“I am a current tenant at Montierra and have lived here for over 7 years. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about the apartment building or the employees of the facility. The staff has been nothing but helpful and courteous with all of my dealings over the years. The building itself has a lot to offer the tenants. Things like pools, really nice gym and a party room you can rent. I would happily refer this building to anyone moving into the area.”

“As an Asian female who lived in American for 10+years, their manager is the first one who pretend she doesn't understand my English and treated me very poorly. She did not want to help me or even listen to my concern, she hanged up on me when I was trying to be patient and polite. They illegally dumping trash in an giant open top/ construction use only container(even there is better appropriate solution according to the container company they are currently using. Maybe for cost saving purpose, they chose to sacrifice people's health). After being reported to 311 Houston /Harris County health department, they try to cover it up with junk wooden doors on top. I am very concerned, this is a disaster for all the residents who live on their property and the issue still not being solved even till today, it is gonna get worse after this hot and humid season.”

“It's just a normal apartment complex. Noise issues become resolved one way or another. Mostly reasonable people. Safe. They have cameras in the hallways and entrances. Parking is easy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They do great deals on pricing. Great place in general”

“I was a tenant in Montierra for few months before Covid-19 pandemic, then I March 2020 I lost my job and I wasn't able to make the rent payment, as soon as I knew I couldn't not afford to continue to live in Montierra , I contacted the leasing office and I asked them if they were willing to allow me to move out, even though I have few months remaining of my leasing contract agreement. Their answer was: a payment plan, I told them I could not do agree to that since I did not have a job. I let them know that I was moving out and I asked to work a deal with me, in order to avoid my debt to be send to a collection agency. I clearly expressed to them my will to pay , i was force to moved out because I did not wanted to be living for free and eventually get evited. It's a hard time for millions of people, I'm not the only one who lost the source of income and I asked Montierra for a little of sympathy and understanding but they did not reply to my emails where I asked them to work an payment plan. I'm still jobless and the collection agency is calling me all the time, All that inconvenience, it could be voided if Montierra Had better understanding of how pandemic is affecting people's live. I am just asking for a way to pay them, without having a collection agency harassing me all the time.”

“It's amusing and sad actually to read the negative reviews of the property. The property is generally safe and with security cameras in appropriate locations and 24/7 security. There is "tailgating" at the gated entrance, and very often it is multiple residents entering the property. If tailgating bothers you, choose a different property and pay much higher rent (even double or more $$ at any high rise nearby). The property and the actual apartments are fashionable and upgraded. There is plenty of parking. The pools and exercise areas are well maintained and adequate for most people. The staff provides a nice living environment for residents and I find them very helpful and fair; a perfect management company does not exist, and if it does good luck finding it and paying for it. If you want a quiet place to live, you can find it here, but obviously do not pick an apartment with a pool view or facing a major street. If you want a mix of luxury and affordability, Montierra is an excellent choice.”

“I visited this property without reading the disturbing reviews. I did experience the guard not asking for proper identification on my first visit and it was tailgate entrance when pulled through. It was very disappointing to read about the former and/or tenants review of this property. What was most an upset about this property, tenants cannot use their own service providers. Residents are held "hostage" to use "AT&T" which is a company that has been and is still in bankruptcy due to the over payment services to their customers and reckless behavior (read up on "AT&T"). AT&T is known for setting up service at a low price and after installation, they raise their prices tremendously. If Montierra is stating that residents only use AT&T, Montierra should pay tenants' fees. As high as their fees to lease are, this should be already customary courtesy for the residents, if not, how could "YOU" dictate to residents to use AT&T which is a rip-off and this is not acceptable to hold tenants "hostage" in using AT&T a service that is costly to them. Residents should be able to use a service provider of their own choice. Are you getting a "fee" from AT&T for this outrage demand? This is a "FREE COUNTRY" or have you realized it. This falls under propaganda, scandalous behavior, and outright "SLAVERY". This is something "CORPORATE OFFICE" should address and change immediately. Also, AT&T is the highest provider in regards to other service providers. also stated by past tenants that in-house staff pay a part in vandalism of tenant property and residents.”

