“I've noticed a few things about this property and so far it's all good. Things are truly improving for the better. There are some homeless around, but it's hard to control something beyond your control. Hopefully they leave on their own, but as far as the apartments and the staff they're great.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“The biggest improvement Ive noticed at Tara Hall Apartments has been the office staff. Kevin and Mayra are always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. It really makes a difference when you feel comfortable going into the office or calling with a question. They respond quickly and actually follow through, which hasn’t always been the case in the past. Work orders are also getting handled faster, so overall things have definitely improved.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“ok I keep seeing bad reviews on this but tbh I don't think its bad at all ... im done with my first year here and I had no problems at all the staff are sweet nice and explain everything. u have a question or an issue they do what they can to help u when they can .. which is everywhere .. just have to be patient that. since I been there have not one seen a rat and its the area outside its always maintained fresh cut grass etc. yea a new cabinet and better appliance I can agree we do need that .. but then again u do pay for what u get in a way .. and it works perfectly fine to me. the only thing I would have to say about living here is that parking is hell especially at night . but other than that I would recommend this place to others .. bc its not expensive its comfortable .. amazing location .. and I have to say my neighbors are quite nice and calm .. now the sound of speeding cars is troubling at times but I got used to it now that it doesn't bother me :) ..... renewing my contract for another year !!”
— 1717 College St · Houston“I been living here for almost 2 years, and the people in the office they are not kind at all, and if you have issue in your apartment they wont fix it, you pay electricity and water, plus the rent, and the neighbors are very noisy, it is not a good place to live, and is not worth the money.., The also rats and roaches, icant wait to finish my contract to move to another place I dont recommend living here.. And the laundry facilities they are always down, or don't work properly, all the time, There's cat poop every where when you walk around the complex..”
— 1717 College St · Houston“HORRIBLE! Apartment too small.Always calling for maintenance to fix plumbing issues but they never come. A/C system always not working. Roach infested apartments ,supposedly have the best pest control but never see the results. The restrooms are easily able to get mold since it does not have ventilation. Office workers are rude they towed my car twice for unnecessary reasons. There is never parking spots always have to park far from my apartment because other people that do not even live there park there and when I call the towing company they never come. I would never recommend someone to live here not even to an enmie. The rent is too high for a poor quality of apartments. If I can give it 0 start I would .”
— 1717 College St · Houston“Do not make a huge mistake by signing a lease. The appliances are old. Windows are so thin and let so much heat out which made my electric bill really high. I was 1 cent short on rent due to a mistake while making a money order and THEY LOCKED ME OUT MY OWN APT until I made a money order for 1 penny. The Roaches were so bad that I stopped cooking or storing food there for the last 3 months of my lease. Neighbors have party's and leave garbage everywhere. It's usually cleaned afterwards by employees but the dumpsters are always overflowing with trash. My car got broken into. I never write reviews but I feel that it is my obligation to warn anyone looking for a new apartment not to pick this ---- hole. ( oh yea, combined water bills are a huge rip off)”
— 1717 College St · Houston“Nope, i won't stay here any more even if i have to break my contract. the heater doesn't work properly. This is winter, the apartment is always cold all the time. the floor is tile not the carpet as i expect. All utility in the apartment seemed old and malfunctioned. The neighbour upstair always makes noise all day as if they move furniture around to make noise. I saw many strange people surrounding the parking area because there is no entrance gate to protect the area. it's kind of unsafe because there is already a robbery recently. i can't imagine how everything happened. The staff is rude to me each time i have any question about my apartment's problem. Terrible and nightmare to stay here because i paid for what i can't control.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“I used to live here..And i heard that lease term and conditions have already changed stricter recently. But, office staff is still rude and impolite. All the maintenance is such a long waiting line and never satisfy you with their service. One of my friend moved here, was robbed approximately in the 4th january 2013. I used to guess that it would happen soon, but i can't believe that it happened to my friend who has just started living here for just short time. He's just moved out of that horrible place. From the arround side, there is no gate. its front entrance is next to the road open for any person can come in without pertmittance. That's such a reason.. At time when i moved out months ago, i thought that i would never come back to this place because the one year contract limit my right to be released from the contract's obligation. I feel happy to get out that now. Thanks god, i don't have to see those impolited and rude staff. I would never recommend this place to anyone else. STAY AWAY FROM IT. THEY HAVE NO REPUTATION ON WORDS THEY SAID”
— 1717 College St · Houston“The office manager is rude and never respect your opinion or suggestion. Many times i told her to send people to fix my faucet because the water pressure is weak. She said that they will fix it today. And i've been waiting for a week later, some people come and can't fix it the fourth time. the same problem may remain the same. Since, the old residents can pay rent with personal checks, to new residents like me, they required me to pay by money order. Such annoying procedure. And how hard to ask them make or repair things on time is such effortless order. i feel regret to choose this place. I really want to move out right away after some of manager's bad conduct. She doesn't respect me as a client or resident. She didn't care if what happened to my apartment urgently.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“Cockroach is everywhere. Maintenance is like hell everytime they send people to my apartment for repair. They are very aggressive and lazy to fix things properly. If there is any problem for them to fix or repair, they would take longer time than usual while they're kind of free to talk and walk around just for fun. it took more than a week that my faucet can be fixed... Damned place. Robbery is going up here....Noise is around”
— 1717 College St · Houston“Apartments are very spacious, there are old, call for the same problem many times and I have not able to live in my apartment for more than 2 weeks without the bathroom ceiling falling parts the kitchen drawer where never fix some times the fixed any request after I had complain 3 o 4 times. Office personal is friendly. My car was vandalized. I like the cover parking but need major cleaning oil, and sand.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“My family and I have been very happy here and hope to continue being so.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“I moved in about a year and a half ago and, although they aren't luxury apartments, I like them. The office staff are good to me and my family and try to help out in any way they can when it comes to issues with the apartment.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“I have lived here for 2 years. I have never had any problems. The ladies in the office are always helpful as well as the maintenance staff. Any maintenance issues are taken care of right away. I have not had issues with roaches per the other reviews. I enjoy living here and I have told everyone about this property.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“theres nothing but old perverted -------- everywhere here. the manager cant even spell when he send us letters. roaches ruined my life here! its just terrible!”
— 1717 College St · Houston“I lived here for 11 years and in the past 4 years this place been going down ever since. You can not get anything repaired and roaches everywhere. The other day I had seen two mice.My neighbors smoke weed and have parties till five in the morning and they have some guy who get drunk every night and thinks he is Julio Iglesias.I have kids here that goes to school. Then the crime is going up to and there are no forced entry...hum.... On top of that I followed the guideline to move out and came to an agreement of when I was they came behind my back and change the lock on me.If you have to be here I wish you luck.”
— 1717 College St · Houston“even though rent is low, but you need to pay for electricity and water. It becomes expensive to live there.”
