEW PROPERTY MANAGER ASAP!!!! Please take my advice and do not sign a lease here. I will be in contact with my attorney, as dealing with this place is way to stressful. Just wanted to find a decent place to call home. Renter Beware!”

— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“PLEASE SAVE YOUR SANITY, SAFETY AND MONEY. STAY FAR AWAY.. THERE HAS BEEN A SHOOTING AND KIDS ASSAULTING AN ELDER LADY YET MANAGEMENT REFUSES TO INFORM RESIDENTS. SINCE I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT SEVERAL THINGS I AM NOW BEING RETALIATED ON AND JUST IGNORED. IT IS NASTY AND THEY MAKE YOU PAY VALLET TRASH PICK UP TO WAKE UP DAILY TO DUMPSTER OVERFLOW AND JUST GROSS. I have mold they've been ignoring, safety issues they ignore and the list goes on and on. I was threatened for a previous review yet they respond to everyone else. Seems kind of fishy and I am being singled out and it's called landlord retaliation. I pay more than my neighbors who's upgrades have been completed etc. unsafe Discrimination I have been threatened by a resident more than once, and I've reported it with pictures and video. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE EXCEPT MY CAR HAS NOW MORE DAMAGE.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“All around nightmare and a bunch of fake liars in the office. High crime dirty nasty smelly and everything BAD. TRUST ME YOU CAN GET A MUCH BETTER PLACE AND HONEST MANAGEMENT YOUR CAR WILL GET HIT SCRATCHED AND MORE AND EVEN TAKE PICTURES FOR PROOF BUT THEY DO NOT CARE. ALSO IF YOU COMPLAIN THEY MAKE EXTRA SURE TO IGNORE YOUR REQUESTS AND HARASS YOU.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I have lived here almost three years andI love it! I believe this complex is one of the best values in the area. It's clean, safe and the apartments are nice. It's a diverse community, mostly single working folks and families. Some children live here and play around the lake and grounds, but no activity at all at night. We have new management that have already begun making positive changes and upgrades. If your'e looking for an apt, you should seriously consider living here.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“We have rented here for 4 1/2 years. The apts have been recently remodeled completely on the outside & some on the inside including ours. Anytime there is a small problem & we notify the management it is taken care of promptly & we are notified when finished. The 3 onsite very professional staff is very knowledgeable about the property & keeps us informed of happenings at the complex. The maintenance dept tries very hard to keep the property clean as well as the lake area landscaping but some residents do not like to help in keeping it that way. We are very satisfied with the apt & the personnel trying their best to make this a great place to call home!”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“also these aparments have no parking spaces after 8:30 pm, the customer services is sucks, run out of water service at least for 2 hours per day, please never move to this place”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“In my two years of living here I can literally tell you this place stinks! The dumpster is overflowing constantly, no one picks up their dog droppings, and the lake in the summertime...YUCK! NO PARKING AFTER 8 PM and damage to cars is a regular occurrence! Hot water heater constantly goes out, and you WILL have to go to work without showering. Fighting couples, loud and abusive, MONTHS of noisy construction... No peace to be found, not even on Sundays. So here's what happens when you give notice to move, after your apartment being flooded twice and both of your cars being flooded out. Even though the lease expires, one must give 60 days notice of moving. How exactly does this work? I must pay you for an apartment which has no lease continuation. Overpriced and you could get newer apartment in this area, for the same price.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I would not recommend it...it is quickly becoming a --------seems more and more unsafe, despite the occasional luxury cars you see around. Mgmt. has changed many times... not responsible and not courteous...any problems they dismiss and do not resolve to one's satisfaction.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I'm not sure why these other people have had such a bad experience here because I love it! Yes the parking is not the greatest at times but seriously have you never lived in an apartment complex? It could be much worse. I love the staff and maintenance is always courteous and prompt. I flooded my apartment on accident (completely my fault) and maintenance was even nice at 3:30 in the morning! And can you really beat that sunrise view from my back balcony?”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“This is not a good place to live at! My car was vandalized many times and nothing was ever done and they show absolutely NO concern. Office staff sees it as a job not interested in the fact that they are dealing with residents that have to live there after they go home. They are rude and immature. The parking is horrible every car leaves with a ding. They hired a great photographer the pool and gym are miniature! Cabinets are eroding because they are not real wood. Balconies and stairs shake when you walk on them. Not because you're heavy but bc they never fix things it's a patch up. While I was living there they said railings and stare were being fixed.... All they did was paint them. The one star is bc u have to give a rating some of those don't deserve even 1 star.