“I hope someone in the lessening office looks at this survey because I would like to let them know how rude all of them are except Tiffany. Rest of them are extremely rude and if we go there to pick up Our package they act like they don't wanna work and we made the biggest mistake because all they do is rest on their chairs and eat. I hope they change there attitude or else I won't hesistate to call the corporate or whoever is above them. Thank you!”

“This place is filthy!! For this place to be located in the galleria area!! Management doesn't fix problems'!! Maintenance is very unresponsive!! There is always dog pooping in the elevators!! People here are not respectful always loud music!! I hate it here and can't wait till my lease is up!!”

“Since community care taker left the property has gone down the drain. The current management allows the place to be dirty without cleaning for days or weeks. All sort of people now live there. There has been a lot of car break ins which never gets reported to the residents. Stay away there are a lot of nicer, safer apartments in the uptown area.”

“Stay Away!!!! Horrible experience. First off the people living there are allowed to make as much noise as they want with no repercussions. Additionally, if you live in an apartment near the main gate be prepared to hear the loud squeaking of the gate constantly. Secondly, the management of the Company writes the leases in the sneakiest way possible to force obscene days notice to vacate. Then if you try to contact them about it they are too important to talk to you directly. Additionally, the people that work in the leasing office will be nice to you until you sign your lease and then they are unhelpful and down right rude. There are plenty better apartment complexes in Houston. STAY AWAY from this one!!!”

“Montierra is a nice and safe place to stay with a great community! I loved the community events, especially the game nights - great avenue to meet & socialize with other residents. Its in a great neighborhood -walking distance to the Galleria and my office too so really convenient. The office staff are very professional and always supper helpful - special thanks to Kelli for all her support towards making my entire relocation process alot less stressful and always making you feel right at home at the apartment!”

“Just moved here a little over a month ago. The staff is really nice and helpful (Vincent has been awesome), and the maintenance has been super responsive if we had any problems with our apartment. Judging over the last month or so, I can tell this place isn't a super "young" crowd, so it's perfect for people who don't care about that too much. You won't find pool parties like in Metro Midtown over here, that's for sure. So if you're looking for a nice apartment in Uptown, this place is perfect for you!”

“Absolutely not worth your money. The apartments are dark and the carpets are old. The management is not very professional and they make you feel as if they are doing you a favor by renting the apartments to you. The staff they employ from maintenance and Sat night security are absolutely not at par with what this facility charges for rent. The maintenance for items had to be called in several times. The policies continually changed. Too expensive for water as well.”

“Lived at Montierra for 5 years (2009-2014) and we really enjoyed it. You can't wish for a better location and apartments are in a great condition. We loved the facilities and this place has 2 pools and jacuzzis which makes summertime even better. Gym is also spacious with all the equipment you need. Victoria, the manager is really customer focused and AJ also took care of our problems. Love the place. Highly recommended!!!”

“Enjoyed my time living in a nice comfortable clean complex, middle floor apartment noisey, returned the apartment in A1 condition however, after many follow up phone calls & promises from the staff i'm still waiting for return of deposit !”

