“Went with my son to look at an apartment, manager inappropriately dressed sleeveless dress breast exposed, she had a earpiece in her ear talking on the phone, the landscape needed help, old cars in the parking lot, to much clutter outside the doors, beer cans on the grown not appealing at all. Under no circumstances will I allow my child to reside at a property like this”

“After reading all the other reviews it made feel good despite the fact that its all true. The first time i met Kim she seemed nice and willing to help me because of the situation i was in she let me stay without having a guarentor(which is illegal/unprofessional already)The only issue with my apt. was my window i had noticed when I first moved in was shattered. I told her about it and she got it fixed 2 days after i told her. She had an incident she wanted to discuss with me and to do so she opened my door without knocking and screaming up the stairs calling my name. Then, my boyfriend stayed with me and she turned all the way around..about a week ago she informed me of an alleged complaint she had received, then i didn't hear from her until today 11/1/11. BI-POLAR KIM COMES AROUND THE BUILDING OUT OF A CLOUD OF SMOKE AND APPROACHES ME AND MY BOYFRIEND WITH A TWISTED SMILE. AS SHE STOPS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US WE'RE GREETED WITH THE INSULT, "WHAT YA'LL GON' DO?" ALREADY STRESSED ABOUT PAYING THIS LADY BEFORE THE 3rd COMES, AND YELLS AT US TALKING ABOUT THAT SHE WAS GOING TO LOCK US OUT AND SHE DOESNT CARE BECAUSE SHE HAS A PLACE TO LIVE. MY BOYFRIEND SAID NOTHING AS I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I WASNT GOING TO STRESS OVER IT WHICH WAS MY WAY OF SAYING "OK MS. KIM". LATER THAT DAY I CAME BACK TO A BIG DEAD BOLT PADLOCK ON MY DOOR AND I'M LOCKED OUT OF EVERYTHING I OWN INCLUDING CLOTHES, FOOD, MEDICATION, ETC. ********I PAY MY RENT, CAN SHE DO THIS, LEGALLY??************ I HAVENT EVEN BEEN HERE LONG AND AFTER THIS IM NOT PLANNING ON BEING HERE TO MUCH LONGER. “The apartment parking sucks. There's only 2 visitors spot. The maintenance is a drug dealer and the ring leader in noise and problems. The staff is very ------ and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The gates are normally broken the majority of the time. The mgmnt team don't pay their bills. This staff and residents are freinds or either family, anything goes at this dump. The laundry room is always hot. They have an exercise room, that is always broken and you are subject to be electrocuded. The whole place isd one big joke”

“Sorry is the first thing I have to say about these apartments. The whole staff is rude and unprofessional. That skinny spotted up manager that goes by the name of Kim is ------. And that includes her boss Linda with her man face. They try to dress to impress but they are evil on the inside. There doors to their apartments are weak and should be replaced. They are cheap, they just patch up their repairs. But they charge tons of money for damages to their tenants.They are jealous and envious of attractive females that live in their apartments. Kim is just mad because she look like a flat ironing board. And the owner is shaped like a butter biscut. If your eyes read this review, listen to what I'm saying. It's a helll hole, what makes it a hell hole is the people that is over the apartment. I give them a zero.”

“These apartments are hell on earth! Yes their cheap, but if i would've known how rude and ------ management was i would've NEVER MOVED HERE! Everything was fine until the day i moved.....i moved in the beginning of August and when i got inside i was shocked to find out that the a/c was broken! When i brought this issue up to the managers, LINDA and KIM, they said they couldnt fix it bcuz they didnt have the parts! I moved in on a Saturday and my a/c wasnt fixed till Wednesday! There was very limited parking, but it was never noisy. The maintenance man, GLENN, is the laziest person on earth! My garbage disposal was broken for two months before he came to fix it, it smelled like something had died down there. I've had the managers BANG on my door at all times of day, and write me nasty letters and leave them on my door. They once got mad at me bcuz i told them that my fan would shake violently when i turned it on past low speed, LINDA said to me "you just need to keep it on low then!" WOW they didnt even attempt to solve the issue! ------, IGNORANT FOOLS! If you take a tour of these apartments, u will definitely notice how rude and ignorant they are. Beware of LINDA AND KIM! They are the ----- in cheap, tacky clothing! I could go on and on about how unprofessional they are, but that would take me all day! BEWARE OF CALUMET COURT, try the SAVOY down the street!”

