“Roach invested, false reports for entering home for inspections(they blow up your phone daily with spam but invade your house saying it's random and that's the only thing they email instead of text), no lights in living room, domestic violence nightly, last night a beer bottle was broken against my door, banging and stomping from neighbors daily and nightly, trash outside doors regularly, maintenance entered the house while not home, maintenance damaged floors, renovations are done so poorly it clearly shows management does not care in the slightest unless it's harassing renters or trying to get money out of surprise inspections, electrical lines were out from someone setting a massive fire in the dumpster last week, during the evacuation my home was entered by another renter, even if you pay on time you're spammed constantly with mass send outs to pay rent or have electricity turned off, the pool might as well be a trash pit and is only used by ppl partying late into the night since you're not allowed to swim in it, no parties are allowed but management allows certain ppl to do fireworks and party constantly, no trash allowed outside door but I've seen trash outdoors weeks at a time, investigations are not mentioned in the lease but even then are deemed random when they are clearly not, abandoned vehicles here for some reason, gunshots the other night, heard about muggings from neighbors, strict rules that are clearly only for certain individuals. I've never seen a management and property so unprofessional and messy. Unless you're desperate for a cheap spacious apartment that allows low credit line occupancy, I highly recommend to continue looking, even if you need cheap and spacious. Honestly, if someone knows of one... feel free to message me, cause I feel trapped in this hell hole and my roommate is scared to even go to her car at night or daytime.”

“sewer problem lasted for days no clean up after that so poop everywhere toilet paper all over the place flies and the smell ...DO NOTMOVE HERE my last year living here thats for sure !!!!!! management is a joke !!!! - There have been many shootings near our apartment. - The pool is disgusting, it hasn't been cleaned in months. - We have dealt with mold problems. -”

“I have lived here since 2009 it was never really all that good but now it has gotten horrible I had to go get a gun license and purchase a firearm because my wife was robbed at gunpoint I keep seeing people's hubcaps and tires stolen from their vehicle and in some cases the vehicle stolen I have caught someone on camera twice stealing from my porch and there will not be a third time. This used to be a gated community and we had a security guard with a security booth in front of the gate. The new management took away the security booth took away the security guard and all the gates are down so anyone can walk in and out and you could drive a whole vehicle to the back of the apartment where the gate used to be. I'm really upset because I thought I had a good relationship with the front office but today after a hard day at work I went to pick up my package at 5:35 and they told me I was 5 minutes late the office is already closed after I had already walked in and the door was not locked and they proceeded to escort me out and lock the door behind me in those same few seconds it took for them to push me out they could have just given me my package. I stayed because the rent was a little cheaper but now it's not worth it anymore I choose my safety of my family safety over rude people and criminals. Not only is the apartment complex unsafe. But the area is becoming more unsafe with the hotels right next to the apartment the police are constantly doing raids for prostitution and drugs you would think with that happening so close that the apartment management would try to make the apartment safer but instead they just give us a letter telling us to be careful and not to make ourselves an easy target. Before the new management I always got treated nicely because I have been here for so many years but now with this new management I get treated like I'm just some brand-new person off the street who is probably going to be leaving tomorrow so who cares about him. If you have a choice do not move here if you don't have a choice and you need to save the extra money good luck carry a gun watch your back because they're not going to help you at all. And I have been here almost 10 years so I've watched this apartment go from horrible two decent so horrible again good luck out there”