“I lived in 4 different complexes in the past 3 years. I've been with Montierra for a year. So far everything is great. I'll list pros and cons. Overall, I'm very happy with where I live. Pros: - The staff is really really nice to me. Never had a single argument or miscommunication. So far they are all polite, and do their job correctly. - Great location and amenities. - The complex is good looking in general, apartments and appliances are nice. - Maintenance requests always done on time. Had to call twice just one time, rest of the maintenance issues were solved in a couple of days max. - The gates work fine 99% of the time and I occasionally see a security guard at nights. - No major bug problems. Roaches or silverfish once in a while but easily taken care of. We're in Houston so this is expected anywhere you go. - They got a nice online system set up recently. You can pay rent via card/check and you get emails if you get packages. Best out of all the other services my old apartment complexes used. - The gym, pools, and grills are nice. Grilling areas are clean and neat. Cons (these will be my complaints about the people I live around, not mostly about the complex): - As one of the previous comments stated, the pools were closed for 2-2.5 weeks because of City of Houston was not coming there to inspect the pools. However, they opened them back up a few days ago, and everything is fine. 2 weeks of not being able to swim won't kill me, but would be better if this didn't happen because I had to cancel two swim & bbq parties. - I have a pretty nice car and always try to park far away from other people and always at the corners for the sake of my paint job. There is sometimes a ------/douchette who parks so dumb, over the lines etc. that I can hardly get in my car. I don't know if someone does this on purpose, or it is just that people are ignorant. This is me being super ----, but I know there are people like me so, just another part of my comments. - There are some loud people once in a while on the hallways, but doesn't bother me as they walk by. Once I was doing chores (loudest thing would be the drier) and watching TV maybe a little bit louder than most people would appreciate at around 11PM one night. I had a flight early in the morning the next day during a weekday, so I had to do chores. My upper neighbor started stomping on the floor like a maniac and kept doing it.. I was never at the bedroom. I always was in the living room so, I don't understand how he/she got crazy about it. Then security knocked on my door telling me they heard complaints that I was making noise. But when they saw me with my bath towel wrapped around me and just the TV and dryer on, they were like oh ok (They got that the neighbor was acting up)... Then they left. I am not partying or anything.. So had this kinda stupid issue just once. But again, it is the neighbor, nothing wrong with the complex. I always hear their walking and stuff early in the morning or before I go to sleep, and never complain. This is not a hospital or a retirement home, so people should learn to live in apartments. NEIGHBORS COME AND GO, so I'm not really worried about it.”

“New ownership took over at the beginning of the year. They reduced the office hours, closing on Sunday, now the pools are closed by the City of Houston, most of the floors no longer have fire hoses attached to the stand pipes and many of the residents I've spoken to are moving out. There is a nice work out room but the sauna is broken. Maintenance issues seem to be slow as well. Many lights in the hallways are out. Big changes seem to be coming and continuing.”

“I currently live in The Montierra Apartments and have for the past 2 years, and I definitely enjoy it. It fits my needs perfectly. My work relocated from the River Oaks area to the Galleria and I decided I wanted to be within walking distance of my work. After looking at several places around my job I chose The Montierra. It is a lit bit further than others but after seeing The Montierra and all it had to offer I was sold. They really are beautifil inside and out. The staff is very helpful with any situation in many cases staying after hours to help with service issues and package collection. The Property Manager is extremely professional and courteous, you can tell she really cares about her residents and their living experience at the property. I cannot say enpugh good things about the maintenance staff - they are at your door within an hour of your call, sometimes minutes depending on the severity, the service is everything I could expect. They have several resident events throughout the year where I have had the chance to meet several of my neighbors who I know feel the same as I do. I will definitely recommend Montierra Apartments highly to anyone considering a place to live in Houston.”

“I was so sad to leave Houston and the Montierra Apartments especially. The staff is the most professional and courteous I have ever dealt with in the last 25 years of living in apartments. Kudos to Victoria and her staff, they all deserve a raise. So sad to leave but happy to start my new life. I highly recommend these apartments.”