“It's a good thing that I don't base all of my decisions on what others say. Especially with all of these complaints, yet almost everyone of you stayed here for more than a year. I don't know of any lease terms for 2 years or more. I like the fact that the office staff are the way that they are which is why despite the outside of the gate surroundings the apartments are nice, quiet and safe. Regardless of wherever you live you cannot control everything but they do a good job. As for as the parking goes I lived in other apartment complexes where when I came home I had no where to park due to another tenants guest. So that's also a plus for me. And far as fixing things I've had no problems the entire time I was here with any of the staff or maintenance.”

“First off I would like to start off by saying, that these apartments are near TSU and U of H, so it isnt THAT bad if you are in school and have a friend to roomate with you. BUT,I must warn you that these idiots who run these apartments are in serious need of a attitude adjustment and makeover! I cant believe that they would treat grown --- men and women like their special needs children![and not in a good caring way either]. When i stayed here with my boyfriend she would tell him he cannot be outside HIS apartment door for more than 2 minutes talking to someone,and would yell at him to get back in the apartment. MIND you he was helping me with bags of food and we were NOT LOUD while speaking to his neighbor. Well anyway let me list the negatives. -I figured out that she [JESSIE] is on drugs and thats why she cannot perform her job duties as she SHOULD. -The gate is ALWAYS BROKEN. -Crack heads and prostitutes and DRUG DEALERS are surrounded outside the entrance of the gates,and usually inside the gates[because they are broken]. - ROACHES,and neighbors who beat their wives and children like slaves. -NO PARKING! You have to park your car OUTSIDE THE GATE, and may i remind you who are usually standing there! - Cars get broken into and STOLEN! - Did i mention they have crackheads running the apartments and these ladies have your personal information,so just imagine what they can do with it.[Thats all I am going to say!When times are rough and crack is low,time calls for desperate measures] ALSO,When i moved to another apartment, I had to put down the last place I lived, and as they called CALUMET COURT Jessie stated she has nothing on me and hung up on the other leasing agent. Very unprofessional![BTW i stayed there for 2 years in 2 different apartments] THIS PLACE COULD BE NICER IF THEY FIRED THOSE WHO RUN/OWN IT! This part of the hood is re-building itself and the land costs money,but they will never go anywhere cuz they have non-professional mean witches of the west running it. I suggest to look on the other side of HWY 288!RUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!”

“The "Behind the Evil" review was actually pretty accurate. The complex WAS a diamond in the rough. However, Ike blew the security gate down! Management has not attempted to reconstruct it which leaves the perimeter open to the undesirables. I've had random people walk up to me as I left for work in the morning asking for a 'light' for a smoke. There are only two visitor spaces so your company has to park on the street!! Bottom line, if you're a college student needing a descent and affordable place close to school you can't beat it. The management is horrible, rude, mean, inconsiderate, and did I mention horrible? While you're a student you probably won't notice. But trust me, you'll be more than eager to move once you graduate!!”

“As a resident of some years, this is a behind the scenes review of living on this property. Much of what previous tenants have said is very true. The property owner - Linda leaves much to be desired in her personality and professionalism. There have been several managers at this property over the years who seemed to have bi-polar personalties depending on the day you visited the office. The maintenance staff have always been nice and respectful. If you need repairs, the owner may tell you to fix it or charge you for their inconvenience. They also use the homeboy network, so if your air conditioning is out, it may or may not be fixed for several weeks. In addition, there is towing of unregistered vehicles and there are only 2 visitors spaces that are rarely avaialble. There is a gym, with malfunctioning equipment that could injur a tenant. The wash room may or may not have machines that are working and management is slow about repairs and will not post signs as a courtesy, so that tenants do not lose their money. The flip side of living in these apartments is you live in a great location and you are safe for the most part behind these gates, which do not work from time to time. On the outside, there is drug trafficking, prostitution and all sorts of undesirables. But on the inside, these apartments are quiet and decent for the price. The price is affordable and is ideal for students, couples or single parents. These apartments are a diamond on the rough side of 288 if the owner would recognize this. There are so many opportunities for improvement, but it would take the owner waking up to this revelation and making this a reality. Bottom line, if you can deal with the rudeness of the owner, and some of the things I have mentioned, you will be okay living here. There are no pets to worry about and you do receive fines for being to noisy or disruptive. The one thing I have liked about living here is that it is very quiet, safe and affordable. This is especially important if you want to live in a place with a great location, while putting some money aside to save for your ideal home goals.”