“Please save yourself the headache, your credit rating, money, time, mental stability, overall health and well being and avoid this place like the plague. There is black mold and mildew on most of the buildings, roach infestations that management doesn't seem to care about. (They swear that they care about their tenants but explicitly told me, to my face, on several occasions too, that our safety or well being is none of their concern.) If you go above them to their boss, the management well pull you into the office and verbally threaten you. They have a system where you can pay online if you want to not being in money orders but it works half the time.. If that. They leave when they're supposed to be in the office and well lock you it.. Their overnight drop box is screwed shut so it's as if they're wanting you to be late in paying to get that extra money. They allow several families to live in a one bedroom.. Or upstairs neighbors have 11 people living in a one bedroom.. Management knows about this. Some aren't even supposed to be on the property because the sheriff's banned them for squatting and burglerizing several properties.. Management knows about that too, but they don't care. So prepare yourself for the constant noise and fighting.. Neighbors constantly fight. It's have gotten to the point that they have fought so roughly that our bedroom door no longer stays shut. We've had to call the police countless times. There were shootings on the property.. One today in fact. Seeing cops here are a regular occurrence. And they're not paying for your safety, but because they were called in. The management will tell you it's a safe area but police as well as other neighbors well tell you that this complex is used for theft, prostitution, and drug rings. The gates rarely work, but even when they do, expect to still have your car broken into or tires stolen. There are several rather large holes in the fence where people come in to take what they want. They'll rob you in front of your apartment for and if they can break in, they will. The laundry rooms smell like a urinal and good luck finding machines that work.. Then, you have the neighbors that hot box them, too. Better hope you have the top floor or no one above you. If you bring up concerns to management several times, they'll swear up and down that this is the fiat of them hearing of it. They treat you add though your insignificant and a joke. If you don't like something, they'll urge you to break your least so they can charge you the rest of the rent you owe and then the $400 fee for breaking the lease. The "open amenities" are never open. Parking is horrible. There is maybe one good maintenance guy, the rest are too busy screwing prostitutes in unoccupied apartments. I've witnessed this several times, and when caught the maintenance crew laughs. Good luck with hot water. My side of the building had no hot water for about 2 months upon first coming here and now the only way to have consistent hot water while showering is to turn on the hot water in the sink and the water on all the way hot in the shower. Speaking of waste, don't drink the tap water here. You'll have floaty things in your water.. And the water itself tastes like a combination of salt, bleach and chlorine. If you have something on your balcony that the manager doesn't like it approve of, they well threaten to enter your home, remove said personal property and then fine you for every individual thing they remove. This place is a joke and is run by slum lords. Don't do this to yourself, or your family.”

“STAY AWAY FROME HERE moved here because the rent was a little cheaper and close to work today on 9/18/16 I was car jacked two young guys pulled me out my car with a gun to my head and made me lay face down in the parking lot they took my phone keys wallet with all my info in it the gate is never closed ALWAYS open been here almost a yr never seen it close my building has been rob 3 times and there's always people walking around due to the hotels I would say pay the extra 150, 200 and find a safer place to lay your because this is not it .”

“NEVER EVER AND I MEAN NEVER LEASE HERE! I was only at La Esencia a little over a month before i was robbed at gun point with my 6 month old baby in my arms as i was unlocking my front door. You pay for gated access but the gates are NEVER closed ALLOWING robbers to come in. I lived right by the office so after he robbed me i watched him RUN out of the GATES that are NEVER CLOSED! What did management try to do after he had the spare key to my car, apartment, my wallet, phone, whole purse? NOTHING! Asked them to keep they're gates closed i was told they would. DID THEY? NOOOOO! I was told they will have security... did they? NOOOOO! I had no choice but to break my lease i had a 6 month old baby and this man knew exactly what apartment i lived in being that i was unlocking my front door as i was robbed. Asked for locks and apartment to be changed. COULDN'T DO IT! So guess who now has a broken lease on there credit after mailing a notarized letter to the apartment manager? This girl here. Which is all --------! Once the police where called out i was told they get 3 to 4 calls A MONTH over something like this. The police where there almost every night. I was scared for mine and my child's life. THE HOTELS NEXT TO THEM HAVE PROSTITUTES IN THEM SELLING SEX ALL DAY NIGHT AND MORNING. ROACHES EVERYWHERE IN THE APARTMENTS AND THE COMPLEX PEST CONTROL CAN NOT GET RID OF THEM. Upon my move in there was holes all in the bottom of my walls with majority of them showing wire. THIS WAS THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE AND NOW I AM BEING FAULTED FOR THEM PROVIDING AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR THERE TENANTS. Now i am having to take them to court. Which to me is a bunch of --------. They know they are wrong but do they give a damn? Of course not because they just want money while they're tenants are being robbed at gun point apartments are being broken into people are fighting outside non stop. DO NOT MOVE HERE! CHEAP RENT BUT NOT WORTH IT! DON'T DO IT! The staff is horrible especially the manager and JERLENNE! They pretend to help and care. If i would have lost my child's life due to these apartments they would have been in a lot of trouble! I pay for gated access so why are the gates ALWAYS OPEN?”