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“Do not move here!!!!!I filled out the application paid $45 application fee, $50 administration fee and $150 refundable security deposit but I chose not to move in into those old looking apartments, I went to the manager and told her that I do not think I am going to live here, Can I get my security deposit back. She refused to give me the deposit back and asked me to leave her office otherwise she will call the LAW. So dear brothers and sisters do not move in to these apartments they will rob you of Your money”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“PARKING PARKING PARKING PARKING!!!! It's awful! I think there is literally one space to every apartment. You have to get home before four to find an open space. Also the spaces are super tight! If you don't find a space you'll be parking on the street! Go pass by the place at night and see how many cars are parked on the side of all the apts in the area. Thankfully though when I lived there I never felt unsafe. Never had any problems with living here besides the parking.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“Negative. My number one problem that I cannot get over and is causing me to leave this apartment complex is the staff will just walk into your home. This has happened to my fiancée and myself 5 times! with no notice our home was entered by staff. On one occasion an elderly staff member tried to enter my home while I was home and my door was locked. I ended up thinking someone was trying to rob me and ran out in the hallway in my underwear. I found her stopped and hiding on the stairwell above me. She had meant to go to the apartment above mine and assist with cleaning it out. The maintenance staff is backed up and unskilled at solving basic problems. In the year I have been here I have never once seen a security guard in the gate house or roaming the property at night. Large roaches roam both in and around the building. We keep our apartment clean and still have found multiple 5 inch long!!!! roaches. The rent jumps up and down on a monthly basis. The administrative staff is rather poor at assisting. Recently I have had to call 6 times to get my dishwasher fixed only to be told it will be done the next day to no avail. Positives: Nice job on the grounds/landscaping. The pool and gym are well kept. nice new jogging trail by the lake just put in. I like the frozen yogurt across the street. Were leaving when our lease is up.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS. ROACH INFESTED NASTY --- SO CALLED LUXURY APARTMENTS. OVER PRICED. THE RENT IS NEVER THE SAME EVERY MONTH. THEY CHARGE YOU FOR ALL KINDS OF --------. IF YOUR NOT HOME BY 9 YOU WONT FIND PARKING. THE NEIGHBOR HOOD IS NOT VERY SAFE,SO DONT WALK YOUR DOG AT NIGHT. THE WALLS ARE THIN SO YOU CAN HEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE KIDS RUNNING AROUND. THE SO CALLED PEST CONTROL GUY THAT COMES EVERY MONTH WHATEVER HE IS SPRAYING IS NOT WORKING SO ITS PROBABLY WATER ECT...I COULD WRITE A BOOK ON HOW TERRIBLE THESE APARTMENTS ARE. MY FIRST DAY MOVING IN ROACHES WERE CRAWLING OUT OF EVERY CORNER.SO HAPPY I NO LONGER LIVE HERE SO PLEASE READ REVIEWS WHEN MOVING TO APARTMENTS. I WILL FROM NOW ON, LESSON LEARN.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“We really love this place, the view of the lake is breath-taking, people and place is quiet and clean and there is a roaming security guard at night. The maintenance staff responds promptly and the office staff especially Ms. Letty and Ms. Margarita are very pleasing and courteous to talk with. They respond promptly to repairs and take note of all requests.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“These apartments are unaceptable! i am so discusted of how money hungry these people are...we stayed here for a year from may 2012 to may 2013. When we where getting ready to move due to the apartment being so old and full of roaches and it wasent because we where dirty either...when i spoke to the other people that lived next to me and above me they said they had the same problem....our rent was 715.00 somehow ended up being 830.00 every month...the lake view is not worth it...the water is so dirty and the mosquitos are horrible...Everything in the apartment looked real old...the tub started pealing the 2nd month we where there not to mention the AC that kept getting disconnected from the outside somehow...when i went to give my 30 day notice they said now i will have to pay 600.00 because i was supposed to give them a 60 day notice not a 30 day notice...they threatend it will afect our rental history if we do not pay..so we paid...we also payd 280.00 for a extra week we stayed there...i just received a bill of 467.46 from a collection agency that they sent us to...i am so angry because we left the whole apartment clean and we paid those 600.00 just so they can still screw us over somhow ...”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I am a current resident of the towne lake apartments and want to share my FRUSTRATIONS with the future residents. Please see the list of concerns and issues that I have experienced in the last 12 months: 1- Pest control does not work, there are spider all over during summer, roaches 24/7. 2- Parking Spots are TOOOOOOO NARROW...YOUR CAR WILL NOT FIT RIGHT. 3- NOT ENOUHG PARKING SPACES. 4- 3 TO 4 TALL DEAD TREES NEXT DOOR ABOUT TO FALL DOWN. 5- A GIANT TREE FELL OVER MY VEHICLE AND DESTROYED IT. 6- MY FAMILY WAS ALMOST KILLED BY THE TREE AT THE VERY MOMENT OF TREE FALLING DOWN. MY 4 YEARS OLD CHILD WAS IN TRAUMA FOR A WEEK. 7- TOWNE LAKE APARTMENTS MANAGEMENT DOES NOT WANT TO PAY OR HELP FOR CAR DAMAGES. INSTED SHE SAID I SHOULD HAVE FULL COVERAGE CAR INSURANCE. 8- I AM PAYING FOR 2 COVERED CAR SPACES, WHEN I GET HOME LATE, ANOTHER VEHICLE IN USING MY PAID RESERVED SPACE. 9- I DO NOT RECOMMED FOR ANYONE TO CHOOSE TOWNE LAKE APARTMENT TO LIVE THERE.