“I currently live at Calumet Court and it is a good price for the area that you live in. I am 3 miles from Rice Village and 5 miles from the Galleria. I also am just around the corner from UH and TSU. While it is not the most luxurious place, its clean and quiet. I have never had any problems with the management staff and I haven't had any parking problems. It is definitely not a place to go if you have alot of parties and what not. They are strict about noise and rowdy behavior. The area is coming up and its not a bad place to be. I am happy here.”

“his has to be to worst complex in Houston. My son is a college student at nearby Texas Southern University. When he first moved into the complex the manager and I had a disagreement, because she I question some of their fees, such as the water and cable being included in the rent. Which they later tried to say he would have to pay for it seperate. Because of our disagreement she had the audacity to say that I could not come on the premises unless I apologized to her. Now we all know that didn't happen. My son has to find other places to wash because the washing machine never works. His air goes out every other week, and it takes them a whole month to fix it. When asking the staff for an idea of when the air will be fixxed, they tell you when they get to it. They are very, very, very rude and unprofessional. If you have to time to file a legal complaint on the you should, because no one when paying their money should receive this type of service. You can do that by going to HAAonline.org click on residents and the dispute/mediation. Good luck because if you plan on moving there you will need it.”

“Calumet Court Apartments is ok, when you payin wha we pay it is not going to be a 5star place but their are nice inside and ok outside, parkin is not the bests. CCA is not that bad as everybody make it out to be, as long as you have your money for rent, everythin is cool with them. and make sure not to park your car outside the gate that is all i have to say. overall i give CCA a 7 which is very good for wha we pay. and Yes, I would recommend Calumet Court Apartments”

“The management staff is unreal. Those are the most unprofessional people I have ever run across in my life, especially the owner LINDA. And the manager is just as evil as her. When I first moved into MASTER DISASTER they advertised free cable and water on the brochure. Then they stick a white sheet of paper in the door that says you will have to start paying an additional $52.00 starting Jan. When I called to find out why, the owner Linda, starting snapping at me like a BULL DOG. I couldn't even get in two words and then she hung up in my face. The parking is so limited. Don't try to go out and have a good time with your friends because when you come back you probably will be parking across the street at the park where the dope dealers are. VERY UNSAFE:( The workout room doesn't even have working equipment and no AIR. You have to keep the door open if you don't want to die in the heat. The maintanence staff changes a lot. But honestly those were the nicest people there. At least they would speak. When its time to move out of that DUMP they give you a checklist with prices on it like if you don't dust off the ceiling fan it $25.00. It's just ridiculous. Please advise your love ones don't move there. Again I say "DON"T MOVE THERE".”

“If you want your car stolen, wet carpet, non-working air-conditioner, no where for guests to park, rude managers that THINK they are cute in their night clothes, or to be treated like you're in a dorm. This is the place for you. I've had everyone of those problems listed above and it's been terrible. I don't know who rated this place a ten but they must be smoking some serious marijuana. The driveway to get out of the this place sucks. You will damage your car heavily. Don't forget you're only eligible for two parking spaces because there are only 2 visitors parking spots. It's just a complete hassle. When I moved in initially everything was fine. After the 2nd week I realized I was screwed. The apartment manager ,Ms. Evil --- Jesse, was rude to everyone inside the complex that wasn't her smoking buddy. She often frowned didn't want to assist with anything and had these horrible lease signing parties. (She even dressed up). LOL. And on top of that you have to deal with a non-working workout area, no pool, a stove that shattered my glass pan on 200 degrees. It was a ridiculous experience. Lesson learned: Never rent in the hood, cause it's still managed by the hood as well as surrounded by people who will steal your stuff. The apartment maintenance stole money out of our apartment. Just be very careful. The worst part, they sent notices stating that you can't turn your A/C below 65 degrees or you will be responsible for paying the cost for the ac freezing. What air conditioner freezes at 65 degrees. There were spiders everywhere, in the bathroom, kitchen and backroom. Exterminating around there is a complete joke. Also, you have to pay the apartment manager $50 for a mailbox key, $20 if you get locked out of your apartment. No receipts. I believe the staff pockets the money for bad hair weave. They are just undeniably rude. I hope this sums up most of the issues cause it's just too many to write. BOTTOM LINE: DON'T MOVE IN THIS PLACE, IT'S CHEAP AND DANGEROUS. The owners of property need to be notified because people are getting swindled.”