“I repeat please do not move into these apartments. Yes, they are affordable, spacious.. but they are the most roach infested, unclean, never fix anything but patch it up. There's no ventilation. Mold is growing. Vents are horrible and floor is starting to sink in. Police are constantly over here for various issues. Many young people live in complex so be ready to get contact from drugs when you get out your vehicle. Not a place for a family to live long term. It's a stepping stone. If you can avoid these, please do. Management is nice and caring when it comes to rent, that's the only perk, but what benefit is that when your paying rent and conditions are unsafe.”

“My spouse and I lived there for two years. The management was a joke. We told the management we had Windows leaking water when it rained. They took a cup of water to the window and said that it was fine. We had water pipes break multiple times. The staff was rude. Hell I told the assistant that we had water stain on the ceiling. The maintenance man came with a can of white spray can . Sprayed the ceiling and that was it.”

“I lived in these apartments as a little girl with my brother and dad, back when it was still Apache Springs. This was more than 10 years ago but I remember the gate always being open, my dad's car was broken into through the window even though he kept it unlocked, and there was a murderer who lived above us. The man was a red headed guy who only seemed to be nice to me and other children. I was up sick at 3am with my dad when the man above exchanged gun fire with the police after they knocked claiming to be "pizza delivery". Bullets went through the ceiling and I was interviewed by police at 6 or 7 years old. This place has never been any good!”

“I second the poster under me. Yes the rent is cheap but you get what you pay for. I have been here since last year. I cannot take the roaches, no hot water, low water pressure, unsanitary/unkept property any longer. No matter how hard you clean, how much spray you, how many times you bomb the place, the roaches come back worse than before. Every other week there's cops here because the drugs and other altercations that happen. Yes, they are great to get your place, but if you want your peace of mind and not having to worry about roaches or the police breaking up drug or other altercations, steer clear from this property. You have been fairly warned.”

“I been in my apartment for a month and already regret it. I will be paying to break my lease. Worst apartments ever! I moved in with roaches. How is that possible. So many problems within my first month and they have yet to been fixed only upside about my apt is I have new carpet but everything else is completely ridiculous. Entrance gate is always open. Trash through out the apartments. I have a baby and I find roaches trying to get in her closed formula. I had holes in my walls when I moved in. Why wouldn't you look at the apt before u lease it to someone else? Horrible experience. Oh and btw across the street is a hotel that's full of prostitutes smh.”

“I am leaving this place. I will risk an eviction because its not safe here. My truck was broken into and my daughter and I were followed all the way to our apartment. My neighbors truck was stolen and my neighbors home was robbed at gun point and then pistol whipped. I tried expressing my concern to the office and was told. There is nothing they can do because they just work here. There is no security. You can't use the amenities because people like to do drugs in them. Its horrible here. If you have valueables that you cherish dont move in here.”

“This place is awful! !! We've been here almost a year and are trying to get out of our lease. Roaches, fleas, people vandalizing cars, booming base at all hours, ------ --- people. The management refuses to do anything about the roaches and told us to do it ourselves. We've been bitten and everything. I can't take it here anymore. This place has you wanting to go to a loonie bin!!! There has been like 3 robberies within the past couple weeks just a few minutes away. We need help!!! We're reporting them ASAP. Run Away while you still can!!!!”

“im going on my third year living here and haven't had any problems. its quiet ....nice and everyone goes about their bussinness.... management is nice and maintnance wonderful.”