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“This apartment was okay when my family first moved in. It wasn't like the very expensive high end ones but it was a lot better than the surrounding apartments and for the price it was a little above average. Helpfulness depends on who that staff is that is working that day. One of them is super nice and helpful and the other is a little rude at times but can be helpful. The manager has been nice the whole time and very helpful with certain issues. They do seem to keep all the trash and debri off the ground and I see people regularly keeping up with landscape etc. HOWEVER when we moved in there were some roaches which after 9 bug bombs after they "sent out a professional" seemed to clear up that issue. Paint is literally chipping off the walls and they are cracking which is an issue for people with young children. Maintenance is slow. It takes them weeks sometimes to even come check something out or they come and try to coax you that you're stupid and there is no problem. Parking is a total nightmare. The spots are too close and there are not enough spaces for everyone to park their car. My car has been hit numerous times and incurred many dings and scratches from this. To make parking even worse they switched towing companies which feels the need to sticker every single car and threaten to tow them. NOT JOKING. I've only seen 6 cars out of the whole complex without a warning issue and they give you one day to fix the problem. Most issues take several. I was going to renew my lease but after this I will not. I pay rent every month and I should be able to park my car without it being towed. I would recommend this place if you a) have no problem with spending hundreds of dollars in rent to have your car towed anyway b)have no problem waiting for ever to have an issue fixed and c) don't mind your car looking like crap within a couple of months due to all of the damage you will receive.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“OMGGGGGG I WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER SUGGEST THIS PLACE TO ANYONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... THE WORST PLACE EVER. THEY SAY THEY HAVE 24 HOUR MAINTENANCE THEY DONTTTTTTTTTTTT. YOU CALL THE MAINTENANCE GUY AND HE TELLS YOU THEY DONT COME OUT AT NIGHT AND FIX THE A/C. I HAVE A TODDLER AND IT IS LITERALLY HOTTTTTT. THE STAFF IS ALL NICE AND FRIENDLY AT FIRST WHEN YOU'RE INITIALLY HERE LOOKING FOR THE APARTMENT AND ONCE YOU SIGN THAT LEASE OMGGG WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?!?!?! YESSS THEY NEVER CALL BACK IF YOU LEAVE THEM A MESSAGE.. I CANT WAIT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE. I WILL CALL THE OFFICE TOMORROW AND LET THEM KNOW THAT IM GONNA MOVE OUT EARLY BECAUSE I AM NOT WILLING TO SPEND A WHOLE NIGHT WITH MY TODDLER SON WITHOUT A/C. I PAY RENT EACH MONTH ON TIME AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“Unsafe. I currently live here and live in constant fear of being assaulted. I've had an older man with a black eye stare me down because of my purse and car. Parking is horrible. It's like these people park blind folded. Management sent out a letter saying they will tow the bad parkers.. They never do. My father noticed if you do not have a parking sticker and you park in reverse, they don't tow you. Even their tow trucks are too lazy to check for a sticker. There is some nice people here, but I can't say that about everyone. A lot of people here act very suspicious. The stairs just look dangerous. The paint in the restroom just starting chipping. Somehow the monthly bill keeps increasing, they blame it on the "water usage". I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody, it's horrible. To get covered parking you have to wait, once the wait is done you pay, but the thing is even if a person has moved out already, no longer living in the residence, gone, they said hasta la vista.. if they didn't cancel their parking THEY WON'T GIVE YOU THE SPOT! There is a cop here at least once a week. Firefighters had to come in today because the dumpster was on fire, heard from a lady that this isn't the first time it's happened! They don't try to prevent anything. The main manager looks down upon you just because you live in apartments.. That says something. They don't care. The walls are HORRIBLE! You can hear everything from any room in the apartment. No privacy. My bedroom door locks on itself and all I have to do it push it or pull it depending on which side of the door I'm on. The dangly thing on the fan that controls the light always gets stuck, I had a dark room for about a week! I've been wanting out since I've been here. I had no choice but to move here after a house fire, I had to stay close by my high school, but if it wasn't for that I would not be here at this very moment. Only have less than 3 months on the lease I do NOT plan on renewing it.”
— 5730 TIMBER CREEK PL DR UNIT # 324 · Houston“I've only been here a few months and so far it is okay. The apartment does have roaches and for all you people that think a clean apartment wont have roaches you are wrong. If a place is infested doesn't matter how clean you will see a roach every now and again, which is the case in my apartment, although it is not major to the point where I see them everyday. The dish washer needs to be replaced and the community laundromat area looks like no one ever cleans it, but the other appliances are okay. It is very quiet which I love, I come home at night almost every night and there is never anyone out. The office does have an issue with answering the phone and getting maintenance out in a timely manner but hopefully that will improve. The maintenance staff is very nice. I haven't noticed anyone in particular being rude, I pay my rent on time and if they were rude I would get them situated anyhow so that shouldn't be too much of a concern for people who know how to speak up. Other than that it is okay if you are broke, wanted to write this review because looking for an apartment is super stressful and sometimes these sites don't have enough balanced views.”