“I would like to warn all those who are searching for an apartment- not to rent from this particular complex! management is horrible! The landlord along with her property managers are very rude & unprofessional. They run this complex like a concentration camp! You are at fault for every repair that you report & they request for you to pay for repairs.They thrive off upsetting their tenants. They are miserable; and what do they say about misery? It loves company. When you question them or challenge them concerning anything, you best look forward to being evicted. They are very dishonest!They treat your guests with disrespect! The maintenance crew appear to be drug addicts. They ask to borrow money and your keys.Also,the maintenance crew changes quite often. You can't have your front door open, nor sit outside. The landscapers cut the grass as early as 7:00 a.m. on weekends. It's annoying to hear a weed-cutter that early. Last but not least,after they have upset you, they always threaten you by saying they have a gun in their desk drawer. So if you don't take heed to this warning, and you move here, remember to bring a recorder with you when you go into their office & save all paperwork,submit all requests on paper for documentation. You will need proof of their behavior if you decide to bring them to court to assist with not breaking your lease. This is not a joke, this is not an attempt to savatoge the Complex; this is a serious warning! I wish someone would have warned me. I was referred to this website by a former tenant I saw in the area.”

“I am very disatisfied with the staff they handle themselves very unprofessionaly. linda and jesse conduct themselves like bullies, when something breaks down they accuse you of having abused it, and they don't want to fix it...they talk to you harshly and disrepectfully and when you take up for yourself they accuse you of lying about the dispute and write you up on a lease violation and threaten you with an evection. if you have guest or family over they threat them rudely, i have never in my life found people to be so ignorant! and it doesn't have to be like this, just because you have money doesn't mean that class comes with it... i am thankfull for websites like this one where you can warn people of the mistake that they would make by renting somewhere with the lack of quality that this place has, i hope that i have been of help to anyone, so they don't make the mistake i have :(”

“I live at this complex now and i dont ever go into the office. The staff does not care how good you are in paying your rent, they still show no respect, I mean they act as if there are no more apartments in Houston besides them. They are the rudest people I have ever met. Try to get something fixed and they will straight up tell you they dont have time to fix it. Its terrible. You almost want to ask for the management companies phone number but I dont think they even have one. They are pretty strict with rules and its a pretty quiet complex but they deffinatly act as if the tenants owe them something!!!”

“If you talk politely and nicely, then people are polite too. But the manager is a different species altogether. I totally agree with the previous posts. She will yell at you even if you speak politely. She definitely needs to take an anger management class. On the other hand, if you are on a tight budget, then this place is sort of OK. It is not safe outside (with drug dealers, hookers, and criminals on prowl), but I feel quite safe inside the gated complex.”

“The manager is rude, parking for visitors for the entire complex consists of two spots. The apartments are cheap and in a prime location but, the near element of drug addicts and their counterparts make me feel very unsafe. Also, there are numerous rules some of which are ridiculous, i.e., no aquariums, no candles, etc... But...again, the rent is pretty inexpensive.”

“Office staff is not just unprofessional, but very rude too. They actually yell at you. I can't understand why they don't talk in a polite tone. Why they need to get defensive and angry when you are talking to them politely. They don't even listen, and interrupt you beofre finishing. Other than that, the apt is so-so, nothing special. Just the price is on the lower side. But the staff rudeness may be too much to handle.”
