“This place is poorly run. There is selling of drugs still. The manager is rude to the tenants. The manager does not care about fighting, selling of the drugs or smoking of drugs. The grounds are always trashed. You pay for a parking spot but others can try to jump on you about and she doesn’t care. The laundry rooms are broke up. It smells of drugs all through you vents horrible. Don’t forget all the shooting over here. Also kids breaking in cars.”

The office is more concerned with throwing holiday partys than anything else. And when I went into the office to tell them about my leak in the tub they said okay they will take care of it, 3 weeks later I get a text saying it needs to be in writing?!?!? The maintenance request might as well be invisible! They will NEVER fix anything! The dog park fence has been down for months and they won't fix it. They just say they called a company! The laundry room is terrible!! I walked into the laundry room and slipped on the water all over the floor! The machines get stuck and overflow with water. We have to use money cards for the machines and it takes away our money even if the machines doesn't work. I feel like we were lied to when we signed our lease.”

ONE. working in the office is rude and lazy. When the phone is answered in the office which is rarely, you will basically get told that the office can't help you. I pay for a parking spot, someone is always parking in it and when I tell the office they tell me they can't do anything about it. It is up to me to find out who it is, leave a note on their car or call the towing company and ask them to come tow it. When I asked for the towing truck #, I was told "it's on the signs at the gate." So with that being said, I was told to park in a "free" spot. Lucky me, I got to tromp through the parking lot with all my groceries and my special needs son. This new management and I use that word management extremely lightly, they're a joke. Not to mention my downstairs apartment flooded during Harvey and Imelda. I was basically forced to move to an upstairs apartment, and start my 12 month lease over. Meanwhile the flooring in my previous downstairs apartment did not get replaced after Harvey or Imelda and they now have a new tenant living in it.”

Tasha and Daniel have been awesome to me since I've moved in. I love it! I really enjoy it! This is the first time at an apartment where I really feel at home!”
— 5050 YALE ST · Houston“New management is completely unprofessional, especially the property manager. The rent is high and they don't fix anything in a timely manner. Don't expect anything to get done by corporation unless you get a attorney involved. This will be the last GVA Management property that I live on and as stated in the other reviews the new property manager is unprofessional and bitter she needs to be removed and replaced by someone more professional and that knows real estate and tenant laws because she will be the very reason this property gets a /class action lawsuit. I'm am not the only tenant who has said this either but we are all getting ready to start complaining to corporate becuase this is ridiculous. I prefer the previous management they had in office a few months ago before they switched. RUN FROM THESE APARTMENTS.”

— 5050 YALE ST · Houston“Very bad maintenance. Lived there for more than a year. They are under new management (again) and these new managers have you parking almost a mile away from your apartment. Not safe. No cameras and they're not liable for any damage. Customer service sucks. Think about it twice to move in here.”

— 5050 YALE ST · Houston“We moved in to this ------ --- apartment on Dec. 2010 and moved out on May 2011. We didn't finish our contract lease because they couldn't fix the things I needed to get fix. I have 5 kids and I don't want them to be touching the dirty water from bathroom tub, there was a leak in my bathroom and it's rusty water. My bathtub gets color rusty and my toilet water turns yellow all the time I cleaned it, no matter how many times I cleaned my toilet, the water is yellow, so disgusting. I had mold in my bathroom also, on the a/c vent in my room and in the living room, oh yeah, that wasn't all...I had a big mold in my room on the wall...OMG...what kind of place was this...This apartment is full of roaches....the manager is very lazy...she's a ----- and she thinks she's all that...all she does in her office is sitting her flat --- down...”
— 5050 YALE ST · Houston“THE OFFICE MANAGER IS A ----- SHE HAS CLEANED UP THE AREA WITH THE DRUGS GOOD THANG BUT THE APARTMNETS HAVE MICE THE AIR CONDITION LEAKS IN THE TUBE WITH A PIPE HANGING OUT YOU BATHROOM CEILING THEY NEVER FIX ANYTHING SOM PEOPLE DONT EVEN HAVE HOT WATER AND SHE TOWS ALL CALL VISITORS AND ALL EVERYBODY HAS TO HAVE THIS GREEN STICKER IN THERE CAR AFTER THE RENT IS PAID IT CRAZY CRAZY RUN RUN”
— 5050 YALE ST · Houston“I moved here in Dec 2009 and in the beginning, though there were some minor issues with the apartment, i.e., peeling paint on the doors and walls, rusty jagged edge in bathroom sink, tape on rusty leaking fridge to keep the roaches out of the freezer, no locks on windows, it was ok. Then apparently, Yale Court was bought by a different management company, things changed. Sonia, Property Manager, is a nice person who does show compassion; however David, who is a young man who really needs management training skills, is a different story. This is an all bills paid property; however David didnt read the laws for landlords regarding disconnection of utilities for non payment of rent. During difficult times while I lived here, my lights were turned off twice, once in April and another time in May, both after new laws effective 01/01/10 PROHIBITING this kind of disconnection. David went to the apartment above me, during the heat of the summer in late July, and disconnected the lights of an older lady who had not paid rent in 2 months, forcing her to move out a few days later. He then tried to come to my apartment and turn off mine; I refused to let him and SHOWED him the new law. We did get into a verbal confrontation and I pervailed! I know that I have had my issues with rent (I got laid off in May, then got another job but had problems getting paid), but in this economy, there should be some empathy for families who move here because of rental and/or criminal history. But regardless of what the circumstances are, no one should be treated like they are less than human and sadly that is what David does. Again, Sonia is a great person and I think she could do better working for a company who cares about providing a decent place to live, i.e., providing 24 hr security (HPD are in the complex at least 4-5 times a month, drug activity ALL DAY AND NIGHT under the carports, break ins spoardically and management does nothing about it, the pool was closed for most of the summer due to a citation from the City of Houston, cold water is hot and all water is brown (not safe for human and pet comsumption), and gun shots happen at night. My daughter and I, while unloading groceries, was almost struck by gunfire during a shootout - in fact less than a month ago, two people did get shot. I had to get window alarms because of two attempted break ins, one when the thief was bold enough to OPEN MY BEDROOM WINDOW in broad daylight and was about to come in when my daughter screamed and scared him away. When I first moved here, it was liveable - now here in August, my family and I dont feel save and Im moving out, not just because I was not able to pay 2 mos back rent, but because of the things mentioned here. If you have NO OTHER OPTIONS, please find another - Yale Court needs a serious overhaul and David needs to be replaced.”