“This complex is by far the worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. Kids regularly smoke weed and vandalize the washing machines in the laundry room. My neighbors were robbed at gun point and had their car stolen during broad day light! The security guard that was once securing the property is now gone because the thugs have run him off. He was so scary that he didn't even look at you in your face, his head was constantly down. Unit: The carpet was never changed in my apartment. Before i moved in they assured me that it would be. Instead they put some air freshener down instead. I get hot water maybe twice a week if I'm lucky. When i turn on the water this brown substance oozes out of my faucets. My burners don't work. So I spend a lot of time buying food out because I can't cook at home. My refrigerator has a mind of it's own, it doesn't really ever get cold. Oh and did I mention I have visitors? Yea weevils, roaches, ants and termites in my unit. I have so many that they should be paying rent. Parking: Well let's see. There's barely any parking unless you want to park in the creepy part of the complex and have a bird crap coating on your hood and roof of your car. When you do park your car close to the buildings you have to be careful because the tenants are completely careless. I've had my doors hit multiple times by irresponsible parents and children. Oh and did I mention a random kid tried to steal my license plate off of my car? Management: They charge you for everything! Threatening to kick you out for even $1. I've been living here for almost a yr and I pay my rent on time faithfully every month. They make up frivolous charges so they can fund their pockets. If you don't care about having your car broken into, having your car scratched, bathing with slimy brown water, staying next door to hoodlums that sit on your steps smoke weed and aspire to be rappers or roommate with unidentified creatures then this is definitely the place for you. Don't say I didn't warn you.”

“The absolute WORST!! Manager Judy is rude and incompetent!!! I decided to rent a 2 bedroom and was told to turn on the light in my name days prior to movingn which i did. They called me on numerous occasions prior to my move in date but the day i show up to pick up my keys on my move on date i was informed the previous tenants of the apartment never moved out! The light had already switched to my name and they took my money order and signed it knowing that. When i asked why not one call was made to me to inform me the MANAGER JUDY told me oh its because we didnt know. Which is absolutely ridiculous! And the entire time were soo rude! They really made it seem like if somehow we were wrong when they are ridiculously incompetent.”

“Run as fast as you can!! Unless you a ------ trash this is the perfect place for you!! Rent is cheap and so is the office staff!! They will look you dead in the eye and lie to you!!! People will just abandon cars here and the office will not do anything about it!! The office won't do anything period!!! They are lazy skanks!!! They promise you everything and as soon as you move they refuse to do anything!!! I have asked them several times to fix stuff and they keep telling me that they will do it!! They don't care if you call every day, they will do nothing to fix ANYTHING!! I have tried to contact corporate and all you get is a voicemail!!! I can't wait to sue the hell out of them!!! I am out of here ASAP!!! O AND THEY DON'T CARE HOW MANY ANIMALS YOU HAVE OR WHAT THEY ARE!!!”

“well our lease will be up soon ..me and my husband had decided to stay ....prior management was better before ...now they are horrible...am doing this anonimously becausei still live here but here is my story ...my rent was due on the 4th i get paid on the 3rd i've never been late on my rent...ever!!!!! and i have proof of that .!!! so i get off work and since it was late i go on the 4th to get my money order ...so i go drop it off and they are closed because of 4th of july!!!!! ok so by the next day i owed 85$ for late fees plus my rent wich is 550$ ok so i go get my money order ofcourse mad!!!! i go try to pay my rent again and the office was closed on a saturday at 4:44 pm so am really mad at this point because i knew one more day means more late fees ...so yes total i paid 550$ plus 85$ plus !0$ so yes am moving ...managers before were some what flexible and would wait for me and others if u called to let them know you were in traffick or we all know things happen but i just felt really dissapointed and at this point ..am moving out ! i 've put up with no ac.no hot water! a leak in my ac! half of my plugs didnt work at some point! poolsbeing dirty!!!! workers in the office being rude!!!! people smoking in the laundry rooms !!! you calle leave messages and they dont doanything!!! NO SECURITY!!!!!! and this is now since new management took over before we always had an officer in the entrance and on the premises!!!! am just done !!!!!!!!”

“Well I leaved there for a year.. wen my lease was about to be over I gave my note saying that I was not renewing contract with them after a week they change the staff and Didn't validate my note. Now they put 2010 dollars in collection saying that I did not complete my lease they charge me for two months of rent they replace the closet door because it was broken at the beginning of my lease and they decide to charge me for that also saying that I broke a wall etc etc ATTENTION PEOPLE DONT MOVE THERE THAT PLACE IS FULL OF THIEFS iNCLUDING THE LEASING OFFICE PEOPLE YOU WILL BE IN DANGER!!!!”