“I relocated to Houston from Northern California a little over three years ago. Prior to moving, I leased another place just off Westheimer "sight un-seen". Unfortunately, the property and location left much to be desired. Thank God my car had already shipped and I had transportation. I found The Montierra and knew instantly that I was home as this was my kind of place. The ambiance gave me an instant feeling of home, warmth, safety, community, and quality of life. Although I am leaving, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with my apartment, the property, the maintenance, nor the office staff . I have been EXTREMELY happy with the neighborhood and living here. Mauricio and Fernando: I cannot say enough about how smart, friendly, responsive, caring, and hard working you are. Thank you for always tending to my apartment with responsiveness, diligence and a smile. Victoria, Jenny, & Edward: You were here day one to talk me off the ledge of going back to California and giving Houston a chance. Your professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you for always making me feel at home, in addition to welcoming me, my family, and my guests. When I told my family and friends back in California that I was leaving The Montierra, they were shocked and sad because they too have always enjoyed their visits to Houston and even more so, The Montierra. I have grown out of my apartment and after a little over three years, it is time for a house. The kind, responsive maintenance as well as the office staff here will be missed. It is without reservation that I would refer anyone looking to move to or around Houston to The Montierra Apartments. “This is the second time I lived at the Montierra and I'm just as sad to leave this time as the last. The first time I lived there was 15 years ago for 5 years and this time was for the last 3 years and I couldn't have been happier with both my stays. It honestly felt like a warm home since I'm unable to commit to buying a home of my own. The gated community is safe with excellent security and the ability to park in front of your home is the best. It's extremely quiet as well. The office staff is top notch excellent, professional and always there to help with anything. All the amenities are great, the pools, BBQ and work out area are all you'll ever need. The location is the best, next to the Galleria Mall and any type of restaurant you could ever imagine is less than 3 minutes away.. The pricing for my 1100sq foot huge one bed room with wood floors was worth every penny considering the location and the high-end living I'm accustom to. Thank you for everything, I'll be back.. “I write to convey a hearty recommendation for Montierra. The apartments are in excellent condition, the materials used and the kitchen appliances are high quality. We really liked the Leasing Office (Edward and A.J. always helpful and nice, Jenny and Victoria also caring and helping us if needed) and Maintenance (Fernando and Mauricio always fixing, replacing everything if needed with a very friendly attitude and reliable service). We enjoyed eventually using the pool and the barbeque, and attending the parties for residents. I personally appreciate also the little details such as seasonal decoration (right now Easter bunnies at the entrance, very nice Christmas trees in December, etc.) and the coffee machine at the clubroom. We rented the movie theater once as well (it is free of charge and fun with the reclining seats). The garage is great, only a few steps to reach your car. Never had any issue with bugs or cockroaches as I hear from friends living in other complexes. We were very happy here, sorry to have to leave (moving to another city). The prices were reasonable compared to the value and the great location (you can get a cheaper apartment elsewhere but in that case the daily commute will be much longer, not worth it, for us.)”

“I have lived here for 1 year and have had no problems, Thursday night I was pulling into the gate and did not have my gate key by chance a car that was in front of me was blocking me from pulling in, I eventually was able to get in only to find the white male pulling a gun out to my face and to make matters worse my girlfriend was pulling in with her car and the man was following us, I know in my heart he was going to kill us we dialed 911 and five cop cars arrived and couldn't find him. The police pulled the mans picture up and we identified the man,we are pressing charges. The next day management knew what happened and questioned the guy who denied even having a gun. This statement is for the managers in the office,Thanks for doing nothing about our safety I didn't know it's that easy to shoot someone here and get away with it,THANKS!!!”

“I've lived here for over 6 years. The staff and maintenance are excellent. Grounds are well kept and attractive. The property is very quiet to be located right in the middle of the Galleria and you wouldn't know it unless you looked out your window and saw the Uptown landmarks. I've lived around several neighbors who have lived here longer than my 6 years! I saw comments regarding several thefts and reviewed the crime statistics and found that the property ranked well above properties immediately around it. The Galleria, Uptown and Midtown areas are subject to these wheel thefts. Even the restaurants and businesses have had these occurences. Very pet friendly. Lots of residents who walk their dogs all hours around the property. A very safe feeling on property. There is a gate attendant and patrol which drives the property. I'll be here till they make me leave!”