While i lived there, the grounds were infested with fleas. They were in the apartment, no matter how much we sprayed, and if you stepped outside your feet and legs were covered. I never could get maintenance to fix the various things that went wrong in my apartment. There were stray cats everywhere, and I've found one dead by the dumpster (with NEEDLES sticking out of the body). There was a sewage problem they left unattended for months. I could always hear fighting from other apartments, and on more than one occasion my fiance and I had to get involved by calling the police and breaking fights up. The office never returns my messages. When I asked about a notice of intent to leave, I was told to bring it in when I moved. I asked to see my contract to double check, and the lady was unable to find it. They took my deposit, and still sent me a large bill for damages. I've called multiple times about this issue, and to see about setting up payments, and they don't return my calls, they have to check the status of the report, or I have to pay it in full WITH IN 15 DAYS. Also, the laundry room was never kept up with. If a washer or dryer (which usually amounted to about half of them) was out, no "out of order" sign was placed, and it would take weeks to be resolved.”

“Please please DO NOT let your student rent from this apartment complex, It is ill managed and worse. We let our son stay here while attending UTI and we are still having problems over a year later. They have changed managers so many times that I couldn't keep up with them all at least 4 over the course of one year. They couldn't even find our lease agreement when I told them we put down a deposit and they wanted to charge a cleaning fee when he moved out. They assigned other renters to his apartment without even asking if it was ok. Then the other renters bailed on the rent and then the cleaning fees so we have to pay it because we were the first on the lease. I have fought over the cleaning fees for a year, first they said if we would pay half they would not make us pay the rest, which we did... NOW we find out they turn the balance over for collections !!??!! TO MUCH WRONG IN THIS BUSINESS...”

“just decided to post this again!this place sucks, I have been here 2 years and this is the how it has always been. I came home today and there was no hot water, which is the case at least twice a week for me. I live in the back so there is always mud after the rain and I track mug into my apartment on a regular basis. my lease is up in a few weeks and I bet my lifes savings that they try to charge me for the carpet being dirty. the new owners of LaEsencia tried to bribe me with free carpet cleaning only if I renewed..seriously?? who does that. the new office staff is rude and since they have come I see moving trucks with people leaving this place. teenagers will come and sit on your steps to smoke weed so that they are not doing it in front of their units. there was security here but that didn't make a difference because they just let everyone in anyway. which is why my neighbor came out one morning with his car sitting on cinder blocks and all 4 tires gone. my bbq pit was stolen, patio chairs stolen. just bunch of riff raff and loud noise and theft. im so ready to get out of here, I have just leased somewhere else and I cant wait. also they decided to change the water company when the new owners came and they charged everyone an extra 10 days on the water bill and when it didn't get paid that put past due notices on the door along with a threat of eviction if not paid, in the 2 years I have been here my water bill has been the same, so how would I know that the company changed and they went up on the bill? the do not send notices when your water will be off for maintenance, or no hot water. I was relaxing my hair one day and went to rinse and there was no water, so imagine my panic!! I hate this place!!!”

“I honestly cannot wait until my lease is up so I can leave. The complex is not taken care of, poor landscape. It's usually dirty and when it rains, the walk paths are always muddy for days after. The laundry rooms are religiously dirty! The water in my apartment has a weird smell to it and the smell sticks to your body after shower! In fact when I turn on the water, the first few seconds brownish water comes out then it clears up. But all in all, its cheap for a reason. The place has complete new management now and it seems they are trying to change the name of the complex to La Esencia, hope they will fix this mess.”

“I have lived here for 3 years and i love how quiet it is. This place is always clean. I love my new neighbors and our kids get along great. I don't always have a close parking spot, sometime I have to park several spots from my door and if it's raining it makes it difficult to get the kids in the house. I really like this location, I am close to my job and my kids school. I haven't had any problems like these other people but I mind my own business and pay my rent on time. Maintenance is fast and if they can't come that same day, someone from the office will call and tell me. I have referred 2 people to live here and they like it too.”
